Seth7721
Do any of you know what Active City Stop is? It is a collision avoidance feature that can hit the brakes for you. Ford sells it on there European vehicles, but not there North American vehicles. I really wish Ford would put it on there vehicles here. Other car company's like Merceds Benz, Mazda, Subaru, and Volvo all have it. Ford use to own two of those company's.(Volvo and Mazda.) I am sure they still have connections with both of them. If you want to see it in action watch this video. Here is the link, http://youtu.be/vyhXbBsoATo. Please call and e-mail Ford if you want this feature in America to. We may even be able to start a petition. Maybe the first vehicle they will implement it on will be the C-max Hybrid Edited May 24, 2013 by Seth7721
Laurel
It is a very good feature. We had it on our Lexus SUV. It probably saved our lives while driving in Los Angeles a year ago. We were on one of the scary giant freeways keeping up with traffic which was over 75-80 miles per hour (something we are not used to in Canada) and a big flat deck truck suddenly pulled right in front of me in my lane and then the cars in front of him suddenly put their brakes on. It all happened super fast and our Lexus abruptly applied the brakes on its own before I could even react. Without that happening we would have been under the flat deck. It did feel rather freaky though as I thought at first that I had a divine intervention LOL as I did not know about the feature, and I was surprised our air bags didn't inflate as it was very abrupt. ScubaDadMiami
I agree. The front sensors are a plus. However, they could have just gone the last step. Maybe we could make one big petition from the Forum that would have the top five or so improvements/wish list items? I would add allowing AppLink on the upscale entertainment system, so that users can take full advantage of both the system and smartphones. I'd also go big time about a non-leather option for the SEL. Maybe if they got something from all of us, it would have a bigger impact. Just a thought. Although, Ford had already started putting Active City Stop on there vehicles, before this law was going to go in place. Lastly, I like the idea if everyone just posted how much they would love this feature in America. Hopefully it will be the 1 topic.

ScubaDadMiami
Yeah, but it could be presented to Ford at the meeting, which I think would make it have a higher chance of being looked at by someone that could make the suggestions go someplace. salsaguy
im sure it was either a cost issue or a USA regulations/safety legality thing. perhaps Ford does surveys after ownership and ask what you liked and didn't so you can request it there. Ford still has a little stake in Mazda and could have borrowed the technology from them, if they weren't allowed to use there's. Like I have said before many other brands have this feature on there American vehicles.
