Made a trip from Newnan, GA to Deland, FL and back and here are the results!IMG_10331.JPGIMG_10321.JPG You will notice that the GPS shows a difference between the actual miles and the C-Max odometer. I used back roads to be able to run between 40-55mph. I averaged 40.3mph - the GPS shows 38.9mph because I did some City driving after the trip. Actual moving time was only 22 hours 31 minutes. Smart gauge time was 23 hours 36 minutes. Will add more details later once I have a chance to review the data. About bloody time! :worship: Congratulations Paul! Superb time as well. #1 spot is yours :) Quite a jump from the 725 to 863 :drool: Edit: So this proves that it is possible to break 800+ with City (35-45) and now Highway (45-55). May be 13b07 played a bit here, as does the grill cover and the gas pods. I'm curious if I may ask, what was the average brake score during this tank. Had to be a consistent high score to see that kind of mileage. In time they pay for themselves.Grill covers add 2-5(?threabouts) MPG according to Paul's testing, plus Gas Pods add another 3-5% (if the website is correct), so lets jus say, it adds 3 MPG (minimum), thats more than enough to pip PT's CMax over FTW. I ended up 62.2 and he ended up with 63.2, couple with a perfect terrain..wallah...BINGO....collect the cash.... :spend: :happy feet: I'll watch the Gas Pod thread before deciding...I know catsailor has 'em as well. Brake scores mean nothing to me, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100... :spend: ....my MPGs do not rely on the 100% effort. But that's jus me... ptjones Posted October 3, 2013 Report Share Posted October 3, 2013 Paul I'm not quite sure what you said, went over my I.Q. but thanks for taking the time to post it. ;) But I do understand that the numbers at the top of trip1 or 2 are the actual hours, minutes, seconds on a given tank since last reset. What I was trying to say is to get that many miles on a single tank. You must be driving very slow and on very flat roads to get that much out of a tank. I know what it took for me to squeeze out a 602 tank. I can't imagine what it takes to get a 833.What I meant was if it takes 20days to use a tank there is going to be a lot of sitting around time added to the moving time. It's not the speed limit but the non-timed red lights and the crazy, peak hour traffic braking for no gawd damn reason which forces more stationary time than driving time...ssssh. On a rare blue moon, I can get a stretch of timed lights.... I use to drive the country back roads at East Los Angeles, that was more fun and fast. I made it home in 1hr 25 mins (10 mins longer than the GPS estimate) and averaged 58MPG for the ride, versus the usual 44MPG or lower using I-75. When the last company I worked for, over 10 years ago, moved from A2 to Southfield, I had to drive from Milan 5 days a week, in Jan., Feb. and March!! Up 23 to 14 to 696 at 7am!!! And home at 3-4 in the afternoon. It was a nightmare!!! I couldn't wait to get a job back in A2. So happy with my little back road drive to work each day. I had to top off in Ann Arbor because I had errands to run before going home :shift: :to fill up with those pesky Kroger Fuel Points.....I had 500 that needed to be used before they expired. So I put in, I think about a gallon, and then when I did fill up I just added that gallon to the total. It's a fairly small town but the main road through downtown has a speed limit of 25 mph. You can time it so that you never have to stop at more than one red light by going the speed limit. Even tho, it was a little scary, since I didn't know what to expect if I did run out of gas completely. I held my breath after I got over 616. But it's been an awesome summer, and later I need to do a comparison between cost of gasoline last year with the Liberty and this year with the C-MAX. Adair - the mornings in SE MI have been killing me lately! The drive to take my daughter to school (about 17 miles from the house) was netting fuel economies in the 50 MPG range until this week, now hitting low 40's! I'm chalking up the decreases to the defroster and lights needing to be on! I do tend to cycle the HVAC though - just turn it on to clear the windshield, then turn it off until needed again. And once the kid is out of the car, the HVAC is OFF and the windows are cracked open to keep the view clear. The ride back still needs lights though, so the return trips are hitting mid-40's. I'm still wondering why Ford didn't put LEDs in the headlights? BTW gas pumps are calibrated as certified by the State. I spoke to a company in our industrial complex that services gas pumps and they said they are accurate to .01 gal. Your fill up amount can vary just by how level the car is when you fill it up. I have had 2 tanks where I've put 14 gal in topping it off.
