Glad you're well. If you should order the new Maverick plan on a looooong wait...

Are you referring to the European C-Max or the United States version? There is a difference.

Lost or stolen keyfob replacement
JAZ replied to monzg.OR's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Lost key fob for our 2013 C-Max and the key for our 2007 Focus along with house keys all at the same time, a rather lousy day. https://northcoastkeyless.com had fast delivery, detailed instructions and cost far less than dealership. Still had to take fob to a local locksmith ($ 50) for programming, but was able to easily program the Focus key myself. I believe the locksmith would have programmed additional fobs if I had wanted. -
Ditto...but not visiting the dealer means we won't be there drooling over the new Hybrid Escape.

I'm neither Paul nor do I play him on TV, but a 28% increase in fuel economy with a nominal 35% increase in tire pressure seems way our of line. Perhaps your wife is more of a pulse and glider?

Several of us on this board have changed the filter: there are YouTube videos that explain it succinctly. It's a bit fiddly, but quite doable. If you go for it, by all means wear gloves that protect from abrasion and refrain from expletives in front of small children. HOWEVER...for 25 bucks, it's a no-brainer to let them do it.

2013 Ford C-Max Hyrbid Vibrating at Certain Speeds
JAZ replied to amandac23's topic in General Discussion
Had a similar problem with my Ford Focus, ultimately fixed by replacing the Sway Bar Links. Not expensive and pretty much a DIY job. Good luck. -
Indeed, I'm in Michigan and at about 25,000 miles the air filter was showing very little dirt.

FYI the 2015 models likely started building in August 2014, so the battery might indeed be 5 years old.

Here's the 2020 ESCAPE Owner's Manual. Oil capacity increased from 4.5 to 5.3 qts. and no recommendation of 0W-20. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/owner_information/2020-Ford-Escape-Gas-HEV-PHEV-Owners-Manual-version_1_om_EN-US_07_2019.pdf

Also, if the nuts were loose enough, it's possible the alloy wheel bolt holes have been damaged through movement.

Have a 2007 Focus Wagon that had such bad carbon buildup on the throttle body that it was difficult to depress the accelerator. Got tired of 'slapping' pedal with my foot to accelerate and looked online for a remedy. Found suggestions for significant disassembly $$$ and cleaning. Finally just disconnected rubber boot from throttle body and wormed my fairly small fingers in there with a chopstick and rag and using plenty of throttle body spray cleaner dissolved the carbon, never again had a problem, over 20,000 miles ago.

How Many Miles did You get out of Your Michelin Energy Saver Tires
JAZ replied to ptjones's topic in Wheels & Tires
I had a Freestar with about 8 years on the original tires and got a low pressure warning enroute from Michigan to Texas (right near Mammoth Cave). Had the tire taken off and could feel the air leaking by passing back of my hand over sidewall leak area but absolutely could not see a hole. At the time had no idea that tires with plenty of tread could fail from old age, and so I had that tire replaced and continued on to our destination (and then back home) with the 3 other original tires. Traded that vehicle in on the C-Max shortly thereafter without even realizing how potentially hazardous those tires were. Never again. -
NAV Problem losing connection every couple of minutes.

Don't know where you get your Nav update cards, Paul, but I've often wondered if buying the fleabay knockoffs might not come with some sort of hidden hazard. -

Can't imagine dealership wouldn't stock such a common item.

How Many Miles did You get out of Your Michelin Energy Saver Tires
JAZ replied to ptjones's topic in Wheels & Tires
66K with perhaps 10K left, but I wanted no part of them on Michigan winter roads, so out they went a couple of weeks ago. They would occasionally lose bite when accelerating on wet roads also. Very good overall, but overpriced compared to competition (IMO). -
Additionally, if you're using an older version of the navmaps, it obviously won't recognize any addresses created since the last nav/map update.

Transmission to be replaced - have a question
JAZ replied to Catmobile's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Yep, just the sort of project I'd tackle during halftimes on Sunday football. j/k, of course. That's mighty impressive, ROCCO.
