I would think she could get 40-45mpg without working very hard on the gas mileage. Just keep it under 70mpg and it shouldn't be a problem. IMO :) Paul

I heard the same 10 year rule too and they are making a lot more in Europe. :) Paul

Filled up at SAM's today 13.25gal, 710.8mi. and 53.63mpg. YA :yahoo: First 700mile tank this year. My last tank I got 48.3mpg with Techron fuel injector cleaner, this tank I gained 5.3mpg over last. WOW :yahoo: and my Life Time went up another .1mpg. So it looks like the Techron Injector Cleaner works after using it. Friday I will be driving to San Diego for a few days working and then coming back, about 5000 miles total. Will be stopping in AZ both ways. :) Paul

I believe the 2014 don't show this and people are disappoint because of it. I would be. ;) Paul

Best Engine RPM for minimal FE loss.
ptjones replied to John Sparks's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
viennacoup, you are getting close to P&Ging(Pulse and Glide) where you speed up(TWO BARS, don't worry about RPM's) to 60mph (55mph speed limit road) then Glide(coast) down to 50mph and bring in the EV power to stabilize at 50mph. When you run out of HVB accelerate(TWO BARS) back to 60mph. You need to watch traffic so you don't become an annoyance. This is the method I used to get 65mpg on to tanks. :) :shift: Paul- 99 replies

It works the same. :) Paul

I looked at my rotors too and they are the same. The manual says regen is disabled when ABS is working, but by the looks of the rotors the computer figures in regen braking into the 70% front brakes and the rear brakes do more braking than the fronts. Maybe the front brakes only work in ABS Mode. IMO :) Paul

It appears my LifeTime was not reset. I have 80% HWY and that is why I have the numbers I have. I coast a lot so I should have a 20% Score so that is why I think it scores the time you have your foot on the brake and the brake coach is spinning. :) Paul
-
I thought the Regen Score was for braking only. I thought rear braking only happens when front brakes are working. :) Paul
-
I would think you would have higher percentage of Regen miles with higher percentage of City driving. You don't normally use brakes on the FWY. But you still can have high percentage EV miles even with 80% HWY miles. My example is 53541mi total, 23371.6 mi. EV, 1439.4mi. Regen, life time MPG 46.2 and BS 98%. Which gives me 44% EV and .027% Regen. I went back through most of my City Driving IPhone Pics and found one with a 15% regen score and a few with 10% score so I guess if you only did City driving and were good at hypermiling you could end up with a impressive 10% Regen Score. :shift: Paul

Well I did the math and it comes out 1st there are a few non Hybrids stuck in with the average MPG's. 2nd there are 328 hybrids listed with 52 with no average. 3rd there are 66CMAX's with 37mpg or worse mpg's. 4th divid 66 by 276 you get 24%. So you are in the bottom 1/4 on Fuelly. Plus 3 Golfer it is interesting that we came up with the same numbers using to different approaches. jmckinley the offer is still open if you make it down this way. :) Paul

It sounds like some people have had solutions to their battery problems. There are several things to look for, have you PM Ashley our Ford Rep.? :) Paul

Not using brakes gets the best MPG's, but at some point you will need to stop. LOL I take corners faster (which bugs my wife, my grandson likes it. LOL)so I don't have to use the brakes. After a while you will get use to the seat of your pants feel to tell you if you are braking to hard. :) Paul

If you ever end up in the Atlanta Area I would like to test your car on my test route if you are interested. Nobody I know gets that kind of Mileage. :) Paul

hybridbear are you monitoring inverter temps? If so do you see a difference in inverter temps with cover on and off? I do recommend removing lower cover first, it's worth 5 degress on WT, I need to test how much of a difference it makes on A/C. I don't close off the Top Grill to the ICE compartment to allow some outside air flow around electronics and Hybrid components. The advantage of LEXAN cover over foam is less areo drag, improved MPG's. Also my Grill Covers only take a few seconds to put on or off as compared with foam minutes and they look better too. IMO :) Paul

I checked FORD Fusion web site and the best eco-boost HWY mileage is 37mpg and your Fuelly average 36.9mpg. I also noticed your best tank on Fuelly was 42.8, good gas mileage. I'm sure the Fusion wasn't getting that good. BTW I don't know if you calculated the difference of actual miles(GPS) vs odometer reading, which is off by about 1.5% or .5mpg to the better which would compute out to 37.4mpg. Not great but still better than ECO Boost Fusion. Have you any idea why your gas mileage isn't great? It looks like you have gotten good gas mileage several times in the past on Fuelly. :) Paul

I was wondering if you actually had the 12v battery go dead with a trickle charger connected? :) Paul

What's in your C-Max today?
ptjones replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
OK FORD when are you going to come out with a CMAX Truck? It is very obvious fotomoto needs one. LOL :) Paul -
My Dealer hasn't had a CMAX on the lot in 6monthes but has had several FFH, I think they just stopped carrying them after MPG change. Paul

Welcome to the FORDCMAXHYBRIDFORUM. We have Members on this forum that tow CMAX's, do a search for towing. :) Paul

It's been over a year and as far as I can tell for me quick slow down and then quick speed up. Mine was white smoke. :) Paul
-
It's the 12v battery that is going dead and not the Hybrid battery. Electronics run off the 12v battery and if it's dead nothing works. I would get trickle charger or jumper battery and then complain to FORD about your problem. :) Paul

Made about 100mi. on Highways around Atlanta yesterday speeds of 80-55mph( speed limits don't mean anything here) and averaged 51mpg. My average on this tank was 55.6mpg before the trip. :) Paul

I didn't realize we were turning this into a competition. LOL It takes one second to peal off my Cover, 29 seconds to go the back of MADMAX open the hatch and rip off summer Cover off the back of back seat and install it over grill. LOL I wish you had a ScanGauge so you could tell what temp you are getting too. I have had many long steep grades(CA & AZ) and highest temp I have been able to get to is 240*F once.I still think the Top Mark on the WT gauge is 245*F. It is amazing how just slowing down 5-10 mph can drop WT 10-15*F. I'm going to San Diego next weekend for a week so I will be able to do more testing. Today I went about 100mi. on the Atlanta Fwys going between 75-60mph and averaged 51mpg per Smart Gauge. :) :shift: Paul

This is why I supply a second Grill Cover with small cut over grill intake and still get areo improvement. It only take 30 sec. to go from one grill cover to the other. :shift: I still haven't been able to get the overheating message with full cover yet. Paul
