  1. Thank you very much for the tip. I was able to find the Low pressure port after removing the wheel and felt it by hand. I added a little R-134a since I was worried about over-charging. I had temperature reading as low as 28F while the car was still in the air. Once rolling, however, I never got reading below 32F. I will try recharging again on a hot day. Ford engineers couldn't have made this more difficult. BTW, the remaining refrigerant from the hose had a green dye. Was it the same in your case?
  2. I have a 2013 C-max SE that I bought new. I'm thinking of upgrading to a used SEL with auto parking so that the new driver in the household would be able to park it on the streets with ease. However, it seems impossible to find a used CMax or even Fusion Hybrid with the automatic parking feature. I do not want to buy a new C-max because the depreciation is unreal especially for the loaded model.
  3. No, I tried fitting one in the junkyard. Some wires and fuses are missing. It may work if you custom wire it. Big disappointment
  4. take a look: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Ford-C-Max-/122559418725?hash=item1c891c5165%3Ag%3AwBcAAOSwN2VZSsLS&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=MWkq%252Bx5BMoG%252F9TfG4kEeWybV27Q%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  5. Absolutely, the Lithium Ion jumper helps and it fits in the door pocket. Lately my Torque App shows a steady 14.5V while driving. I remember it would dip into 13.x Volts before but not anymore. Lower voltage means there is less charging going on. Is this an indication of weak 12V battery? My 12V battery was changed once in 2014. I believe only the dealer carries this special size battery.
  6. If you lose 3 - 4MPG it's less than 10% loss. My monthly fill-up is currently about $80. I am willing to trade a few dollars per month for tires with better grip. The OEM tires are quiet; long lasting and efficient but they lack grip.
  7. Any taxi shops in your area? those guys service them day and night
  8. It seems only Motorcraft carries the battery but I may be wrong. Can the 12V battery be lifted up easily from where it is located?
  9. I agree but I can't tell if the rear brakes engage during regenerative braking.
  10. My brakes look the same as the ones shown in Post #1, braking performance is still excellent and I use Mechanical brake once in a while with tranny in Neurtral. You've got a good dealer because my local dealer gave me a lot of BS about it and wanted me to change the pads and rotors for a lot of money
  11. As an alternative I added aftermarket foglights and covers to my SE.
  12. Thank you very much. Does your AC blow ice-cold on hot days now? I have two cars and I noticed the CMax does not blow cold enough on hot sunny days since day 1.
  13. There are lots of retiring 2013 CMax SE yellow cabs in NYC with apprx. 150K mi. The fleet owners or drivers could provide durability information if we can identify them.
  14. I was surprised they didn't get the transmission replaced under the 8yr/100K warranty when it failed below 100K. The long term VW TDI reports show consistent AC and other failures too. Even the Long term Prius is not trouble-free either.
  15. I think it has to do with the environmentally friendly material of the wires/harnesses the new cars use. The unsold VW TDIs sitting in the lot are facing the same problem.
  16. My second baby is due in June and I must part with my CMax soon. When I bought the car new in 2013 I was still single. I can't fit all the baby gears and adult passengers in the CMax anymore. 17. It could be that they tested the car during winter months. It's nice of them that they came up with the favorable review when the CMax is reaching its end of life.
  18. Paying $500 more to gain 4MPG / lose tire grip / lose a valuable spare tire while gas is below $2/gal is ____________-.
  19. $800 premium is good if you factored in reduced brake wear; lack of engine drive belts on top of higher MPG%. Best of all it is AWD and comes with a spare tire
  20. All of you forgot to mention resale value of a RAV4 vs. a CMax. Having AWD with the designation of "SUV" will attract buyers without any effort. Toyota buyers typically do not care about the performance of their vehicles. I wish Ford had named the USDM C-Max Hybrid as Escape or Focus Hybrid back in 2013 so that at least people would take a look at it.
  21. How's the tire noise of the Pirelli compared to the OEM Michelins?
  22. Gas is dirt cheap and if I were to change tires now it would not be LRR tires. The car can benefit from better grip in dry; wet; braking and cornering. The only drawback maybe more road noise.
