HPRifleman
Is anyone familar with the 12M02 FSA? I tried searching for this on the forum but did not find anything. Looking on http://etis.ford.com I see that my C-Max is designated for this. The description there is: 12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCO L INTERFACE MODULE (APIM) I was wondering if this is an actual improvement or just an adminstrative descriptor that does not require any actual "action". fotomoto
Yes, no "action" required. It's just a notice that the warranty on the sync/MFT was extended due to all the issues when it first came out; a goodwill gesture. IIRC, it was extended from 3 yrs to 5. thedonn57
fbov
I recall this... it's a warranty extension for the module that runs Sync/MFT. There was some sort of odd problem and this just insures that it's covered under warranty, beyond normal coverage, because they know some of these are bad. MichaelM
It seems that the FSA was issued to authorize the updating to v3.6 of the MFT software reardless of the current version on the vehicle. Making sure that the cost was covered under the warranty. Validating the MyFordTouch/MyLincolnTouch v3.6 software level from the Vehicle Touch-screen: Press the Gear Icon > Help button > System Information Look for the 5-digit number after CCPU S/W Version to identify the software on the vehicle. Number 13171 indicates v3.6 software has been installed. Customer Satisfaction Program 12M02 - Supplement #1: Applies to eligible sold customer vehicles outside of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. The 12M02 warranty extension covers Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) Hardware replacement for failed modules and includes software updates. HPRifleman
My CCPU S/W # is 4.29.12285. So does this mean that, for my car, 12M02 is actually an action to update this? If so, does anyone have experience with this? What does this fix?
