Buggs1a
I have the 2013 cmax sel. How do you put in addresses to navigate? It won’t let you the correct way like 1111 48th pl s city state zip. And when I try to put in one address it literally will not let me. The address has no name. Just numbers. And the nav system forces me to put in names. This system is so stupid I don’t even use it. It needs to let you put in addresses like we do on an envelope. Ford dropped the ball major. A bonehead move. I’m trying to learn how. Even the manual won’t tell you.
DarenHayes
its so easy to use actually, when entering an address , look for the HIGHLIGHTED part of the address that needs to be filled in, usually the city will need to be entered first, then the next area will LIGHT up (or HIGHLIGHT itself) .. You do not enter in the address from right to left (like you were writing or reading) you have to follow the steps, the part of the address that needs to be filled in BOLDs itself. I think it bolds itself in GREEN, but not sure. Follow that and you should be fine. Edited November 7, 2018 by DarenHayes JAZ

You need to ensure you have the correct state first; then typically it will want the city, the street, and after that the address number on the street. It also will check the address, as you proceed, so it will limit the street names to those it shows in that city, and then a number range that it shows for that street. Last, if there is a directional letter (such as N University) that goes between the number and the street, you'll want to include that as part of the street name (from what I recall). cr08
JAZ
Additionally, if you're using an older version of the navmaps, it obviously won't recognize any addresses created since the last nav/map update.
DarenHayes
The navigation system is awesome, i also love how it stores and saves previous destinations, eliminating re entering them (its great for when you are travelling in an unfamiliar place, so handy). Buggs1a
I only know how to enter addresses the same way you write them on an envelope. And when the nav asks for something I don’t know what to put. Addresses that have no name won’t work because the nav forced you to use letters not numbers. So I don’t get it. cr08
Essentially you have to adjust your way of thinking in reverse. To save on processing resources, it is easier for the system to work backwards and narrow down address possibilities. Start with the city and state and ask for the street name. It will assume to only search the input street name in the selected city and state. Once the street name is confirmed, ask for the street number which will then assume to look just at that previously set street name, city, and state. The other option is to simply input the address by voice which will naturally work in the forward direction. Not too difficult once you know what it is looking for too. Starting from the home screen I generally just go "Navigation. Destination. Street Address." in one phrase and clear brief pauses between commands. It'll then do the shpiel of asking for the address. Then as simple as "1. 2. 3. Main St. Columbus." as an example. Doesn't allow for "one twenty three" or "one hundred twenty three" but specifically wants "one two three". Buggs1a
Thanks all. Mwhatcif the street name is just numbers? I don’t know why but I got the system to work. The first time I tried the address to my local social security office I couldn’t get it to work. Then I tried again another day and it worked. I have no idea why it worked the second time but not the first. The address does not have a street name. Just numbers. 156 131st Burien wa 981xx. That’s not the actual address but is how it is. I forget the actual numbers.

cr08
The street names you should be able to do naturally by voice like "one hundred and thirty first". It's just the street number it is very particular with. Entering by hand should be able to just start putting "131" and hit the little button next to it to get a list of street names its narrowed down if it hasn't gotten you down to one street name automatically.
