How to Drive a CMAX Hybrid/FFH to get Great Gas Mileage
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
It is interesting that MPG's keep going up with temps(88-94*F), lunch time I went up to Atlanta and back(48 mi. one way on I-85/I-20) not using A/C and front windows open a couple of inches. I averaged 59.5 mpg going up and 63.5 mpg going back in medium traffic, no stop and go. My tank averaged started with 59.5 mpg and ended with 60 mpg/ 323 mi./ 212 mi. EV. It is amazing how much MPG's are affected by outside temperature.? Paul -
Contemplating storing it at Son-in-laws home shop for Grandson for 3 yrs. ? Is anyone else getting a FEH/plugin besides "fbov"? Paul

Just heard from my Sales Manager that My 2020 FORD Escape Hybrid Plugin is scheduled to be build Aug. 24, 2020, He thinks it will be the first one for the Atlanta Area because it was listed #1 for this area. Will probably show up first part of Sept.? Paul

My backup camera system isn't working at all, it must be a computer problem, there is nothing on the screen at all. It did this before, but came back in a few days. It hasn't been working for a week or so now. I really don't want to spend any money on it. I hope my FEHPlugin will come in by Sept. Don't know how much longer MADMAX can go, 252K mi. now. Paul

In 252k mi. I have never had a flat tire, I think I have had 3 screw/nails in my tires and were patched. Had one with hole to far up the sidewall to be patched, but still held air, tire was pretty much worn out so I replaced it. Mini spare is optional with Escape plugin. Paul

From what I have read the ICE at best is 25- 30% efficient with 30% heat losses into the cooling systems and 30% out the exhaust pipe. The remaining losses in the mechanical systems. Paul

ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Filled up today 54.6MPG , 13.1 gal and 716 mi. with some A/C and rain. This included trip back from Knoxville, TN and and round trip to Atlanta. Paul -
Thanks for finding this Guide, I printed it out so I can read it.? Paul

My Sales Manager just talked to FORD scheduling person and she said she didn't know when the 2020 FEHP would go into production. Need to catch up with previous orders first. She did say eMustang, Bronco and 2021 F150 would be coming out in the Fall. Paul

Only time I would use that feature would be going down hill or I needed to heat up the cabin. Using the ICE isn't very efficient. Paul

Post Your Life Time MPG's, Total Mi., EV mi., Regen mi. and Brake Score
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
Well it took 6 months to go up another tenth to 50.7 MPG with 252k miles. ? Part of the reason it took so long was I had a bad trip during the winter, I drop to 50.5 mpg and had to work my way back to 50.6 mpg. Paul -
How Many Miles did You get out of Your Michelin Energy Saver Tires
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Wheels & Tires
No free lunch. It matters what your priorities are. I'm still happy with the Michelin's and getting up to 90k miles. Wish they had Michelin's to fit the FEHP. Paul -

You should be able to see if it looks like the Eng./trans. have been removed from car. You can look at where the ICE and Trans bolt together for signs of being disassembled. Paul -
How to Drive a CMAX Hybrid/FFH to get Great Gas Mileage
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Well with the Corona Virus slowing things down and 22 days since last fill up I ended up with 50% City, 58.8 mpg/776.2 mi./ 13.2 gal. the Best MPG in year and a half.? I could have made it to 800 Miles with about .7 gal. left. Paul -
FORD.COM has 2020FEH Plugin info, I looked and I couldn't find the block heater 41H option for $95. And there was a $645 Acquisition Fee too that wasn't on my Dealers Preview order. I'm sure we are at least 2 months yet. They did have available incentives at $8,115. Then - $1400 for the X Plan I maybe looking around $31,000 Paul

Mine rear noise seems like the brakes, but it makes clunk when I backup and stop. Then when I go forward creak and that's it. I thought maybe suspension, but it would be doing all the time. Shocks should be making noise all the time too. Paul

The Trans has a lot of parts, motors, gears, bearings and electronics. All these parts are going to fail with time and mileage, an driver for Hotel with CMAX had 350k mi., but didn't have anymore info. I believe the bearings are the weakest link and when they go the gears go. Paul

I do have over 150k mi. on my second trans, got 98k mi. out of my first one. I'm wondering how long do owners think a trans should last? In fifty years I have never had a FORD past 100k mi. which I considered a life expectation for a car. With 250k miles on my CMAX I feel like I got an extra free CMAX, I definitely got my moneys worth.? Paul
