  1. Also they should be keeping the cars on the lot charged. :) Paul
  2. I would raise your Tire PSI to 48-50 psi to lessen edge wear and I think alignment is very important. Both of my sets of my Michelin sets of tires were noisy at 40-50K , but I got 64k out of them. BTW the Michelin's are good all around performance tires and get the Best MPG's. :) I would recommend crisscrossing them so that they wear in both directions. :) Paul
  3. I actually tested K&M vs Factory filters on Post #27 and I have one in my CMAX with around 135K mi. on it. The Test filter is for a chevy silverado, It looks like our is about as big. :) The K&N filter has a lot more surface area as compared to factory filter. It don't think the K&N helps MPG's much, I do think it helps HP and it will last for ever. My old filter wasn't that dirty. Paul
  4. FORD went to 0W20 so I'm thinking there must be a reason why. MPG's is the only thing I can think of. Again with 131k mi. with very little to none oil usage, I can't see any reason not too. :) Paul
  5. Plus 3 Golfer is right and it goes along with what BlackStone Labs is saying, no reason to change your oil until it starts to break down. I have 131k mi. on my CMAX and it doesn't use a noticeable amount of oil in 24K ODO miles(11k ICE miles) and the Mobil 1 0w-20 was still good, Mobil claims up to 15k mi. per oil change. :) Paul
  6. Don't waste your money. change oil every 10K miles, I'm going 15k ICE miles next oil change, because I'm testing my oil. :) Your CMAX will go into EV once it gets to 128*F, operating temp is above 202*F for best MPG's according to FORD. :) Paul
  7. I was thinking racing, but I hate to lose to much energy in the corners so I will take corners faster If the wife isn't in the car and sometimes when she is. She doesn't appreciate it, Ouch! Then I try to use EV coming out of the corner. The less charging you do getting into the corner, the more efficient you are. :) Paul
  8. +1 I also agree that tires are your problem, you are down probably 4 mpg with those tires. ;) Paul
  9. Do you think that makes up for the extra 260lbs (7% extra weight)and higher CG? We've checked and the suspensions are the same. I did find weight distribution of 57.7% Front and 42.3% Rear from Edmund's. Doing the math NRG is 54/46%. :) Paul
  10. With front wheel drive don't you want the weight up front on the driving wheels? In acceleration weight transfers to the back, making the front end lighter and back heavier. Yet you need the weight on front for traction for FWD. ;) Paul
  11. I usually go to view new content and then notifications w/Chrome. :) Paul
  12. I also agree with 50psi which I have been doing for 110k mi. BTW tire starts out at 9.5/32 so I would have done the same as you. :) Paul
  13. I would think the center of gravity would be lower in Hybrid, plus 260 lbs lighter. I really don't notice the front end being that much heavier than the back. :) Paul
  14. I use Chrome and FireFox, Not I.E. Paul
  15. This seems to be a dealer problem, they don't know how to sell Hybrids and FORD isn't motivated Paul
  16. I found this in FFH Forum: "run flat bridgestone driveguard tires. The tires are quieter and handle much better than the michelin energy savers. they are very quiet too. i was worried the gas mileage would go down alot with a run flat w speed rated tire. to my surprise the mileage is about the same and thats with the oem recommended 35 psi. im wondering if i boost the pressure alittle if i can do even better. overall, a highly recommended tire and im generally a die hard michelin guy. No worries if anyone wants the security of run flats since we do not have a spare. go for it" I wonder how accurately they're measuring their gas mileage, but I thought I'd pass this on.FWIW :) Paul
  17. Interesting idea and it would be helpful if someone would commented on this. I would think a full size spare would sit on top of battery, might have to put the larger section rear seat down. ;) With 131k mi. with no flats and only two slow leaks from nails or screws so I guess I've been lucky. I think it has been atleast 10 yrs since I've had a blowout . :) Paul
  18. There was someone on the NRG forum that was messing with Li batteries, not sure how far he got. :) Paul
  19. Frank, I don't if you are monitoring this, but I will be in your area Tuesday afternoon if you want to meet. :) Paul
  20. If you are concerned about getting a flat, getting one of the small spares maybe the answer. Keep in mind you are going to take a pretty bad hit in MPG's if you go from the Michelin Energy Savers. ;) Paul
  21. It is hard to figure why Car Companies make the decisions they do, but in FORD's case they don't have a vehicle that can take the CMAX's place. The Focus is to small and doesn't have the truck space. The Escape is a small SUV and doesn't get the MPG's. They would have to come out with a Hybrid Escape. IMO :) It looks like there will be a 2017 CMAX before they move the factory. Having driven 2011 and 2016 Prius the CMAX is so much more fun to drive. :) Paul
  22. What the heck, they need to make this more user friendly, Frank don't give up Please! :sos: Someone needs to figure out a solution. ;) Anyone have any ideas? :detective: Paul
  23. I didn't know that there was any Drive-Ins left. LOL :) Paul
  24. Frank I think it was Extended Performance from Walmart. BTW this time I decided to use up some old bottles of Mobil 1 10W-40(QT 1 1/2), (1/2 Qt 0w-20EP) and (2-1/2 0w-20AFE). Averaged 54mpg on last tank(over700mi.) with new tires. :) BTW Fuelly went up another .1 mpg. I guess it will be interesting to see what BlackStone Labs comes up with next time. :headscratch: Paul
