Was going to get one of them but just don't care for the jagged edges of the numbers and text.  Looks cheap.  Why didn't they use a smooth font in the LCD display?  Just me being picky I know.

Scan Gauge II isn't a scan tool. It will read some codes, but it's an actual gauge for reading data pid's.

You can monitor the HVB's SOC, it's temperature, cabin temperature, 12V battery voltage, ETC.

I have the ultra gauge and it gives you a lot of info and cost less than the Scan Gauge.

I only use mine for intake and coolant temp, Instantaneous MPG's and RPM's. Important stuff that the Smart gauge doesn't have available with the Hybrid stuff.

That's good to hear Bike1.  I have an older ultra-gauge that can't read many of the hybrid parameters but more importantly it wouldn't shut down and ran down my 12v overnight.  Your newer version has fixes for that.

Anyone know if you can run two scan gauges on our cmax? I know there are two OBD ports.

Good question Matt.   I headed out the door but this evening I'll see if my old ultra-gauge will power up on the second port.  I wouldn't see not but you know about assuming.

There is the one on the left side of drivers foot well with a covering door. The other is under the steering column.

Thanks maybe I can put the cover back on and stick plug  in the other one. Funny that service personnel always pull mine out.

Confirmed. Both ports work at the same time.

 

Paul, if you place your heel on the brake pedal and then rotate your foot to the 10 or 11 o'clock position, your toes should touch or be very close to the second port.

It's not standard.  You have to enter the special X-Gauge codes.  Some of them are listed here on the Energi forum:

The only three I ever got to work are the HVB SoC, HVB temperature, and interior temperature, but those are the most interesting ones to me.

Naw, I have to agree with you on that, I've added lots of stuff to mine, but have tried to keep a somewhat uniform modern aesthetic... that thing looks like it's from 1968- or one could like it as looking "industrial" and thus strong.

 

For me, "Torque" iphone and android app is muuuch prettier, flexible, tons of data measured, and a $9 bluetooth OBD wins hands down.
