  1. "....for the Car Guys the answer was always 2." 2 ?
  2. The OK for 0W20 has been discussed on this foum quite a lot. Right after the 0W20 was appproved for the C-Max new new models, many of us posted that we inferred that this would be ok for the 2013's as well. Immediately there were many adamant opposing views posted, including some from the Ford reps to this site. Eventally, Ford came around and retroactively approved the 0W20 for all C-Max models - but it took QUITE a WHILE !! Similarly, there has been a large body of opinion posted here that would indicate that 45 psi tire pressure or even higher would be notomly ok but actually preferable. Again there have many adamant opposing views posted. I have not, however, seen any notice of 45 psi getting the ok from Ford. Has that happened yet?
  3. FWIW: Energi does have the EV button, but that does not mean you can go EV+ whenever you want to. Once the SOC is low enough for EV+ to do any good, EV mode will not come on when the EV button is pushed to select EV-now. One still needs to wait for the EV+ rules to be satisfied before EV will be forced.
  4. Message for Energi can be up to 2 years.
  5. Further to this: Right after the purchase, I returned the car to the dealer, as scheduled, for them to apply exterior and interior protectants. Have not been back to the dealer since, except to pick up license plates and to visit the parts department for minor accessory bits (cargo net, etc.). i do have recall notices out for the door chime and the restraints module replacement, but my door chime is already working as described for the fix, and the restraint control bit will continue to wait until either I get the erroneous light or the dealer notifies me that they have sufficient parts to do the non-critical cars.
  6. Did my first oil change last month at just over 2 years. I was waiting for the dash message, but did not get it. Got the message the next week. (Shop had forgotten to reset.) I did the 0W20 full synthetic.
  7. No problems on 2013 Energi (SEL), built March 2013, bought mid April 2013. Likely on lot less than 2 weeks.
  8. Frank has arrived at the correct answer. And he has also explained the behavior! My office is less than one half mile from my home.
  9. I was hopinmg to attract a few more guesses. I will post the answer on Saturday. In the mean time, here is a clue: The failure to turn on EV+ at a frequent destination has something to do with distance.
  10. Close, but no cigar! I have no reason to think that Ford is associating time (of day) with EV+
  11. Interesting replies from Frank and Steve, but no correct answer yet. (Yes, there is a known, definite, single, correct answer.)
  12. Here is a Puzzler: My EV+ mode seems to work fine except for certain occasions. Both my home and my office are set as EV+ locations, as are some othe frequent destinations. Generally when I approach any set destination, the EV+ comes on and works correctly. Two exceptions, however, do occur for my most frequent destinations, home and the office. When I travel directly from home to the office or from the office to home, EV+ does not come on. If I leave home and go to another location (e.g. the post office) and then to the office and then back home, EV+ comes on at the post office and at the office, but not at home. Similarly, if I go from my home to my office, then to the post office and then later home, EV+ does not come on at my office, but does come on at the post office and at home. Can anyone explain why? Free PM of congratulations to the member who posts the first correct answer.
  13. Update on my slow tire leak: Filled to 45 psi in late January. Have not added any air since. Now at 38 psi. (Our temperatures were in the 40s (F) in late January and are in the 70s to 80s now; so, pressure may have decreased a bit more were it not for the seasonal change.)
  14. I use it for my emergency spare sunglasses, an old pair that's already somwhat scratched up.
  15. Do you believe in magic? It's a miracle !!! I went to the car to try the reset of the MFT. When I turned the car on, the MFT connected to the phone. Thanks to all who gave suggestions. Any or all may have helped. Thanks especially to Rebecca for the MFT reset instructions. Even the threat of impending reset on MFT may have done the trick.
  16. Rebecca, Thanks for chiming in. I was previously paired and connected. When one day I could no longer connect, I un-paired the phone and car. I then had difficulty re-pairing. I am re-paired now (i.e, the phone sees the car and the car sees the phone), but it still will not connect.
  17. not in the last 6 months or so. Today I finally got re-paired, but I still can not connect.
  18. Thanks for clarifying. I was afraid that you meant that I would need to do a factory reset on the phone. I have done all of this previously, but will do again making sure that the phone and the car have both been off for considerable time. I will also cycle off and on the Bluetooth settings on both the car and phone.
  19. Doug, Thanks for the advice. I am not sure how to do a "Hard Re-boot" of the car. I am already un-paired, and the phone and the car have been off for long times since the un-pairing; so whatever I do next, I would do from this state. Thanks in advance for any further help.
  20. I lost sync with my (Motorola DROID RAZORMAX) phone and could not get it to re-sync. The last time this happened, I unpaired it and re-paired to get it synced again. This time I could not get it re-paired. The phone can not find SYNC. Th phone has no difficulty finding and pairing with various other Bluetooth devices. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. Or perhaps the significance of ANY of CR's ratings is lost in the fog of CR's own errors - biases, uncertainties, insufficient sampling - and their own reliability problems.
