Only 1000 sold in Canada in the last 14 months
roninsd replied to Laurel's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
My (uninformed) opinion/guess about the lack of advertising is that Ford didn't want to hype the car until it had some experience in the real world, which is why they invited owners to the Irvine pow-wow. I believe they wanted to get input to upgrade and improve the C-Max before they made an all out advertising blitz for the 2014 model. Just a guess -- we'll see if this is right in a couple months. -
Got my check today: $325 for leasing. I didn't have to sign anything. Came FedEx. I personally don't think Ford OWED me anything, but I appreciate the gesture. People on this forum consistently get 47 or better combined. On some trips, I get 41, on others, 62, on others, 36, etc.. It depends on the ups and downs of the road, the traffic, and how much of a hurry I'm in. This check, plus a $10 rebate I also got today for service, almost get me up to one car payment!

Not a big deal for me, but I agree with Jus: prefer ads and like section on the right.

I'll try and give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.

Maybe instead of going to Michigan, we could all meet at Rachel's house -- but only after she has Rainette back!

For people with Max problems, this is a great place to vent, search for solutions. But if you look through the different threads, you'll read from a lot of people without any major issues. It's great that this "place" is available for people to get support, as well as to just share great experiences.

I just noticed that after my last (and first) oil change at 7000ish, they put a reminder tab on my windshield, which indicated that I should get my next oil change at 17,000ish, so the 10k seems to be what is needed.

Pre upgrade, when running ICE on the freeway, my immediate mgp gauge would hover at or above 40. Now I'm lucky if it goes above 25. On the other hand, I'm able to run on EV as well, so I guess they average out! However, I have found my overall mileage slowly decreasing.
-
You don't need the navigation system for EV+. You just need to turn it on in the settings. Once set, the car will recognize frequently visited locations (home, office, etc). Takes a week or two before you see it come on.

You can send, but only preset messages. I have found that if I hold down the button on my Iphone 4S, Siri will come up and talk to me through the car speakers, and I can text handfree through her intervention.

Countdown to cutie75 and salsaguy's Cmax...
roninsd replied to salsaguy's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
Salsaguy, I'm betting on a 2015 and after another 1200 posts :) -
I just thought an occasional trip to the store would help relieve the sense of loss. : :flirt:

On my way home from work, getting onto the 8 in Mission Valley, and I see two... count them, two ... Cmaxi waiting at the light: one behind me, and one ahead. With me, that made three: Sterling Gray, Ingot Silver and Oxford White together in the wild. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get close enough to either to give a thumbs up or snap a pic. I guess this means we're getting a little more mainstream!

Bummer, Rachel. Sorry to hear about Rainette. Will your dad let you drive his car, to help you get over the separation anxiety? Hope it doesn't take too long.

My service rep suggested tire rotation at 7500, along with the oil change.

Free loaner vehicle from Ford during their mandated fixes
roninsd replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Every time I've brought my car in for some repairs (not just service), I've gotten a rental from the Enterprise they have on the property. This has been true even if repairs were expected to be finished by the end of the day. No hassle: "It'll take a few hours, so I'll give you a voucher for a rental". I've been impressed with Drew Ford Service! -
No nav, but also no problems with my sync/MFT (except the clock resetting issue) pre upgrade. It understands my voice, I don't have to shout, and as long as I say the correct commands, it does what I want. I'm impressed with how well the speaker works when on a phone call. I have friends who, from their car, are unintelligible; people I call are surprised that my voice is so clear. I do wish I had a Siri button, like other cars are offering.

Slampro, just gave you another 1/5 of a bonus entry! :)

Took MY driving test(s) (ok, took me three time to pass) on the family '61 Oldsmobile. Moved up, when I was 18, to a Red Datsun 510 "station wagon". In college (seminary) drove an old VW van that we had to push/pop the clutch to start. Since then many different, uneventful vehicles until I got my Subaru Legacy, my first REAL NEW car. Loved it!

Congratulations, Uturn. And you picked the most "elegant" color! Enjoy getting to know your C-max.
-
Laurel, You finally have a C-Max neighbor! Congrats. I just got my letter last week for the Sync upgrade. Haven't had time to go in yet. I just got an email from my the saleswoman who sold me my car, just to check in (I think a "robo-email" but it WAS personalized. :) "My" service manager was very friendly when I was introduced to him when I picked up my car, and the one time I had to take it in for some service. I guess what I'm saying is that each dealership will be different. But I would THINK that Ford would like to be kept aware of problems dealing with its people. rrbote: since you have the car in your possession, I'm assuming you accepted their offer. I don't know if I would have, but it sounds as though everything is working as it should (except for the awaited gear shift). Hope that continues for you!

Yeah!!! Enjoy it when you get it!

Hey, Lil_One, sorry to hear you had to experience the dreaded battery issue. Hopefully, you'll only have to endure it once! I've been in the (large) lucky group of people who haven't had this problem, and feel for those who have. Welcome to the forum!

According to my service manager, you could keep the hill assist ON all the time, and it would only engage when going down hills. Should have any negative effect.
