stolenmoment
My dealer offered to do this when I took my Energi in for something else. They broke the keyless door locks, so check that before you drive away. They fixed it with no argument, but it was another day in the shop. homestead
Got mine done today. Took about 6 hrs. They said they had to take all 4 doors apart.

jestevens
I received the original letter from Ford but no follow-up letter (when parts are available) and no contact by dealer. I guess I'll ask them to make it a part of the next periodic service.

fbov
As I recall, this one initially applied to southern cars, then was extended to all of us. They're managing limited parts availability (2M vehicles) or high cost based on a temperature sensitivity. Cars in hot environments are more likely to fail. The northeast may be last to get fixed...Frank
WNY
I remember seeing this a while ago, asked the dealer, said parts weren't gonna be available till March. maybe they are finally getting them in. I'll have to check.
markd
That's what I figure Frank, my dealer said it would be the second quarter of 2017 before they had the parts. I'm in Indiana btw.
Kelleytoons
Yeah, I've got my letter but if it's gonna take that long to fix it may be an issue for me (the main dealer is 45 minutes away with no real possibility for me to just drop it off). jestevens
If you explain situation maybe the dealer will give you a loaner car to borrow.
john*thomas
Got mine done Tuesday. Took all day. I did also get my modem recall done at the same time.
Bill-N
FWIW, received my parts-are-available letter a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had the fix yet, so no info as to how long it takes or what's involved.
plus 3 golfer
FWIW, received my parts-are-available letter a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had the fix yet, so no info as to how long it takes or what's involved.I went in at 2:15 pm (for a 2:30 appointment) and was on my way home at 3:30. My letter also arrived about 2 weeks ago and had it done 1 1/2 weeks ago. When I asked how long the recall would take when making the appointment, the SA did say plan on 2-3 hours. Maybe two techs worked on my car. Here's the labor allowance: Replace all side door latches – C-MAX and Focus 16S30B - 2.7 Hours Edited May 29, 2017 by Plus 3 Golfer ptjones
WNY
FInally got the parts in and mine were done a couple weeks ago, they had it all day. not sure exactly how long it took, but at least it's done. updated GPS stuff, since map was off... again.... out of warranty as of 50K a week ago, so at least everything is up to date so far. markd
I'm planning on waiting until I hit 30,000 miles and doing the recall and warranty inspection at the same time, but I have already gotten the letter and I won't hit 30g's until October. What do you think?
jestevens
Well my doors seemed stiff to close in the back but never actually popped open driving down the road, I guess you have to make your own judgment call. It does change the feel of the interior door pull slightly when you open the door but it's not unpleasant. I was about to curse when I opened the back passenger side and noticed one edge of the plastic trim piece from the door loose, but it -was- just loose and only needed a good press to seat it back in place. ArizonaEnergi
Got another postcard from Ford on this recall a week ago. Called dealer and they said parts weren't available and I would get a card from Ford when they are. Maybe on the 1 year anniversary of the the recall? plus 3 golfer
Got another postcard from Ford on this recall a week ago. Called dealer and they said parts weren't available and I would get a card from Ford when they are. Maybe on the 1 year anniversary of the the recall?"Owners in Arizona, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Utah were notified in January, 2017. Owners in the other 43 states will be notified in phases beginning in Second Quarter 2017. Dealers should repair any affected vehicles that arrive at their dealerships, whether or not the customer has received a letter." Maybe the issue is the red highlighted text - too many repairs with no letter and hence such repairs "used up" parts for AZ owners as AZ was suppose to be in the first wave as heat is a contributing factor of failure. jestevens
I got the recall here in PA, I think my back doors are worse now than when they were stock from factory. The bottom line is that you have to slam the back doors and make sure they latch - I can see some folks not doing that and thinking they are closed when in fact they are only half latched I still have to do that, even more now that I have the new "improved" parts. I don't know if they can actually fall open or not if they are completely latched with stock from factory but the back door latch mechanism seems extra "stiff"
