From Discount Tire Direct:
Vehicle manufacturers recommend tire replacement at 6 years
Tire manufacturers' warranties expire at 6 years
Tire manufacturers recommend replacement at 10 years, regardless of tread depthI had a tire develop a pinhole leak midway on a long trip: I could feel the air leaking out of sidewall, but could not see a hole. Tire was not worn out but about 8 years old. Your Tire Mileage May Vary (YTMMV),

Tried posting link, no joy. Just Google C-Max Owners Manual or read the one in the glove box.

OEM Michelins are non-directional, other brands should be verified. Both front tires straight back, both back tires crossed to the front.

Interesting read, but not very encouraging.

Never found a nut I couldn't loosen or an automotive bolt I couldn't break with a 1/2 breaker, but there were times I wished I had a 3/4. How's that for a wafting answer?

Air filter won't be difficult, but some finesse and patience will be required. I'd strongly recommend wearing mechanics gloves if you've got 'em: finger flesh and dried blood add little to the underhood aesthetics...

Well, that was certainly chock-full of valuable information.

As mentioned in another post, I wasn't interested in experiencing the 'adventure' of being stranded with a dead battery, so I replaced mine after 4 1/3 years, though there was no indication of imminent failure. I garage it almost always and occasionally hooked it up to a charger during winter months.

Ditto, after a bit over 4 years and no problems I bit the bullet rather than find out the hard way how long it might last

I have always gotten the MFT battery saving shutdown message, even immediately after a 300 mile trip. I think it's just a precautionary feature. I just changed the original battery after 4 plus years, even though it was still functioning fine.

Had an ongoing issue much the same, dealer replaced Audio Unit, lasted about 10,000 miles and failed again in cooler autumn weather. Second replacement has lasted over 20,000 miles so far.
Work order reads:
18805E Audio Unit - Replace
(18806/18C815/18C869/18K931) - L
As a bonus, I found a sheet metal screw in the console.

If you're getting your info on Detroit from TV, radio or large newspapers you're getting propaganda. That pertains to most everything in those media.

Version 3 of Manual, page 285. I can't figure out how to copy and paste on this website,

2013 spec is 29" and 25". I've noticed to visibility issues.

85 - 90 MPH in Michigan???

Here in Michigan premium can cost 20% more than regular, so a 4% increase in fuel economy isn't economically justified...

Potentially far worse than most would like to believe:

Below is a quote from a cop who posts on Candle Power Forums. This was from the thread: Those Horrible and Illegal HID Conversions...Again
"I gladly introduce myself to people with HID kits, then I give them a date to come and make a donation to the state. If I catch them a second time, I give them a place to stay, and let them watch me remove the lights from their vehicle."
Don't know what state he is from.

After only 5-1/2 years I just today discovered that there was a clear plastic protector over the Climate Control panel. Wonder what else awaits my astute powers of observation?
