tehuti
I did not get navigation with my SE because I have a Garmin Nuvi that works great and I hardly use anyway (I end up using my iPhone with the Apple or Waze nav more). However, I am considering updating my maps on the Nuvi or getting a new one and wondered if it was possible to get the MFT navigation added after the fact. Is it merely a software or firmware upgrade for MFT? If it's possible I want to compare the cost effectiveness of upgrading my Nuvi to getting my MFT upgraded. I would prefer to do it through the built in display, but either one would work for me.
frbill
Ford will not update to navigation after the factory. You can get a third party solution at the following site http://gm-navigation.com/ford-navigations/mytouch-gps-navigation-system.htmlIt is really pricey but if you want integrated nav this is the only solution that I am aware of. Peace, Father Bill
drdiesel1
Yes, you can add the factory Nav system, but it's gonna be 5 X the price of anything else.OE parts over the counter are expensive and the labor costs will kill it.You need the factory scan tool to configure the system too. You'll be better off just updating what you have as far as costs go. Edited November 19, 2013 by drdiesel1
homestead
Looks like $800http://www.navtv.com/product/221/garmin-ntx54-stand-alone-navigation.html
mtb9153
Ya you should have got it at the purchase but know it might not have seemed important at the time. Fore sight isn't always possible. It would be way more expensive to do it after the fact if possible at all. ;)

I am planning to upgrade it and just wondered if the in dash system would be a viable alternative. It's not. Thanks everyone for the info.
