Don't waste your money with Premium gas!
KAL Cmax replied to SnitGTS's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
I run premium (93 octane) for the additives, not octane. Since it costs me an extra $5 a tank for premium, that's about $20 more a month on fuel. I also use synthetic oil since I am going 10k on an oil change. I know it can be seen as a waste of money, but the extra cost of piece of mind is worth it. My fuel expense has dropped by over $350 a month since I switched to the C-Max. To me it is cheap insurance. I bought my C-Max a month ago today and now have 2,476 miles on it. -
Yup, I always try to pick the lesser of the two evils... Just a thought, good luck on deciding tomorrow, let us know how it come out. I just have a heavy rubber mat from Lowe's that I cut to fit. My work equipment would destroy the carpet after about three times loading it. I don't really need the water resistant part like you.
-
Scuba, what if you were to have them put extra material say an extra 2" sized square on top and stitch it around the finished edge. That way any water would shed onto to the mat not down into the tie-downs. So you would tuck in the flap, and have some loose material overlapping on top.

I have made a few of my own enlightenment moments... I managed to install the rear bumper protector about 3/4" to far in... Oh well. A good friend of mine does the paint less dent repair. Definitely cheaper, and if it is really bad they generally make it unnoticeable unless you are looking for it. Depending on how bad it is, should be $50-$150 to get fixed this way. I would not recommend anyone to try it themselves. Generally make it look worse then better. It takes about 6 months to be decent and several years to perfect.

Great find! I am now going to have to check my paperwork...

I did have X-Plan pricing, not sure of the timeline since I average 25k a year so it will expire by mileage first.

I have yet to use EV+ and seem to get great mpg. Personal opinion, it seems to be a carry over from the Energi. I could see it being more useful if you are able to plug in and charge a fully depleted battery.
-
I also deal with Boston traffic and get low 40s in it. I do agree with the stopped traffic. At least I get out of Boston 2-3 times a week to get my mpg up though.

I agree, to me a 3%-5% variance between the pump and car is acceptable. I just try to be consistent about it. I do love CPU mpg along with pump mpg. I am about -1 mpg according to the pump. Perfectly happy with those numbers. Puts the 19 mpg I used to get with my Highlander to shame.

2,200 miles in one month with my new C-max with the lifetime avg at 46.5 mpg. I run super also, but haven't needed the AC or heat since buying it except once maybe twice. My guesstimate is the weather. Reading on this forum, I just found out about changing the My View panel (left side) to show what the power draw is of everything in the car. I am expecting low 40s with the heat and cold and still will be more than happy. Glad to hear your mpg is increasing though!

The plan I bought was about $2200 for 100k with a $100 deductible. Rental after one day and for Ford dealerships only. Since I bought a new model in it's first year I expect some issues. The amount of gas I am now saving makes up for a few issues along the way. Time wise I am not sure, since I bought at the time of purchase. I would recommend it to anyone who has doubts about buying a hybrid like myself.

What kind of cell phone do you have?
KAL Cmax replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Verizon Motorola RAZR M no issues with MFT Sync 3.1.3. Although I can't reply back to a text through voice... I didn't even know it was possible -
I have only filled up 4 times. I do round up to the closest $0.25. So I don't think that would cause it, or maybe it would. Although it seems to come on at about a half tank when the EVAP check would cycle. Bringing it in Monday for the dealership to check. I will post the outcome.

I checked Engineering Mode also. Not sure why there is no code present. The check engine light came back on at 2,000 miles with the same issues.
-
Thanks for the info on how to add fuelly signature properly!
-
If you do have a check engine light on, all the vehicle health report shows online is just that. You are not able to see the codes. It does allow you to schedule an appointment online with a dealership though.
-
I've seen ads in the newspapers, no billboards or TV here in Massachusetts. It seems most dealerships near Boston stock at least 4 of the regular Cmax and at least 2 Energi versions.
-
I also notice a twitch, deems much more pronounced when changing from ICE to EV. It almost seems like the variable power assist doesn't increase resistance (decrease assistance) above 45 mph. Granted I did have a Toyota Highlander before, probably the only thing I miss from the Highlander is the steering and turn radius.
-
12.44 gallons at the pump 12 miles better to this tank than my last one. I was hoping for 650, but needed to fill up for work tomorrow. I also have had a check engine light on for P043E code. Hopefully with the update Monday and getting this check engine light fixed the Dealership won't kill my mpg.
-
Has any had this issue? Monday the 24th I have scheduled for my CEL checked out. This us the second time it has come on in 500 miles. I only gave 2,000 miles total. Also, they are updating MyFord Touch. Thanks

Half is interstate 95 with the rest city. This is a routine round trip. Jus a Cmax is right, you start noticing the inclines and declines that you never saw before. I should be getting approximately 630 miles to this tank.

Almost 60! I'll just blame the braking on being a Masshole driving, I should know. I use to be one until the mileage bug kind of bit me.
