SnowStorm
Ford announces the all new Focus Active as "quite simply, the best car in our one-hundred and fourteen year history." A bold statement for sure! I think its good looking but will there be a hybrid? How much headroom and luggage space does it have? What does everyone think? kostby
Whatever. The Focus Active in the video clip looks like a mildly updated European Focus hatchback. The 'World Focus' product announcement was on April 10th: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2018/04/10/all-new-global-focus-innovative-spacious-connected.html I see evidence of Honda/Toyota styling cues in the front and rear fascia (I've named them 'brutal-agressive-chic'), but somehow Ford totally missed the 'visually detached or disappearing C-pillar' look that is sweeping the Asian design studios. RELATED: Ford finally acknowledges that they really ARE the Mustang, SUV & Truck company in North America:All but two passenger cars (Focus & Mustang) will disappear from our showrooms in the next two years.http://money.cnn.com/2018/04/25/autos/ford-cars-north-america/index.html?sr=twmoney042518ford-cars-north-america0457PMStory Prediction:If world auto design follows the trend from 'outlandish boatloads of chrome and tail fins' era of the late 1950's into the ultra-conservative styling of the early 1960's, the visual design extreme we're witnessing now will virtually disappear and we'll be back to riding in bland slabs by 2023.Notice that I did not say 'driving'.They may be fully autonomous bland slabs. ptjones
Less truck space and where is the Hybrid. :headscratch: Paul
raadsel
I'm pretty sure the C-Max "replacement" will be an Escape or EcoSport Hybrid. I believe I've seen rumors that both will be offered in a hybrid version -- though the Escape rumors seem more solid. ptjones
ptjones
We have seen actual FEH Mules on the road being tested. :) Paul
stolenmoment
My wife drives an older Escape Hybrid that I don't particularly like, even though the drivetrain convinced me to look at the CMax. I got a newer Escape as a loaner awhile back, and I like it a lot better, so a plug-in Escape would probably be just fine with me. Hopefully more than 20mi electric range, though! ptjones
jestevens
I'm getting tons of online ads for the EcoSport, but the CMAX is a nicer car that gets twice the MPG.. I already owned an HHR, I don't care to go back to 25MPG for a crossover when gas is $3/gal (people in Europe are probably laughing right now - gas over there $8-10 a liter) .. cbharvest
zalusky
I drove a Jeep Compass last week when I was in Chicago. I hated it. The engine would try to shut down at stop lights and the AC would go nuts. Next it terrible acceleration with the geared transmission versus the CVT and electric motors of the CMAX. No way I would go to an Ecosport type of car.
sf49fanv
Ford has announced that they will no longer produce sedans, except for Mustang and Focus compact, by the end of. 2019. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-ford-car-models-20180425-story.html#
jmcgliss
I saw a story that the Fusion may continue as a Subaru Outback style of vehicle. We've wanted a Fusion wagon since forever. Would love to see the C-Max powertrain in that vehicle.
