GreenChicago
Good job, Ford engineers! I just got my car's MFT upgraded to 3.5.1 today, and it does seem to have fixed a few things: The very good news:1. My streaming bluetooth now accurately picks artists and track names from my iPhone 4s. I didn't have to go into iTunes and delete random metadata, which is what a few others suggested worked for them. YAY! 2. Bluetooth controls now work from the entertainment console. I can stop, rewind, skip, etc. using the dash controls rather than with my hands on the phone. This is a huge improvement for me, as I listen almost exclusively to streaming podcasts or music in the car, and no longer need to operate my phone to do this. Hurray for safety! (Ford: if you're reading this, why not consider an enhancement to permit 30 second rewind from MFT controls, as Apple does natively? Pretty please?) The annoying, but easily fixed news:3. The upgrade wiped out all my navigation history and destinations. Not unexpected, but a pain to program again. 4. As others noted, clock time was off by a random amount (not whole hours, but hours + minutes) The annoying and can't yet figure out how to fix it news:5. My garage opener thingy that I finally got working no longer works. No idea why the upgrade would have affected this, or maybe it's just coincidence. Anybody else have trouble with this feature on their SEL? OM instructions not working for me.

GreenChicago
Plus3, do you have any tips for how you got yours working? The only thing I didn't do that the OM suggested was to replace your original clicker with a fresh battery, since it's a weird one that requires a trip to Radio Shack. I've read others saying they've never gotten it to work. Any help appreciated.
AzureBlue
I didn't replace the battery, either, and it worked on the first try with two different garage doors. All I did was follow the instructions, being literal about holding the remote right next to the button on the visor. (Thought that might be especially important with old batteries.) Mine opener worked without issue following the 3.5.1 upgrade. (Obviously doesn't require correct "Where Am I" position! Sarcasm mine.) Laurel
We don't have the nav upgrade, and hubby was able to set up the garage door opener and the gate to our complex with no problems by following instructions in the owner's manual. He said it was straight forward compared to his old car. I asked him if he had any special tips and he couldn't think of any glitches or tricks to setting it up. I don't recall having any issues the first time.

Goodness, it's good to have some perspective on this. Mine came with 3.5.1, and i was complaining about not having playlists available when streaming over bluetooth. But I saw an option that might be relevant to that just before dropping it off at the dealer (to fix some lot damage - I'm soooo paranoid it won't look as good as the factory finish, even if they do fix the paint chip!) I plug my iPod in via USB. Not that I really switch playlists that often….
GreenChicago
Noah, the 3.5.1 doesn't exactly have "playlists" per se, and I haven't yet tried the voice controls to select tracks. What was not working before 3.5.1 for me was no track or artist names appearing on the console. It would either say, "unknown" or stay stuck on a track that I'd played a few days before, even though that was not the song playing. You might go into settings>>options>> media player>>and select cover flow priority from player, not gracenotes. If that doesn't work, try gracenotes. Thanks :) I might check it out but I'll probably stick with USB so I can get the playlists.
ArizonaEnergi
The pause screen control now seems to be working with my USB flashdrive containing MP3 audiobooks. However, if I go to say AM radio, then back to USB it starts playing immediately rather than staying paused, even though I have the setting set to "do not start automatically". No impact on my garage opener programming which was setup without problem, for both old openers and a new one that I had to push a button on to activate the process. BTW, my "Where Am I" shows my location at about 90' from the actual, if Google Maps can be relied upon for lat/long coordinates. I have navigation and a new GPSM.
