Adair
Here's the dilemma.....This morning my Trip 1 read 595 miles. My miles to empty read 37. :drop: It's 34 miles round trip to work/home BUT I have to take my mom to an appointment at 5:30, right after work, which means flying home, gathering up the mom and daughter, and driving back 2 miles to said appointment. My clock said 7:40 am, which meant that if I left right then, I would still be 10 minutes late to work. My Kroger fuel points expire in 3 days. Do I......forego the 600 mile tank in favor of (a) getting to work *close to* on time? (b) fill up to not lose the $.60 off per gallon at Kroger? :spend: © drive around for 5 miles, make it to 600, fill up, :flyaway:still be late to work.....yaddah, yaddah, yaddah?Whadda ya think? The fact that I was seriously weighing all these options means I seriously need an intervention. fotomoto
One of the best things I've done to improve my fuel economy no matter what car I drive is to leave early or at least on time. I sip my coffee while I P&G and just shake my head at all the others flying by, cutting each other off, and slamming on their brakes while trying not to be late, again. So my answer is C. :) Edited August 29, 2013 by fotomoto Laurel and HannahWCU
ScubaDadMiami
C! C! C! The damage of being late is already done. Why add more damage by missing your 600+? You've worked too hard for this! You deserve this! Go for it! :shift: Laurel and hybridbear
Jus-A-CMax
Asking for the forum for intervention is like walking naked into a forest covered in honey - either the wee bees will get you or some Smokey Bear will, either way you're toast but you're all honey on the way out :twister: pssss go for it :rating: hybridbear, C-MaxSea and Laurel
C-MaxSea
Whoa there Adair, definitely D. Five miles, forgetaboutit, go for 45 and nip Grouper at 640.2 - no question! Adair
Use the Kroger fuel points...if those are July fuel points..August points won't expire until Oct.1Yes, LizM, they were July, and I did cave and use them. I didn't want to be hassling with it before mom's appt. yesterday or her 2 appts. today. There's always the next tank. This posted at 8:09 PM, but you said your clock read 7:40 AM. Jaz, you are so right...I always have my eye on it. doG no! I never looked before. It was just too depressing in the Jeep. I filled up every 4-5 days, now it every 2 or more weeks!!! By the way, for getting to 600 and the appointments and using your Kroger points, did you consider the option of letting your Mom take the wheel while you pushed to maximize that last bit of gas?
