Konig-Wolf, congrats on the new Cmax. Sterling Grey was my color of choice as well. Enjoy getting to know the car. There's a lot to it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Aside from my C-Max (which I've had very good luck with: no major repair/battery problems), I've got to say that my favorite car was my Subaru Legacy (circa 1989). That was my first NEW "luxury" car, and it ran like a dream. The C-Max isn't for everyone. but I've enjoyed being one of the first "pioneer" owners.

Congratulations on your new acquisition, Kelleytoons. Glad you're enjoying the car, as most of us on this forum do. Feel free to ask whatever questions you have. there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum, all of whom have been where you are!

My partner was thinking of buying a new Escape. We had also seen an ad for a 3 year lease on a 2014 Energi: $195/mo. What a deal! We went to test drive the Escape. He liked it, but wasn't thrilled. We test drove the Energi (even though he had driven my C-Max several times), and with an OTD price of $230ish/month, we went with the Energi - Ice Storm. When we were signing the papers, the salesman mentioned that the price in the ad was actually a mistake: they were losing a couple thousand on the deal, which I believe! But they would honor the ad price. Rarely do we get that lucky -- it's nice that it happened with this car! His payment is lower than I pay for my 2013 C-Max. So far, so good. Everything works as it should. So now there are two C-Maxi in the driveway (well, one in the garage). One problem, my C-Max is now the "old" car, and so got kicked out of the garage. So be it! They look great together. Now I'll have to start another membership on the Energi Forum.

New to the forum, just bought a 2014 ford cmax,

Mildred, congratulations on your new C-Max. As others have said, don't worry so much about all the technology in the car, but just enjoy it as you learn about all the bells and whistles. Many you will use, and others not. And know that there are a lot of people on this forum who are glad to answer any questions you may have. This forum has more friendly, knowledgeable and patient people than any other, I believe. -
Jus, I'm glad you and Maxine have been reunited, and that the relationship has picked up where it left off. Good luck as you move forward. I hope you are feeling as fantastic as Maxine looks!

But I bet they aren't in a drought like we are.

Goodbye CMAX community! Thanks for everything!

Jmonty, good luck with the new car. Hopefully you will all feel safer in the snow. Thanks for being a member of the forum. -
I've found that my "actual" (Fuelly.com) mileage is consistently lower than the computer display, usually by a mile or 2.

Ditto! I was away from the forum for a bit, and when I logged in here I find you and Maxine under doctor's care. Bummer to the Max! Hope you both are recuperating well. You've been in my prayers as well.

Ours has been moving DOWN toward 3.50ish. Nice.

Laurel, glad you finally got your check. As a founding member of the forum, I think you should have been one of the first to get it! Enjoy your new insurance policy! :)

Congratulations on your new addition. Best of both worlds!

Jason, congratulations on your new purchase. Enjoy learning all the little idiosyncrasies of your new car. There's a lot of great info on this forum that can help you do that.

I'm just rolling up to 10,000, and aside from the sync and computer updates the only visit to the dealer was for a broken windshield wiper blade (oh, and a tire rotation/oil change). I don't think most people expressing their displeasure at problems experienced are trying to bash the car, but just expressing frustration with their continued issues. I doubt if there is ANY model car that has 100% satisfaction. I feel lucky :headspin: that I've been problem free, and have had good experiences with dealer and the car. Mileage is slowly going up, still love to drive the little beastie. Expressing the good and the bad is, I think, a valuable service of this forum.

I'm sorry to hear that Laurel (our first Canadian Cmaxer on the site, I believe) has taken a hiatus. I haven't been able to be on the site as much as before, so I missed whatever incident occurred. This site, from its inception, has been a friendly, open and very helpful Cmax oasis. For the most part, members have tried to help point the way to new owners, even if their questions have been asked 100 times. (nothing new under the sun, etc). I think most of us love sharing our positive experiences of our cars, as well as commiserating over the negative. I'd like to welcome anyone who doesn't feel that way to leave. There are enough forums out there where flaming is welcomed. As one of the original members, I don't want this to become one of them, and I think most of you feel the same way.

Welcome,Sande022! Regarding warming up the car on cold mornings, I suggest leaving the heater off as you start driving, and use the heated seats instead (if you have them). They warm you up nicely, until the EV starts kicking in, saving you a lot of mpgs. Enjoy getting familiar with your new toy! If you find yourself becoming a little obsessive about it, welcome to the club (forum).

I saw one on a TV commercial for Nationwide!
roninsd replied to C-Maxgo's topic in Sightings - C-MAX Hybrid's Spotted!
Hadn't caught that yet, when watching that commercial. Thanks for pointing it out. -
That's horrible, Rachel. But on a positive note: when you DO get your car back, it will be like driving it the first time!! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, blah, blah blah! Hope the car gets back to you soon.

I feel so lucky to have a great service team. Got a free rental, plus good service. It should be the same for ALL Ford dealers! -
Glad you found us. A lot of people to commiserate with you, and many to provide hope for a better tomorrow! ;) When did you get your C-Max?

Is this the beginning of the C-Max Emergency Rescue Service? Nice job, and worth the visit to the doghouse!
