Glad to hear about the Hybrid battery lasting a lot longer and the mileage Paul and Snowstorm got so far on their Cmax.., Forita our 2013 C Max took a dent in the tailgate the other day , but it still closes and locks ok. Was told not worth fixing tailgate because value of car is roughly $4500 because we have 124.000 miles on her. We were thinking about trading her in with a heavy heart, because we were also concern about the Hybrid battery since Forita is now seven years old. But after reading your good reports, we decided to hold on to Forita. Thanks...

Thanks for the response, I have CMax SE. I would say # 5 Fan is still running and little to no air coming out. Will change temp sensor , now that I know it has one. Thanks for the info.

To any fellow CMax owners...I am trying to fiqure out what is causing this...Lately the AC quits blowing , the air is still cold so do not think it has to do with freon. Anyhow to correct the situation, I have to turn off AC for awhile, then put it back on and it works fine till next time. I brought it to my dealer but the problem is it does not do it then , so there is no way to really diagnose unless it acts up. But I been thinking maybe it has something to do with a temp sensor , but not sure if it has one. Really got me baffled , any help appreciated.

I have 2013 CMax that is now 4 years old with 65000 miles with the org tires. I have brought my car in and had my tires rotated every 5000 miles , kept my tire pressure at 40 psi and those tires still have half of tread life left , this was told to me by my service dept manager when asking about buying new tires. My mileage today for my car is now 48 mpg, I think you overflating your tires to get better mileage is dangerous to you and your family.

Paul, Wow impressed 144,000 miles and still running strong for a 2013 model. You could be also right on the price of gas , but it did not help when Ford changed the mileage statement after we brought in 2013, but the rebates did help ease the hurt. The tires that came with the car are great 62 ,000 miles and still have tread, but do get them rotated every 5000 miles when I get oil change, know manual say 10,000 but oil is cheaper than an engine, my dad always use to say..

Been having Forita for 4 years now, she has 62,000 miles and still runs like the day I brought her. The only problem she ever had was the radio went out and I had a new one installed . Other than the recalls no other problems, still running on the orginal tires and brakes. But sad to say, her value is down because of all the bad press CMax has gotten. But still not looking to get rid of her.

If you can afford to buy extended warranty, buy it. My radio went out in car the other day, that also work the sync system, If not for the extended warranty I would be paying major dollars for this repair. This car is more computer than any other car I have ever owned. This one situation that happened has already paid my money back in buying the extended warranty.p

Lemon Law & Buy Back Info and Experience
AS2014 replied to salman's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
This is one thread that needs to die, It has gotten really old about buy backs. The problem I see you did not like the car in the first place, because if you did you would have gotten another C Max. I own a 2013 CMax SE now with 32000 miles and have not had a battery problem, but I do not leave stuff plug into my car like an office and always turn my radio, air off before leaving car just Iike I done with all my previous automobiles One other thing my car is left in the garage for weeks at a time and starts every time . So yes I am saying it, it Is a damn good car and I for one rather see threads about members enjoying their C Max. In closing yes there are lemons not only on cars , but everything, just because you got a Monday car does not mean all of the CMax are bad, from what I read in this past year a lot of you had more problems with dealers not knowing what to do. Have a good day.... -
Adrian_L No just the Key , but do have a security alarm in the car. On the key only four buttons: lock, unlock, hatchback, panic. Will remember about pushing the lock button down twice in the future to look for car, def do not want to give anyone heart attack. We have enough things going on in New Orleans, Lol.
-
Hi all, was reading the forumn about panic alarm on key, I have it on my key and it does come in handy when looking for car. Mine is a SE with the Nav package and Winter package.

Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)
AS2014 replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Thanks, Jus-A-CMax , you def shine a light on this, I think I will change the way I buy cars instead of trading every 5 years, think going to hold on to this one and drive it to the end. You are right it is a great riding car with power under the hood when needed. Have always been happy with the mileage I have gotten and I own it outright. Going to be a shock to the wife who always got a new car every 5 years, but hey things change...Lol. -

As much as I love this car, I would not buy another because the value has went really down , my 2013 C Max is now worth 16,000 because of all the negative reports. The car is only 2 years old with 24,000 and has been a great car , but I usually like to trade my cars in 5 years and this one will take a big hit. That's over 12,000 lost in 2 years. The car is an SE loaded with everything the SEL has except for leather seats, which I did not want. By the way the SEL with same mileage is only worth 1500.00 more. It's a shame that this car got trashed by JD and Consumer Reports and owners because of a few problems, but nothing said about GM vechiles killing people or VW major problems. This was the first American car to take on Toyota .One other thing the most that had problems with car battery was the one that had the radio with all the buttons instead of the one with the NAV and My Sync. I also cancel my Consumer Report subscription, I find they were not fair at all about the CMax. To the ones that got their buy back because of Lemon Laws, glad you got your money back, but for the rest of us we now own a car worth a lot less. Thanks. -
No thanks, I will stick with my Dealer because of the excellent service dept, they have, especially when it comes to fixing a car right the first time. That to me is worth a lot more than the goodwill payment notice that got overlooked by them.
-
Sounds great, made my day. Will def be calling my dealer guy today.........Thanks
-
Adrian, This is one time I hope my dealer is wrong........lol

I also heard about a second check coming to CMax owners, but from what I found out that is a rumor . I spoke to my dealer and he said Ford is not sending out any more checks. The first check that was sent last year is it. Hate to bring bad news , but that's the way it is. Was kind of looking forward to getting another check too because of how hard the value has drop on these cars.

Name one like and dislike with your C-Max?
AS2014 replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Like: Everything about car Dislike: No spare tire, I will put the Bridgestone flat guard tires when tires need to be replaced, suppose to be able to go 50 miles on tire even when flat. -
Hello FordFan, I have SE with the heated cloth seats, been having the car over a year with 23,000 miles and they work great for my wife in the winter time, well in New Orleans. Personally do not use them, too hot blooded here for that. I wanted the cloth seats, just do not like leather, had that in other cars. The only problem I had with the car was the other day the hatch was not closing correctly, brought into my dealer, was given rental car to use in mean time, car would have been ready that day if not for ordering part. The problem I see on here in this forumn is the ones that have trouble with their cars seems to be coming from their dealer not fixing it right the first time. I have been to my dealer for all the updates and recalls for my car and they have a great service dept. that knows what to do the first time. Everyone that has rode in this car cannot get over how comfortable this car is and I mean one that has a CTS Cadillac told me this. Well good luck on your Buy, but most important find a good dealer and you will not regret buying your car.

Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)
AS2014 replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
It's been awhile since posted, now have 23,000 miles on it. Had problem the other day with hatch door not closing correctly. Brought in to my dealer and in 2 days car was ready and cleaned, the reason it took 2 days, they had to order the part, if not for that it would have been ready the same day, but in the mean time I had a rental to use.I would like to give a shout out To Banner Ford for excellent service. I said it once and say again a lot of problems on here could be solved by finding a great Dealer that knows what they are doing. -
Hi all, As I said before ,I been having my car for over a year it is a SE , with 18,000 miles and I have to say no problems at all. You will bring in this car to get service more often than others because of its technology , as for the above who looking for a lemon law, the car has 36, 000 miles on it, that's a lot of wear and tear on a car that's only a yr old. I do not see that happening , understand they did have problems, but from what I read it was not the same problem each time. Sounds like to me they got a bum dealership working on their car, if that was me I would have called Ford right at the beginning or went to a differrent Ford dealership.I do not get 47, to be honest but what I get I am very happy 44 in city and 42 on interstate. My truck was 18 on interstate and 12 in city. Again I wish the above poster all the best.. Brought my car in Feb 13 and del date was Jan 13. But for you to say to the forum not to buy a CMax is not right, yes you have your opinion, but as a CMax owner I do too. Thanks.....

Zero battery failures and have 18,000 miles on my C Max SE with Nav and Winter Package.
-
I agree, been having my CMax over a year and have 18,000 miles on it and do not have any battery troubles even when leaving park in garage at weeks at a time. I read on another Forum that the cause was because of (Certain radios that were installed was continuing to stay on and vampire the battery), paraphrase here but do not recall the place I got it , but def could be an issue. Also I do not leave anything plug in my car when it's not running and always turn my radio off manually when leaving car. Hope this helps

I just cannot believe this car, another 47 mpg today while in the city of New Orleans. Forita is a gift from above. The best part I am driving it just like my other car, not like my friend who has a Toyota and told me you have to drive slow to get the 40's mpg. I think he is ready to come over to the Ford side now. Lol
-
Wow that is really good, I Forita hit the 47 mpg mark the other day coming from New Orleans crossing the causeway, man I was impressed , but to be honest I was happy when she was getting 40 mpg, never had an auto get that. The last update does work it took a few trips to build the mpg back up after they reset everything.
