  1. With my work I travel a lot sometimes and I do have a Daughter and Grandson in Surprise and in-laws in Williams. We lived in Flagstaff for 25yrs. so we are back 4-6 times a year at 3500 mi. each time. The ICE is great not using a noticeable amount of oil in 11,400 ICE miles. I did have the Trans replaced at 98K mi. Maybe we can get together next time I'm out there. :) Paul
  2. I will have to try that out. Thanks :) Paul
  3. After doing the 15E03 yesterday It doesn't appeared to affected my FE, I still see 50"s, 60's, and 70's MPG trips and average is going up. :yahoo: Paul
  4. I noticed in N HVB SOC still goes down while coasting. So at some point the ICE will start when SOC is to low. ;) Paul
  5. Well I got updated today so we will see if I notice any difference in MPG's. I did fill up prior to having oil changed and as usual they killed my FE. Something to work on. ;) Paul
  6. Finally had my oil changed, AZ trip extended my duration, so I ended up with 25,400 mi. ODO and 11,400 mi. ICE.using Mobil 1 0-20W full synthetic Oil. Still hadn't used a noticeable amount of oil. Sending my oil sample off to Blackstone Labs. :) Paul
  7. Frank in case you didn't notice I PM'd you. :) Paul
  8. It takes awhile to learn all the special things this car can do. When learned you can get impressive FE. It all takes practice. :) Paul
  9. I shipped out today all Grill Covers ordered by members and they should have them by Thursday according to USPS. I do have a few sets left for those interested, I'm excepting Pay Pal and checks for payment. I'm sure CMAX members would appreciate hearing from those getting them about their results. :) Paul
  10. I don't think anyone was talking about heating the HVB in this thread, but that happens automatically anytime the HVB discharges or Charging from the ICE. I have monitored HVB temps with the ScanGaugeII to see what temp the fan turns on. HVB works better when cold than hot. :) Paul
  11. I would say that is very good Hypermiling FE without Grill Covers and wheel covers. It would seem to me your CMAX is working just fine. :) Paul
  12. Are you the only one with the problem? How long did it take to show up? Maybe buying a low mile used one could be the solution? Just thinking out loud. LOL I would think the chances are very small and you like your CMAX. Good Luck! :) Paul
  13. It would have been nice if they figured out what's causing the noise. ;) Paul
  14. What speed were you driving on the FWY and OT? :) Paul
  15. At 116K mi. now and everything is working and using the NOS Octane Booster really helped my FE and it was already great. :) Paul
  16. With the ScanGaugeII I don't have to look down. Watching Smart Gauge HVB gauge even at 32%SOC the SG registers 20%, at 40%-50% SOC SG reads about 50% and 60%SOC SG reads close to 100%. I have seen 80%SOC after sitting over night in the garage, it had 55% SOC when shut it off. :) Paul
  17. When you first start out you will have two functions that will automatically happen, first at 35mph the ICE will start even when the ICE is hot, this is to lubricate the trans., second the ECM wants to get ICE WT to 128*F before allowing EV operation. So quite often I will start out in EV Mode from my house and accelerate to 35mph depleting the HVB in the process then recharge HVB while ICE warms up to 128*F. You might consider Grill Covers to heat the ICE up faster and improve your mpg's. :) Paul
  18. I just remembered when ordering Grill Covers I need to know if you need to install License Plate on center Grill Cover. :) Paul
  19. Another way to look at it is the less time the ICE is running, the less gas you use and the better your MPG's. Using P&G I would accelerate about 2 Bars to predetermine speed, then glide to desired speed and then use EV. I only used ICE 28% of the time when I got my 68.3mpg tank. :) Paul
  20. With the ScanGaugeII I see a difference in the timing between using Reg and Premium, the more time the fuel has time to burn, the more complete combustion and better MPG's by about 2mpg. :) Paul
  21. I used GPS to monitor speed and used Trip Summary for distance,EV mi., Regen mi., MPG and Brake score. Used car's Temp Gauge to monitor Outside Temp. I have a 14.2mi. FWY Loop from my shop and back. Some of the Data Points are an average of two or more tests. I also controlled starting temp to eliminate that as variable. I did this testing almost three years ago. :) Paul
  22. I just got a reminder notice, but I'm afraid that it might affect my FE. What to do? :future: :headscratch:  I'm getting very good FE! :yahoo: I wonder if my ECM is going to have to learn to be smart again? :shift: ;) Paul
