  1. The reason I was asking is because electricity is more than $.20/kw where I am.
  2. How much electricity does it consume to achieve 2MPG?
  3. Do the gas pods help maintain a clean liftgate? I have owned a number of Hatchbacks and the CMax seems to accumulate the most amt. of dirt in the back. I had a dust spoiler for my 1992 Legacy Wagon and the liftgate was always clean.
  4. I get 44MPG average for the past 5000 miles since new driving in NYC / Upstate NY / CT roads. Cold weather is MPG killer. I can do much better in warmer months.
  5. It could also be that the Gas Pump's display was inaccurate; or you were filling up on a slight incline without knowing. I was wondering when CR did the MPG test. This week we went from 30Fs to 70F. I drive the same route (25 miles of NYC traffic from South Brooklyn NYC to North Bronx NYC) and on the cold day I got 40MPG; while the same route on a warm day I got 50MPG. Same tank of gas too and one occupant.
  6. 4 days after I got my SE it died in my garage due to dead battery. I happen to sleep at the 2nd level above the garage and had my Bluetooth on that night. Since then I turn off Bluetooth when I get home and dead battery hasn't come back. I don't know if the Bluetooth were to blame.
  7. How abou this? I was surrounded by 3 Cmaxs' in front of World Trade Center Construction site in Manhattan, too bad the cab on my mirror was not another Cmax.

  9. Could be due to the Differential in the transaxle. I haven't experienced pulling during braking.
  10. No, I average about $.075 cents per mile and it's cheaper for me to drive around in NYC than taking the subway.
  11. I think "Cost per mile" is better than either MPG or MPGe. Electricity rates vary a large margin throughout the country.
  12. Energi model only makes sense if you have low electricity rates. In NYC it is more than $.20/kilowatt and there is usually no off-peak rate. It is cheaper for me to fill up the CMax with regular gasoline than paying for electricity charges. For local trips about 20 miles without high speed driving I can get 49+MPG easily with the regular Cmax
  13. I am wondering if the power Front Leather seats from the SEL would be a plug-and-play for the SE in case I find a cheap set from the junkyard. It looks like the Ford Escape seats are exactly the same as the CMax also.
  14. Some Ford dealers include lifetime oil changes with new car purchases. My former VW dealership was also the same (even synthetic oil)
