Had a somewhat similar problem, no audio whatsoever after parking in sun. Initial dealer 'fix' worked for several months, problem began anew in November, so I knew something else besides sun/heat was going on. Back to the dealer and this is what the work order stated:
Cause: 19C107
18805D Audio Unit Part Number - Acquire and order
(18806/18C815/18C869/18K931) - L
1 19C107
18805E Audio Unit - Replace
(18806/18C815/18C869/18K931) - L
Since that time (June 2014) I've experienced no further issues. My Max is a 2013 SEL delivered in Feb. of 2013.

raadsel, early on the 2013s were updated to permit speeds up to 85mph on the HV battery.

NOW you tell us! But thanks for the info, I was going nuts trying to find the update for my 2013 MFT: now I know it's current...but is an update in the works?

Hoping all the best for Adair, but she's been a long time silent...

Who changed the wiper blades last?

My 2013 SEL frequently (but not always) gives the 'shutting down to preserve battery' message a few minutes after turning off the ignition.

My View and the Trip 1/2 screens have separate resets.

Wish I knew, but you're a lot more gutsy than me...

Kelleytoons, thanks for the explanation of why my music suddenly began playing alphabetically. I had activated Gracenote without being aware of what other changes might be involved.

I've used Rock Auto also and purchased the Motorcraft filters.

snicker...

I presume you've positively identified the crankcase oil plug as opposed to any other. It's a right-hand thread and is removed in the conventional manner, 15 mm socket if memory serves.

The keyfob must be in close proximity (1 meter or so?) for the auto feature to work...unlikely the hatch would open and the keyholder be unaware...
-
0w20 oil is really of benefit only in cold temperatures and even then provides only a minor mpg boost. Mobil claims up to 2 to 2.3% depending on temps, vehicle/engine type, current viscosity used, etc.

Giving gov't. data on where we've been in our cars is already here, and anyone with a cellphone has been doing same for quite some time.

NOW you tell me!

True enough, shinytop, used to be remove a wingnut and there you were...but woe be to you if you tried 10,000 miles between oil changes. And unless you were headed down a mountain, no 60 mpg+ trips.

That's the correct link for the engine air filter replacement video. I did mine just a few days ago and completed the job in about an hour. With the proper skill and tools I would think it should take less than half that. Just be sure to gently press the soft gasket of the air filter fully into the housing. Only real problem I experienced was re-installing the large air filter housing under the cowl, but just as I was going to use the ultimate tool (obscene language) it slipped into place. BTW, at 24,500 miles the filter was surprisingly clean, though there were a few clumps of dirt resting in the bottom of the housing. Good luck.
