Thought I would post my recent two trips. I live near Boston and these trips are a mix of highway and city driving. Stop and go with getting up at 75 mph when I could. Just some normal driving, not really paying attention to get the best mpg. No AC windows down. Oil change at 1,000 miles with synthetic. Mobil premium 93 octane. Tank reported avg 48.3 mpg at a 1/2 tank. Carrying about 150 lbs of equipment.

I just had my first flat tire today with 1500 miles on my car. Road construction, raised manhole covers do wonders to your side walls. So $225 lighter for a new tire and 3 hrs lost to towing just because I didn't have a spare. I also haven't had a flat tire that I needed a spare in almost 10 years, I know I've had to change one just can't remember it has been that long. I called Ford roadside assistance, I was told 75 mins until a truck arrived. This happened only 10 miles north of Boston. So I called AAA and 30 mins later they arrived. NTB National Tire and Battery had the OEM tire in stock. So it cost me an extra $20 to be towed 10 miles instead of free and I had the tire replaced on a Sunday. Oh well... so far, all the money I saved in gas just went to a new tire... I still love the car though.

Finally made it to 600 miles by 0.2 12.82 gallons at the pump for an average of 46.8 mpg

Would you buy the CMax if the advertised MPG was below 47/47?
KAL Cmax replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I checked out the reported mpg at approximately 40 mpg (just a mental average) when I bought mine 3 weeks ago. I have been getting better than 40 and hope to be around that during the summer highs with AC and winter season. -
I understand now... I thought you had meant there was a "shallow cup holder" as in console depth. I was hoping there was an insert missing to make the center console two tiers. Thank you for the insight.

http://www.zetaproducts.net/rear-bumper-protector-fits-2013-ford-c-max.aspx This is the one I installed. It doesn't cover all of the bumper, but will hopefully protect it against most damage when I am load and unloading equipment.

There is a shallow cup holder? If so I did not get one with mine. I am measuring 12" from bottom to the top of the center console.

I just bought my Cmax in May, built Sep 2012. I do not have the latest software installed (the hybrid info on MyTouch looks interesting). I have yet to have a battery issue and on my first full tank of fuel averaged 46 mpg. I do live in MA and the weather has nice also. I have read alot of issues blaming on early builds, not sure if this is considered under that. This is my first hybrid too.

I have android and use FuelLog (Paid Version). I keep track of the reported mpg, gallons used, EV miles and hours. I use the app for actual mpg, gallons filled, cost and maintenance recording. The app does not link to Fuelly although I contact the developer to see if the could do so. I am happy with the app and really haven't tried others.

I agree with you. I found putting my wallet between the parking brake and center console works when I take it out while in the car. I know it isn't a good place to leave it in the car though. I went to Target and picked up some of the middle size plastic tumbler glasses and put the in the front door panel cup holders. It fit very tightly, I had to "click" it into place. Works for what I need them for. I Have yet to really use the center console, I am afraid of what I might forget what I had placed in there.

I meant in my Highlander I had used cheap gas and Techron, in the Cmax I do use top tier now with super
-
It will cost me approximately an extra $5 a tank for super (93). Cheap compared to my previous 19 mpg SUV. I'll use super instead of putting a bottle of Techron in every oil change. I also decided to go with full synthetic oil also @ 10k mile intervals. I'll average 2.5 oil changes a year. I am curious if both super and full synthetic will increase the mpg.

I had my 4 yr old daughter with me and was sweating it on my way to the gas station. 21 more miles is all I needed. Hearing my daughter tell everyone that my car broke down (no gas) in my head made me stop trying to hit 600 miles. I am attempting this tank hopefully!

I traded in my 2002 Toyota Highlander V6 AWD averaged 19 mpg all day. I average about 25K a year and in 3 weeks have spent less than half of my Highlander would use. I am figuring about $300 a month in fuel savings. I have joined Fuelly now since I have a Hybrid and my last tank averaged 46 mpg.

They arrived and the paint match was perfect. I did have one chip in the mouldings. I called them, left a message and they called back in about an hour. They emailed me a return FedEx label and once I dropped of the return they had sent a new set one day later. I am very happy with the customer service and their understanding about concern. I just can't wait for the new set to show up. It takes about 4 Business days for delivery.

I talked to a Ford Sync tech on the phone about this. The car WiFi feature is only for the USB only data cards. After spending about an hour trying to set it up though my phone (Verizon Motorola RAZR M with a 10 GB data plan with Hot Spot) I call tech support. Hope this helps.

I just had Ford service my C-Max with 1,140 miles 525 engine miles (I just subtracted the EV miles from total miles). I went with full synthetic oil and will change it every 10k miles. Since I live in the North East, our weather and Boston driving is not considered "normal" conditions. So I will stick to the 10k oil change interval but with full synthetic. I know changing the oil early sparks debate, but it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling knowing I did. I average about 400 miles a week and far am getting 46 mpg without major driving habit changes. Staying under 65 mph is harderst though!

Just ordered a set from www.bodysidemouldings.com from the reviews posted here. I will post how they look when I get them.
