  1. CMaxSeattle - good stuff man, showing great sign on drawing out the MPG especially so early on with the new car. Very encouraging, looking forward to seeing you and others in the 600 mile club soon
  2. I have a different opinion - battery storage capacity is the key and I would have loved to have more battery storage as I roll and maximize the use of hills & downslopes. I am also finding that the charge level does effect the higher end cruise and MPGs. Now, even on the flats like in Florida, a higher battery capacity is not necessarily bad news because using P&G you can still build a bigger charge and not all roads are flat, you will get some slight incline to use to your advantage. I had so many instances in my drives where I was wasting the chargeability since the battery was full and no longer charging, that was a shame.
  3. http://www.mpgomatic.com/2013/01/19/are-all-hybrids-slow-from-0-60-mph/ CMax is only beaten by a Lexus 450H with 6 seconds for 0-60mph. Not too shabby at all... I for one, prefer to have the power and feather that power for efficiency rather than no-power and have mileage galore ala Prius. Feel free to add you comments o-fellow-CMaxers.
  4. So as much as I rave about the solid build of my Max, she has some silliness in her - not her fault, just her designer. There is a small trapezium shape panel and Ford placed it near the accelerator pedal. Every so often, it always manages to come off, snap it back on, and next time it comes off again. Repeat that at least twice a week. This is the panel: Anyone else? Also, what is that panel for?
  5. You are kidding! What the chance you know 2 people who walk big cats on the leash...time to go buy a lottery ticket
  6. Sound like a great buy NIck, welcome to the forum as well. Enjoy the ride and do not worry about MPGs for now. As I found out, it takes time for the engine to break in so just drive and drive. The 303A is the same package as mine everything except the moonroof. Go take some picture and open up an album. Also, some posters here have been taking pictures of their CMax in some lovely surroundings, feel free to add some. Welcome and enjoy! :)
  7. Hee...are they seriously expecting 47MPG in the zero temps or even close to it... :hysterical:
  8. :worship: Wife wanted white. I shut up and signed the check. End of story.
  9. Yep, thats exactly what I had - however, I used the On/Off button next to the volume switch to get some function going again. Come to think of it, I think I hit the voice command paddle and then SYNC went nutz. Also, remember my other thread where the SYNC would not switch off, I think I press the voice command paddle there as well - I wonder if this all has to do with the voice command paddle....
  10. You're welcome Laurel. They are sweeties indeed, all cats are and their personality is so different. The original Tiger 1 was a hoot - I can take him for a walk like a dog and he was big, 25lbs. He was one of the early Toygers so he had the burly size. Unfortunately he was cut down in his prime at 10yrs with the dreaded heart disease, took him 3 months to die and $5,000 in vet bills but we gave him a chance. It was a sad, sad loss in our house. All 3 cats came from the originator of the Toygers...http://www.toygers.org/eeyaa/index.html :)
  11. Nice Don, love how the CMax looks with the 16", not bad at all. Seriously, if Ford has those wheels instead of the 17", I would have still picked it up. Also, thank you for your service. As you mentioned the F4, I was thinking about the History channel and how they were graphically recreating some of the dog fights from 'Nam. Watching it is one thing, another is when you had your a$$ on the line in the air - I tip my hat for you, sir  One question...what the hell are you doing in the snowy cold - it should be for young bucks like me....you sure you don't want to retire somewhere where its a lot warmer and temps are conducive to > 40MPGs?!?!?!? :)
  12. Game is simple - poster puts up a question, list some answers. Respondent takes a pick but MUST type in the next "Take Your Pick" question. Yeah, its a chain and you have to be fast to answer. Who makes the best beer in the world and if so, what is the best beer made there? 1. Germany 2. Belgium 3. North Korea 4. USA 5. Zimbabwe 6. Vodka allergic mad Russian scientist.
  13. I never had any MFT issues until I started hanging around this forum...now its all starting to happen to me.....did I just get jinxed :headscratch: I had 2 calls from Galpin about my GPS issue so they are concerned but what can they do - the software and card is the latest so it's all on Ford to release the next update. May be I'll go back to them to get them to reboot the MFT or can we do this ourselves?
  14. Hmmmmh...now and then I notice the "Indexing..." message. I did not think much of it as I have had no performance issues with my MFT playing my playlists or any of the songs. I will keep a tab on it.
  15. This is Tigger aka Lil Boy. Youngest of the 2. Tiger 2 aka The Big Kitters. Oldest and just 2 yrs old now.
  16. I don't think I will fill mine, its ridiculous the storage we get now in such a tiny thing. Yeah, I leave mine in there unless I am downloading. Also, to alleviate you concerns with the battery issue. This is what I do: just before I turn off my SEL, I put the handbrake on, make sure my feet is not touching any of the pedal and just press the OFF circle button. No issue with the battery at all. Also, I make sure nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighter (I have my phone charger that runs off this) as I noticed that my phone charge is still on (it has a cool blue light) when everything is off and locked.
  17. So here I was this morning heading to another job, cruising along the 118 westward. Navigation screen was on (but no destination set) and listening to a high beat Nelly Furtado (you'll know that song if you followed another thread of mine) and then NO music. WTF! The navigation screen was also frozen, the red cursor did not move and the map did not move. So I pressed the On/Off switch and after about 3 presses, the music was back on and surprisingly the navigation screen showed me moving and cruising on the screen. No problem...hmmmh. So when I took my lovely run down Box Canyon to Valley Circle to head to Woodland Hills, I noticed the clock was frozen and the navigation street name was "118 Ronald Reagan". So I carried on my tasks since the car seems to be functioning, music was on and the map was moving and then I snapped the following picture at the end: Which showed the clock has frozen at the time the MFT crashed and the nvigation street/road name still stuck on the highway where it crashed. I stopped the car, turned it off and turned it back on and MFT was fine. I have never seen this on my MFT. Has anyone else come across this?
  18. You know, the time I really needed that was at Mammoth driving there from Mojave and then Mammoth back down to Bishop. However, here in Los Angeles, we only get 40s or below in winter and its not for long periods. CA is a great weather state but with whacked out libs...jus' sayin.
  19. Nice one ptjones :happy feet: Nope, 601.4. I think thus far, we are the only ones breaking this mark for non-Energi CMaxs. Now, the Energis would be an insane distance on 1 tank but thats a totally different fish to fry. 2 threads on the same issues - great minds think alike dude
  20. Thanks ptjones and congratulations to you as well - 608!!!!!! Holy moly - that extra 7 miles makes it more impressive. I was beelining to the Costco pump in the red. So at least now with 2 owners posting 600 miles on 1 tank, MPGs above the 47 rated and at temps (for me around the high 60s low 70s) - this car is definitely doable. I think everyone who drives the regular CMax can get this when it warms up a bit. So here's a question, how does 2 owners get so much out of the CMax when all the other professional testers/reviewers could not even come close and they are driving closed circuits, taking a stroll along the PCH - given the times they have the CMax test vehicles that proportedly have similar odometer usage as us and driving when it was summer/autumn?
  21. Yep, thats where those crazy bills from - the blood work. I'll put up some Toyger pics tomorrow, got a report to kill tonight.
  22. Nice one dtorres...as someone said to, you need to improve your braking abilities. Good stuff
