  1. MM, welcome to the forum. I would really love to hear more about your suspension install. I would like to find a set of coilovers that would fit our cars, I've never been happy with the factory setup. I had Ohlins on my previous car, and they spoiled me rotten. Please continue to share, there will be those that don't get it, but there are some of us who understand your passion.
  2. Mike, if you're still looking at the thread, could you update us with the pics of the fully installed wheels? Did you compare weight against the factory wheel/tire combo?
  3. Paul, it's a stab in the dark, but do you think it might be helpful to change out the transaxle fluid? Perhaps its properties are caput, and a jolt of fresh fluid might be enough to nurse it home?
  4. Does the Audi engine utilize an EGR circuit? Have these engines (more so in the VW's I suppose) had any issues with carbon buidlup over time?
  5. To jdbob and Marc, how did you guys figure these things out? I have an Energi with MyFordTouch and the Sony system, and would dearly like to upgrade (processor/amp and maybe speakers). I don't relish the thought of doing it, but I'm assuming that tapping in aft of the DACM would give me direct access to the speakers via the factory harness, and retain all factory functionality. Not trying to hijack the thread, but it's rare to see someone with knowledge of our systems, so wanted to ask for your thoughts.
  6. Paul, an update that I finally installed the rear deflectors. I decided to not modify my current rocker panels, and instead ordered new rocker trim that has the precut holes for the deflectors. The part numbers for the new rocker panel trim are: Part Number: AM5Z5810176B rocker molding rear Right Part Number: AM5Z5810177B rocker molding rear Left The new panels have all the mounting holes precut for the deflectors, making the install straightforward. Thank you for the DORMAN plastic rivet part number, that made the install much more straightforward! Now if I can only figure out the correct part number for the upgraded hood gasket, and whether or not there is any way to add the deflectors to the sides of our rear hatch glass! :)
  7. Paul, it looks like the car definitely has an outboard transmission cooler: http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/PartDetail.aspx?n=5S2CCWpX5CjkprRtVz8Exw%3d%3d&id=307427884&m=2&search=true&year=2013&make=Ford&model=C-Max Could the airflow to it be blocked by one of your panels?
  8. Check the weather forecasts for the Carolinas on Thursday.
  9. Paul, could any of the ridges you had to file down have been there for heat removal? It sounds far fetched, but thought I'd at least offer the idea.
  10. Try "sometime in 2017": http://www.autonews.com/article/20150112/OEM05/150119941/chevy-bolt-ev-production-expected-in-2017
  11. Hi, I don't have a dash cam, but saw the linked article and remembered your thread. Hopefully there will be something here that will be helpful: http://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/treatyourself/5-of-the-best-dash-cams/ss-BBh0nw2
  12. And yet your post #2 is comparing Ford to Tesla. So I will repeat: When Tesla start selling several million cars a year across the entire price spectrum versus a few thousand at ~$100,000+ per car, then perhaps a comparison can be made. Until then, not so much
  13. Nice work Paul. I took a quick cursory glance under my car, and at first glance it appears (unlike the front deflectors) that I don't have the predrilled slots either. Not really excited about having to do all the work, so will hopefully look more closely this weekend at the sill covers and see if I luck out and have the predrilled holes/slots.
  14. Update: got an email from the dealer that they shipped both parts on Friday, so I should see them mid-late next week. Paul, it might be time to check with you dealer and see if the back ordered side has arrived.

  16. Ice is ice. Nothing short of chains helps, especially in North Georgia, with hilly terrain, and long shadows cast by the trees. Hint: always look out for pine trees alongside the road, chances are higher that their shadow will allow the ice/snow to remain longer than other parts of the road that receive the sun. If you have to drive, try to maintain momentum and avoid starts and stops. When a stop is inevitable, allow 3-4 times the distance and time to safely stop. As you wrote, the best thing to do is stay off the roads until they are clear - no matter how safely you drive, you're still going to get hit by someone who isn't driving safely.
  17. You might have better luck going onto a Fusion board to ask questions about the Fusion wheels. In addition to the bolt pattern, you need to find out what the offset is on the Fusion versus the C-Max wheel. If you dig around this board, I *think* there is a C-Max wheel thread that discussed the offset of the C-Max wheel. That would be critical to know. One other thought - check and see if the Fusion hybrid runs the same wheel as the C-Max (it might). If so, that might be a good starting point for comparing offsets too.
  18. FYI, got an email from the dealer saying that part DM5Z5811398A is backordered until 12/1. That probably corresponds to the side you didn't receive.

  20. I can find it on the website (it's shown in the rocker panel illustration), but that number doesn't allow me to find it in part number search, so I'm kind of assuming there must be a bigger parts number. Thanks again for all your detective work.
  21. Paul, would you please post a photo of the part bag, so we can see the full part number? Congrats on the hard work, hopefully the other side shows up soon.
  22. ' Great news! If they are the correct parts, I'll be right behind you in ordering a set! :)
