  1. Yes. Eliminating variables for MPH test is the only way. My data shows a correlation but is impacted, probably by mostly temperature.
  2. Yes. Here is the same diagram with a regression line and formula. Little over 2 for every 10 degrees.

  4. I have a 2013 SEL with the latest 3.6.2 (I think). It's been working great. Have an iPhone 6 and use it for music (Bluetooth, USB, Pandora) all the time and it hasn't skipped a beat. It will read my text messages. Siri works great so I can send texts if I need to. Update to the latest Nav, that works fine. Sirius radio is working great. Voice recognition can drive you crazy but all voice recognition can drive you crazy. I don't know, I feel like Ford finally got it debugged with the latest release. Getting good gas mileage. Happy as a clam. Been a great value.
  5. I've had the Weather Tech floor mats for over two years and they work great. The one downside is my wife likes to place her purse on the floor mat when we travel. In the winter the plastic mat holds the water and it pools when the car gets warm. We put a towel down on her side in the winter to absorb the water.
  6. Here is the same data set with MPG to Avg MPH. Some correlation but much less.

  11. I have no complaints. Been averaging over 50 MPG since it warmed up. I only get upper 30's in cold weather (live in Minnesota). I find it super comfortable and the headroom is great for a small car - it has a small SUV feel. The kids named it the Cardis after Dr. Who's Tardis because its bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. I find the acceleration more than adequate - much better than the Prius. Considering buying a used one for the girls who just got their licenses - lots of steals on the used car market.
  12. Hey thanks Paul. Was just signing in to fix it. 52 and 53 MPG today on the commute. I'll be over 50 for the remainder of the spring/summer. The C-Max is the ultimate commuter car.

The freeway is often congested so my average MPH is low but when its open I go with the traffic which is often over the speed limit. The CMax is designed as a commuter car and gets better mileage at lower MPH. Oops - table pasted fine but didn't render after submit.
  14. I have a very early 2013-SEL and never have had any of the quirky issues that are often reported in this forum. Also the stories about Ford dealers not responding to issues seems unusual to me as I've experience the opposite. My C-Max has been a quality car, my Ford dealership has been outstanding in their service, and I'm getting great mileage - averaging 48.5 (789 miles) for this month of April. Read my previous posts and you'll see I'm a true owner. I'm not pointing fingers, the C-Max has some complex technologies that I am sure owners have occasional issues, but I'm just saying when I hear about an unusual problem and that the dealer won't show love my radar goes up.
  15. Interesting article on the diesel C-Max in EU. Rated at 65 mpg. https://www.carkeys.co.uk/news/ford-c-max-2-0-litre-tdi-titanium-launch-report Why don't we see these cars in the US?
  16. Welcome. I predict you'll be getting in the 40's for mileage by end of summer. Takes some technique but becomes second nature after a while.
  17. I'm in Minnesota (Twin Cities) and the weather has been warmer than last year - still cold compared to most states. My commute has also increased to 32 miles one way. I've been averaging 41.5 MPG over the past 1200 miles. Last year at this time I was lower 30s. Reasons why ... No wicked polar vortex this winter.I do believe the longer the drive the less temperature impacts (but it does still have an impact). I had a shorter commute last year.I've been getting better and better at driving for optimal mileage. You've got to know when to punch it and know when to glide it (I always put that to a Kenny Rogers tune in my head)My goal this winter was to maintain over 40 MPG. I think I'll be there. I don't skimp on the heat - keep the car seats on the temp set at 70. I am very happy with the CMax this winter.
  18. Has anyone purchased the new A6 map for MyFord Touch on the CMAX? Ford's Navigation site is asking $150 for it. Wondering if there are any discount coupons.
  19. Just bought the Automatic OBD-II adapter for the C-Max. Very cool. It links to my phone when in the car via bluetooth and sends its data to a central web application in the cloud. The data it records is modest - GPS trail, miles traveled, MPG, gas cost, any engine issues. You can access all the data from a web site or the phone. I'll have a complete log of all my trips and gas used plus a record of any trouble codes experienced. Not nearly the wealth of data I've seen from some of the adapter and tablet apps but for the basics its easy and automatic. Really liking it so far.
  20. I'm in Minnesota. They pour so much salt on the road I think its worth it. I believe it holds off the inevitable body rust.
  21. I still have occasional issues with opening the locked driver's door. It only happens after I've opened and closed the rear hatch and then quickly try to unlock the driver side door. It is either that the sensor in the door handle doesn't sense the touch or the lock mechanism doesn't respond. If I experience the problem waiting 30 seconds resolves it. It's got to be a software thing.
  22. National public radio is also advertising regularly for the C-Max.
  23. Apparently the ETIS database is having problems. Worried that this may impact recalls and service appointments. I wonder if Ford can respond?
