  1. Hello everyone, I have some info to share and I just didn't know which forum fit best to post it. So please excuse me for deciding this was the best place. I wanted to share some insight regarding the automatic liftgate option. I found the hard way that the tailgate will close regardless of where your head might be. I was helping my wife load groceries and went up to the drivers seat for something. As I retrurned to finish the loading process the wife had finished and used the auto closure feature and I walked right into the lower left corner of the tailgate. After saying a few colorful metaphors I could feel blood dripping down my face. I was rushed to the ER and after explaning the circumstances behind my injury and jokingly telling the ER doctor my wife hit me. I got 5 stiches above my right eye and have a 1/2" scar to go with it. Beware of the tailgate
  2. Not any problems that I've heard from other EV owners who have bought them
  3. I don't know why Ford couldn't do something like Tesla and put the batteries in the floor. Probably because the batteries Ford uses are bigger than the one's Tesla uses. My guess anyway.

Very nice really like that red metallic paint but my C-Max SEL is Platinum White
  5. I'm glad to say this is my first 4 wheel disc brake vehicle I've owned. I connected with a company that makes disk brake caliper covers. They are called MGP Caliper Covers (www.calipercovers.com) and they make a very nice cover which looks allot better than those cast calipers. Availble for the C-Max in bright red, black or silver powder coating with the Ford logo engraved. They are pricy at $230.00 but very good quality and easy installation over the stock caliper. I inquired to see if they would make me a set with the factory script C-Max logo engraved using the Factory red "C" & chrome "-Max". They told me sure with an additional $100 tacked on. I'm going to order mine soon and will take some pictures and post them to the forum. Maybe if we got enough interest we could arrange a group purchase and possibly bring the price down? We did this many times with another car club I belonged to back when I owned my GMC Typhoon and Syclone back in my gas guzzler hot rod days. The part number for the C-Max is the same as the 2012 Ford Focus #10216-S-Frd for the regular covers. The custom covers with C-Max logo is #102126-S-Cus when ordering be sure to attach a picture of the factory logo in a .svg format for artwork creation on their computers. However after they make mine it will be in their database for anyone else ordering.
  6. None yet in the South Bay Area of California, at least that seen yet.
  7. Hey fellow San Jose owner, pretty impressive MPG. Do you know of any other CMAX in the south bay? I've seen 3 others since buying mine in late September from Frontier Ford. Just love to drive this car. Guess that is why I now show over 4k on the odometer. Had 7 when I drove it off the lot. We'll see what it reads after I get back from Sacramento this weekend. My first road trip woohoo! Take care. Mike

I'm a newbie to the forum, just signed up. I'm located in the south bay area of California. Bought my 2013 Platinum White C-Max SEL on September 20th from Frontier Ford in San Jose. Had 7 miles on the odometer and now it has just over 4,000. I have been able to muster 44.9mpg from it so far. But hope that will change this weekend when I head out on my first road trip to Sacramento. I've tried everything I can think of to get more MPG but 44.9 is my best so far. I've tried pulling out from a red light with little to none acceleration and once I get up to 25mph I kick in the cruise control to bring me up to my pre-set speed. I took a ride up to San Franciso on one of the local freeways and by setting my cruise control to 55mph (In the slow lane) and maintaining this for most of the 80+ miles round trip back home, I registered my best so far @ 44.9mpg. Just love this car and considering buying an Engergi as my second car once they start showing up here in my area. Look forward to connecting with other owners across the country and locally. I hope I can find an owners club to get together with, especially when we get back to summer.
