  1. how much dealer processing fee or documentation fee did you pay?
  2. I didn't have MFT and my camera setup cost me less than $50 in parts. I mounted a screen on top of the cargo cover plastic and I can see the reflected image on my rearview mirror (or turn my head backward).
  3. I added a backup camera and backup sensors myself for little money; but it involved lots of labor. What I meant to say is the lack or expensive to get backup camera deters more potential buyers
  4. .........and yet it does not help the resale value one bit. And no one cares about a new CMax in the showroom given the low gas price and lack of marketing/design updates. 2016 CMax still requires a hefty option package in order to get a backup camera; unbelievable.
  5. Let me share with you how I warm my engine faster without any add-ons. I have 2-3 miles of very slow roads before getting onto the hwy. After a cold-start, I put my car in "L" and drive away(slowly), engine warms faster and my MPG increases by about 2-3 for the whole trip. The heat also comes on faster this way. However, this method won't work if your need to drive at high speed right after a cold start otherwise the rev is too high. I got 50MPG this morning driving 40miles.
  6. I think the stock 225 width LRR tires already lack adequate grip especially under emergency braking. Going with an even lower RR tires and width decrease may make matter worse.
  7. I have a spare donut strapped in my trunk with a compact jack under the rear floor. You can do the same. I also added backup camera and backup sensors myself with not much $$.
  8. What tires are on your car and how old are they? How about the road condition?
  9. There are shady mechanics who charge a fee to roll back digital odometer. It's a Federal crime but they can care less.
  10. You didn't have to take '240K' literally and seriously. The question is whether the mileage was rolled back in case the car was bought used. Only the Topic starter can let us know and no one was asking this question.
  11. Odometer rollback exists and my post was first trying to find out if the car was bought new or not. In case the car was bought used, then the rotor/pad wears are suspiciously high for only 24K of use. Investigations should follow about the previous owner and seller. If the car were bought new then the above speculation can be ignored and focus on the mechanical aspect of the problem. How is this response wild and unthoughtful?
  12. Did you buy your car used? Maybe the car 240K on it with the odometer rolled back to 24K. I suspect this is the case.
  13. Despite the scratched rotors in the back, I still have no brake noise; no brake dust and braking performance is quite good. I need to find another parked CMax and check out the rear rotors. I think mine was a result of lack of use since I scored pretty decent in Regen. braking. I have seen a no. of NYC CMax cabbies with very dusty wheels as a result of aftermarket pads.
  14. I do use downhill assist almost all the time but there are times when I want to drive the car with friction braking only. The pedal pressure is much less sensitive and a lot more linear with friction braking.
  15. Just wondering....... The braking feel is dramatically improved with friction braking only. I drive on some mountainous areas and I wish there is a way to disable regen. braking while I'm carving the canyon.
  16. Dealer told me my rear rotors are done. They didn't even take out the wheels to measure the thickness of the rotors. I'll probably never go back there again.
  17. here are the photos of my front and rear rotors: I have been very easy on the brakes for 41K Mile: Front Rotor: Like New Rear Rotor: Looks like it is due for replacement Rear Brake wear, plenty of pads left: Once again there is no loss in braking performance but Dealer said I should change the rear brake pads and rotors.
  18. Cold weather affects all Hybrids' FE. It is worse for the CMax with the lack of a grille blocker. I made my own using a few dollars of foam material.
  19. Difference is, in 2013 gas prices were high therefore Hybrid prices were high too. Idiots who cannot drive and complain cost us money. 47MPG is achievable by paying attention to the driving technique and grille blocker in the winter. I did 50+MPG yesterday with no AC; no traffic on a 28 mile trip in NYC.
  20. I believe if Ford USA had named the car as Focus Hybrid or Escape Hybrid it would sell a lot more. Only Europeans know what a C-Max is; not Americans.
  21. So what if there are grooves on the rear rotors while the pads are only half worn? I haven't noticed any decreased braking performance. In fact, I like the stock pads / rotors because there is zero squeak and dust. Just take a look at some European cars and you will see how bad some of them are.
  22. I drive in NYC and the nearby suburbs. In the suburbs the drivers are mostly tame and the roads are nice. Braking performance is never an issue and braking is more predictable. It's an entirely different story once you are in NYC. If I drove mostly suburbs I would find the braking performance to be adequate also.
  23. No I do not do much hard braking, in fact my brake score is usually 95% or higher. I do drag the brake a bit (regen braking) compared to driving regular cars. My rear rotors look like they have grooves on the disc surface. That's why I wanted to know if the rear brake functions or not during regenerative braking.
