Kelleytoons
Hmmm, and I almost WAS caught dead in one (because it moved like a slug when the traffic was bearing down on me). No matter -- eventually Darwinian selection will remove all the Prius owners from the face of the earth <g>. (So how the heck did THIS old thread get revived? Someone feeling bored this morning?) DaveofDurham
There's an A** for every seat. Chose wisely my friends or it could cost you more than a few MPG's :wub2:Dr. D. - Thans for reminding me of one of my favorite expressions. The first time I heard it was from one of two brothers who were the service managers at the two dealerships my father's shop did body work for. Their father used buy clunkers to fix up and sell. When the kids would say, "No one will ever buy that.", he would reply, "Don't worry boys, there is an a** for every seat." drdiesel1
nsteblay
Toyota makes good cars. I know many people who have bought the Prius and love it. My sister has a Prius-C and swears by it. Don't expect much acceleration from them though. I'm lovin' the C-Max - six straight 600 mile tanks this summer. Averaging just over 49 MPG this summer - 41 MPG lifetime. Super comfortable, great visibility, more than adequate acceleration and American made. It even talks to me (though I lose every argument). Recalls have been a hassle but I appreciate Ford's proactive approach to addressing these issues. No deaths or injuries due to the recalls - that's the type of proactive approach you've got to appreciate. C-MaxSea
Kunari
I too have friends that love their Prius cars and was in the market for a small car with good MPG myself. I didn't get to the Toyota dealer but the Honda Fit was my top pick until I tried my Energi. The rebates and lease offer was just miles ahead and my daily commute to/from work in within the EV range of my fully charged Energi battery. Sure the FIT has more cargo room for my mtn bike but the Energi will fit 'em with the seats down and I plan to get a bike rack. The Prius is a good car but wasn't for me.
