mtb9153
I'm noticing a reoccurring scenario with my battery levels. I turn off the ignition in the garage with battery levels at least half charged or closer to full. Next morning come out, start Maxus and almost immediately ICE kicks in because the battery is below 3/4 to 1/8. I've always had this issue even before any of the software upgrades. Could this be a sign of a eventual dead battery like so many are and have experienced? Can't imagine what might be running through the night. I don't have any devices plugged in other than leaving my Apple iPhone cable plugged into the console cigarette plug, without the iPhone charging. :headscratch: Edited August 21, 2013 by mtb9153 Mamalou16201
ceemax71
The dead battery issue several people have had is the 12 volt battery being discharged. The gauge on the dash shows the high voltage battery level which is disconnected when the igntion is not on. However, a lot of people have noticed that the HV battery level is different between the time the car was shut down and when it is started. But many have said that the HV battery level is higher than when it is shut down. So, maybe the HV battery has to be warmed up before it can accurately measure its state of charge. Laurel
mtb9153 we have the SEL 303 and I think ours has always done exactly what yours does. I've never worried about it. We haven't gone in for any MFT or power train updates yet and bought in November.

Noah Harbinger
I would say that for most of us, with EV+ doing a big depletion of the battery before we stop the vehicle, we would expect to see the measured available energy increase over time as the voltage renormalizes after a long discharge - the more freely available charge gets depleted, creating a temporarily abnormally low voltage; over time the less freely available charge is released, increasing the voltage. Someone who for some reason regularly ended up charging before coming to a stop, I would surmise, would show an abnormally high charge for the exact opposite reason: The charge has not had sufficient time to dissipate into the nooks and crannies, so and so the voltage registers unnecessarily high.
