  1. 13.9-14 galllons is what the tank will hold if you run it where the gas pickup can't pickup anymore and then fill it up depending on how level the car is. The CMAX and FFH have about .5 gallon extra room. I have actually tested these cars to come up with these numbers. :) Paul
  2. Just a reminder CMAX has 13.9-14gal tank, how many gallons did it take? Just got a 718mi tank(actual 733.8mi) 12.86g(actual13.2g, two clicks) and 55.7 vs 55.6mpg actual. BTW I'd try Premium to if you can tell the difference. :) Paul
  3. Good job! :yahoo: You could have gone another 30mi. at least. LOL :happy feet: When you reach 0E miles to empty you should be able to go 30miles farther. :shift: Paul
  4. Jus uses Premium. :) I think we have been over this in the pass. Our CMAX's come with knock sensors to tell the ECM to retard timing of the ICE to stop harmful detonation . The higher the octane of gas the more you can advance the ICE ignition timing and the better your MPG wii be. SS said: "Over 60% of your fillups changed more than 2 mpg from the previous one and some by 5 mpg so I don't see how a 2 mpg jump from a "malfunctioned" pump is all that significant. " With 177 fillups I'm amazed you spent the time to figure that out. LOL :lol2: I usually have notes on my Fillups on Fuelly to note drivings conditions, Like temps, rain, winds, snow, Gas used, A/C use, where I fillup etc. In my travels around the country I get better MPG's in some areas than others, I can tell very quickly after fillup whether my MPG's are improving or getting worse which can be caused by the fuel used. A/c use on short trips kills MPG's. Rain is an another MPG's killer. And as we all know Temperature can have a big effect on FE, I remember one trip during the winter coming back from AZ, I gassed up in FT Smith,AR and it was 65*F, but by the time I got to Memphis(200mi. later), it was 35*F and my FE dropped by at least 6mpg. Bottom line is there are a lot of factors that effect FE which you don't have control over, but driving style is one you can control and can have a big effect on MPG's too. :) Paul
  5. Here it is 9% for a 4% improvement in MPG's good enough for me. On this thread it is all about getting the best mileage( 600+ Mile Club) on a tank of gas, it doesn't matter how you do it. In Alaska all they have is Ethanol Free. :) :shift: Paul
  6. SnowStorm I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. My experience is that I use Premium pretty much exclusively with ethanol free only when I'm trying to break my record, it is just to expensive to use regularly. About a month ago I filled up at BJ's and the pump malfunctioned and gave me Regular instead of Premium and my gas mileage dropped 2mpg for that tank. It was so obvious the before filling up I was getting 55mpg and after 53mpg. Ethanol Free is worth about 1mpg more than Premium. With 177 fillups I know my car pretty well. :) Paul Paul
  7. It has been at least 12k mi. , 6k mi. ICE since I changed the oil and it looks like I haven't used any oil. Used Mobil 1 0W-20, 105K mi. on the car and 55K on the ICE. :) Paul
  8. Are you running 50PSI and Premium? You might look in to making Grill Covers +2-4mpg. :) Paul
  9. Raise your tires to 50PSI, Use Premium and go to 0 E(Zero miles to empty, you can go at least 20 miles past E and I have gone 60mi.). Good Luck and good job! :yahoo: Paul
  10. I checked again and I did use Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W-20 which I got at Walmart. Mobil 1 web site recommends 0W-20 for 2015 CMAX. ;) Paul
  11. You didn't say how old your wife was if she is the driver. LOL :) Paul
  12. Last night I noticed on the Bristol Race Mobil was advertising up to 15Kmi. on a oil change with Mobil 1. This is what their site Has for CMAX: "Based on what you've told us, your vehicle manufacturer recommends a 5W-20 viscosity and oil that meets Ford WSS-M2C945-A. We offer these motor oils to help protect your vehicle. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-20 Advanced full synthetic formulation that provides outstanding wear protection to extend engine life Guarrenteed protection for up to 15,000 miles" :) Paul
  13. I knew it was missing something. LOL ;) Paul
  14. Great Job, looks like you got the hang of it now. :) Paul
  15. I would think the brakes could last the life of the car, because of Regen Braking. I just looked at my 105Kmi. old brakes and they could pass for new with machined marks still on them and no grooves. :) Paul
  16. Another note is that TFT goes down with OT, pretty much a direct correlation, one for one degree OT. :) Paul
  17. It looks like the average is approximately 55 doing the Math. :clapping: I'm not sure what that means. :headscratch: LOL Paul
  18. Good Job HPRifleman! :yahoo: As it turns out yesterday I went up a tenth too! So even with 105Kmi. you can still go up! :happy feet: Paul
  19. On the FWY when ICE stops I believe coolant heats up at the top of ICE because of lack of circulation and the cylinder heads are the hottest part. I see about a 2*F increase in WT, after about 30 seconds temps start going down with a usual drop of 4-15*F depending how long you are in EV Mode. Also temps go down a few degrees when the ICE starts because of circulating cooler coolant with hotter at the top of ICE. Changes in TFT are very slow, on FWY around one degree per minute with temps going up. :) Paul
  20. I wonder if 2015 has a louder signal sound, I don't even hear mine(2013) very much at all. I will ask my wife what she thinks. ;) Well I asked my wife and she doesn't think it is loud, but maybe they make them loud for old people who can't hear. I'm sure she was referring to me.LOL :lol2: Paul
  21. We don't need cranking power, but intelligent low voltage detection would be great. Would solve dead battery problem. :) Paul
  22. Good Job SnowStorm! :happy feet: Paul
