I thought the Prius V plugin had more storage capacity? I do think i remember that the battery size was also smaller though too.

Looks good. Still thinking of doing this with my black C-Max. I think it would look good. -
Nice job

Those look very nice. They look more like carpet which I like. How well to they clean up? Maybe they hide the dirt/salt better?

Just curious how much snow you tried to go through? Good luck.

Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on
scottwood2 replied to Alex Sams's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
I agree, I don't like that the sound but more importantly I am concerned of the damage while this is happening. I have had this every once in a while and I just change the throttle position and it goes away. For me I have not seen a pattern with temperature. Pretty sure I have heard this in the warmer months too. I don't hear it much now in the colder months but then again I bought the car in the fall and it is more broke in now as well. That could be part of the issue too. Time will tell. -
I see this all the time. I have not seen a pattern yet. Sometimes it starts and sometimes I can drive and drain the battery. It is more than the SOC and the climate control. Something triggers it.

I have noticed this too to some degree. The cabin temperature seems more balanced where as most other cars could blast high temp air on the floor when wanted. It does not seem to be a bad thing to me but I too sometimes like the blast of hot air on the feet.

Just started dong Fuelly and my second fill up came back with 34 MPG. Mostly freeway driving and a high of like 6 degrees today. I think it might be off somewhat because I only put in less then 5 gallons. Car stated more like 43 avg on this tank

Have you seen the new 2015 Ford Mustang 'Speed Dating' commercial?

Cool idea. Pretty funny -
Good advice. Now if my dealer said they could not find anything but applied lubricant then I would be OK with that. It just seems that if it does not happen for them then they just say they could not duplicate the problem. Standard answer. Nothing against Ford, just seems to be standard practice in many dealerships. They get paid to fix something. They probably don't get paid if they can't witness the problem.

Nice website. Cool feature, although they are not the first. "A smarter car.The Bolt Connect app would provide drivers with an unprecedented level of vehicle control. Incorporating automatic park-and-retrieval technology†, owners will be able to exit the vehicle and tell Bolt EV to park itself while they run errands, then summon it to their location when they’re done." I can hear it now: "I am sorry your honor, I had no idea my car was going to park in a no parking zone. It did not send me an email" :drop: Hey, it is Friday and I am trying not to think about the HIGH temperature of 4 deg F. on Sunday for us here in Detroit.

Well years ago we developed "Fast Food". Just drive you car in and get food fast. That sometimes seems like it can take 45 min so maybe the next big thing will be "Fast Charge (and food)" . Eat in 45 min with a 80% charged battery ready to go. ;)

Something to play with but what some are saying is this technique is better than what Ford's engineers came up with for EV+. Interesting. I have noticed that I do get better FE in the morning if I start out with a higher SoC but i drive 10 miles to work. I always looked at this as a trade off as the FE the last trip was less because it charged up the battery before it was parked. I would think a long 40+ mile trip would see little impact from the SoC at start up. Weird.

This is on the standard Hybrid or the NRG?
-
This make sense. When my other half is in the car, the temp setting can be much lower than mine and it feels like there is a window open in the car sometimes even though my setting has not changed.
-
Everything I looked at had dual zone controls standard. I have not played around with shutting down one zone or shutting off vents. It might help but the biggest thing that seems to help me is to just not use the climate control at all. I love the seat heaters. After driving about 4 - 6 miles the engine temperature is up to where the ICE will not come on just because of the call for heat. Then I turn on the heat and leave it on. I still have to turn in on a little during this starting run just to defog the windows. I clear them off a little and shut it back down. Hope that helps

Is the thermostat different on the SEL?

I had a period of time that my hatch would not open fully. Maybe different issue, not sure. My issue was that the hatch would click like it was opening and you could see it move but it was still latched. A few seconds later the latch would click again (without me doing anything but waiting) and it would then open. This lasted like this for a few weeks and then it worked fine. I had it in the dealer for something else and asked them to look at in and they said everything was fine. I don't think they did anything but open the hatch but it has been about 3 months now and it seems OK so far.

Fuel injector failure every 37,000 miles
scottwood2 replied to Recumpence's topic in General Discussion
My previous car, a Scion xB, had a really great rating for dependability. It was a great car and I liked it a lot but during that time I had to replace spark plug coils kind of like you are talking about for the fuel injectors. One at a time and I think I replaced 3 over 135K miles. It also had a clutch go out at 20K miles (replacement was still in the car when I sold it so 115k mile on that one). Plus power window issues a few times and the trim piece on the tailgate pulled right off when opening the hatch. Problems happen to any of them.
