Insurance on mine was about $200 more a year than the 2005 Scion xB it replaced. I figured a $100 jump every 6 months for a $7000 more expensive car was about about right. I have a 2008 Chevy pickup too and it is close to the same price as the C-max.

Hi All I have my tires set at 45 PSI. Door sticker says recommended 40 PSI. I would think that this recommendation is for ride comfort as well as road contact (traction for acceleration and braking) as well as proper wear over time. I am thinking of increasing them to 50 PSI but I am concerned about all of the above. Has anyone running higher pressures worn out a set of tires yet? What are people seeing with regard to wear? Thx

I am picking up my new 2015 C-Max today. Any advise
scottwood2 replied to James Libasci's topic in 2015 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
Talk about a quiet launch. I really have not heard anything about the 2015 here in North America. Only the Europe version. Congrats on your new 2015. I am sure you will like it. -
Weathertech digitalfit floor liners - amazon warehousedeals
scottwood2 replied to obob's topic in C-MAX Parts for Sale
Set came in but the wrong ones. Order was the correct ones but they shipped something that was much larger. Sent them back but they do not have a replacement. The new Weathertech's were too expensive for just the front so I ended up ordering the Husky full set that include the rear mats as well. Should have them this week. -
Camping with CMax & finish the tank at 778 miles

Nice post. Enjoyed it. -
Thx for sharing that data. I have not seen that chart before.

I looked into this too. I did not want the stock look but ended up using Plasti-dip on the stock wheels. Very happy with how it turned out. There are pics of this in my galley if you are interested. Others have done this too. I would like to see the video with the wheels you are talking about. Do you know the link? Good luck. Let us know what you end up doing.

We had the same issue last night. Came on and stayed on until vehicle was restarted. We are at about 3000 miles too. We did just get fuel on Friday night. Will see if it comes back on today. Tried the funnel trick this morning and the light did not come back on today. We have had the check engine light come on with our Chevy pickup if the fuel cap is not sealed before. Maybe this is the same thing? For the C-Max I am not sure what issues comes on with the check engine light and what the yellow wrench means?

Thx for the reply and complements :noobie: . I am still learning what to do to get better FE. I get some ideas from the post here, great tips but nothing beats seeing this happen in person or a video with narrative explaining what they are doing and why. I know it is hard to do this but it would be nice. I have seen some videos talking about this but not owners who have mastered the FE game.

Love to see a video of someone getting this kind of mileage. I get mainly mid 40's but sometimes can get into the 50's with a mix of hwy and city. I am sure there are some tricks that I could pick up on. Thx

GM next-gen infotainment system to run Android
scottwood2 replied to kostby's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
There are a number of companies that are on board with this. Great idea to let the phone do the job. It is very powerful already and we can upgrade to a new phone when we want. looking forward to this coming onto the market. Give me a built in place to put the phone with wireless charging and I am good to go. :) -
It is just getting started to get cold here in Michigan. Some nights in the 20's and 30's. I have played somewhat with the heater settings to get the best FE some days and other days I don't touch them and just let the system do its thing. I hear the ICE come on when not needed but I just let it do its thing. Some days I think my FE will be bad because of the ICE running and other times I keep the heat off and think my FE will be good. So far I have very inconsistent data. Had many times that the FE was much better than expected and other times much lower than expected. Thinking now that just because the ICE is running does not mean bad FE. Sure it has an impact but I think it might be lower than I thought. My only trick I like so far is keep to heater shut off until the engine warms up and I drain the HV battery for the first cycle. Then when I need to charge the battery I turn on my heat at the same time. Kind of getting two for one. I have not did any other changes. The grill covers sound good but I am concerned about warranty issues and can't help to wonder why Ford would not have found a way to block these off if it helped FE and had no other side effects?

I recently had a Mustang convertible on vacation in CA. I could not wait to get back in the C-Max too. I still find myself ducking my head when i get in the C-Max because it was very hard to get in the Mustang. It was a nice car but I would rather have a C-Max. I did not like the 24 MPG either (Hwy)

Welcome and congrats on your very nicely equiped C-Max.

Dead car after removing and replacing HV fuse
scottwood2 replied to Derik's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
I don't have the answer but here are a few ideas that you might have already thought of Does the manual have info on this? Another thought is to call the dealer and ask. I take it that the original fuse blew? Do we know that the replacement it still good? Hope this helps -
Changed the time on the clock for the MFT. This is the easiest change I have ever seen. Touch the clock and hit a button to change the hour. Nice and simple. :love_shower:

Nice write up. Enjoyed the story. Not surprised that the C-Max does well in snow. They say the torque of an electric motor is great for snow. I should be able to try it very soon for the first time in the C-Max. They are calling for snow today here in Detroit but only on the grass. Roads are still too warm they say.

Interesting that I just read an article stating that Kia was developing a hybrid that is more car like and less like a Prius. They say that there is a market for a hybrid vehicle that is designed a little more around style and less about being a hybrid. Can you say "C-Max"? That is what the appeal was for me. Ford is changing marketing strategy to something like this too. I hope it works for them. I still don't know why they don't advertise the 8 year warranty on the hybrid components too. I know many people that say they are worried about battery life and this is covered with this warranty. I did not even know about this warranty until I purchased the car.

Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on
scottwood2 replied to Alex Sams's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
This is the sound I get too. Done this since it was new. I you get the ICE RPM right then it will vibrate. A little more push on the gas pedal or a little less and it goes away. Seems like a major vibration issue in the drivetrain to me. I don't think the fuel pump would do this but I could be wrong. -
Not all of us have this concern. I guess one more plus for the SE version. :>) But I would not be too concerned if I had the keyless system.
-
I was wondering about this too. This would be a great ECO Heat option. Give me a setting that just blows heat into the car and not start the ICE to do so. This way when the car needs ICE you would get more heat and less when the heater core cools down. To me this would make a great "Auto" setting as well. ICE on and when heater core temperature output is greater than cabin temperature and the heat setting is higher than cabin temp then turn up the fan. ICE shuts down and as the core temp goes below setting then turn down the fan. I would love to see this option. I would guess that it might be too confusing for some but I would like to see this option. They do it for cruise so why not for heat.

Great, now I am hungry and thirsty and I still have a half of day of work to go. :yahoo: Looks good.

I second that. Bought the SE with 202A package. Love the MFT and it does not seem like a standard trim level car. I think the jump to MFT makes the interior seem just about like the SEL anyway. Happy with cloth seats, did not want leather. Did get the winter package with heated seats which I like a lot. Other add ons were not worth the price to me. BTW: no battery issues here. Just left the Max at the airport for 6 days, no problem at all. Car is about 2 months old now.

I don't have an answer to your direct question about getting a double din unit to replace the MFT. I did google it and it did come up as a topic for other Ford cars. Let us know what you come up with. I also seen another post on here about Apple changing something on the latest release that may have issues with connectivity for MFT. Not sure if this was your problem or not. I have been able to connect with the phone and Bluetooth stereo with my Android phone. I know there are many iphone users here too so I am not sure what is different on your phone. Good luck Link
