  1. I don't think the "ft" is the altitude, its the distance to the next and previous street from where you are...
  2. Noah made some great points...but I digress on the platform. IMO and thought.....in terms of driving and stability, using a proven existing platform (Euro Focus/CMax) makes more sense vs designing a new platform for hybrid and forgetting that 80% of car driving is the driving itself than FE (although Prii owner would say 80% is FE and be damn with the handling). Having driven my CMax in a mix of > 50% freeway for a long time and > 50% city now for a long time, there is no doubt mind blowing MPGs are to be gotten from sticking to city. In a sense my new job allows me to drive either choice and I choose how much commute time I want to absorb for the FE....and my answer is...theres nothing like seeing high 70s and low 80s when I get to work and seeing low 60s for the whole day. Someone here said that ICE High MPG is the key in the Prii for Freeway and Toyota does that better - and I agree, they had 10+ years to get it right but I think we do pretty darn good freeway. It could be improved and I am sure Ford will...but its all we got and if I have to hypermile to squeeze some more MPG out, I don't mind...after all, what am I going to do on the road...play the MPG game ;)
  3. Yes, I do fid it amusing that Ford Motor finally did, a corporation vs a dealer. Ford never get any kudos for that. I would stay with this local dealer and hope they return Rainette soon...suxors to drive a :flyaway: a biplane...when the stealth bomber is out of action.
  4. No....we top off at when we fuel up/gas up THE WHOLE tank. Rules says it has to be done with 1 tank. Anyone who tops off is non-legit. AFAIK, no one should have or have been topping off. Hee...go to my Journey thread and text your :airquote: acceleration-by-concesus aka Prii buddies the picture of my 833.8 tank....that should blow them away about the max range of a CMax done with real work driving and not some hypermiling stunt ;)
  5. Best daily to work, to gym and back to home day run...
  6. Thats utter BS on their part, they won't try that crap if it was your hubby bringing it in...seriously. Just go back to your buying dealer and speak with the real manager and tell him, this was the last car you will buy from them - after this is all over. Lets see how they react...if they are stupid enuf to keep up their arrogant attitude, they're adios.
  7. GAS is a TRIP!!!!!! Make sure you head down there to check out the accessories...they do a lot of customization from panels to FULL BLOWN. These guys know how to deck out any vehicle. I remember when they brought out the 1st XJ in the new body shape and they had a open bar and food, GAS prepared a one of a kind, matt Jaguar...it was PRETTY.....the trim inside look so tricked out but it was classy...not the kind of poor taste crap when these knuckle Hollywood celebs trick out their car. When I bought my CMax, they threw in a $100 GAS giftcard with the purchase and I got some really nice shampoo, wax cleaner, dusters...like I said, I :flirt: they way they treat me and my family... Sure, when you decide, I can drop you some names....
  8. You better find a great dealer out your way when it comes to time ;)
  9. I don't think this "hurt" is bad at all...what are we looking at overall? I did a 2 x 800+ tanks and I went up a WHOOPIE-DOO 0.3.... frbill is KILLING ME on the Fuelly average. Its all in the context.
  10. truedat. I was driving next to an older Honda hybrid this morning with the rear wheel wells...I was thinking that I am probably doing better MPG than him, more power and NOT LOOK SO BUTT UGLY with the wheel well. Who knows, in 2016, someone could be posting the same thing about being next to my CMax and complaining how ugly my Maxine looks. Twilight Zone time, lol.
  11. wtf is wrong with these dealers....don't they know that being #1 means customer service. This would leave me a sour taste where I would consider another dealer, screw loyalty...if they don't take care of me, I won't take care of them later....customer service should be #1. The cost of a rental, they can write it off anyway they want and still not lose any money. Galpin way.
  12. Hey its money.... Gas prices are low right now salsaguy, so its still worth waiting for the 2014. I think the MPG will be much better in that car than ours. I can't wait to see those driving figures and DANG would I :flirt: to get my butt in one for a whole tank and see what I can do with it....even a 2MPG is enough to get me past the 900 mile barrier. But alas, it may be a 2017 when I get my next CMax and it will be all electric up to 300 miles by then...jus wait and see. Also, that stop and go traffic is perfect for the CMax...even speeds as low as 45-55 its very strong MPG.
  13. Thats right, we all are, according to CR, its NOT POSSIBLE. Someone should send this link to Consumer Reports. I would luv to see this pie-in-their face. 38MPG, my BIG FAT A$$. 23 out of 25 are above the 38MPG mark and we are talking owners from ALL OVER this great country. All we need is a contribution from Laurel to make it international flavor...
  14. Damn it frbill....you had to bust me....I had stealthy removed it. I did it cause, imo, it's more fun when others become King of the Hill...ala You! I looked at your MPG...thats a very, very high 700+ tank (well, you are in the 700+ club anyway). Keep it up. However, if I do something astonishing - and I jus may ;) - I'll let you guys know.,.PS I had a 66+ Trip for my day run today...that is astonishing in my book. Look for it in the 50+ thread...that could mean BIG things upcoming.
  15. :congrats: #6 on the ladder :) :congrats: #21 on the ladder :)
  16. I bought it for the 47/47/47 knowing about the MPG issues but I can say, its more than delivered...who would have thought that I can run up a 800+ tank TWICE for work. More than pleased with my CMax. I would more than recommend my CMax to anyone and everyone. If I can do the MPG, others can as well :victory:
  17. Jus approved,lol :love_shower: So do I....
  18. 1 Result: I was playing with like 10+ different route options last night and I ended up picking the most smoothest gradient with little or not hill peak climb. Today I tried it and brought in: 82.7 MPG (20.8 miles with 16.7EV and 4 regen) and most of all, instead of 0.28 gas used, it was 0.25 and I still felt a few squirts too many due to traffic. Now I need to check if my route back is the most optimized or not...thats the killer one. However, if I end up > 62MPG noverall for the 40+ miles, I am happy. Good stuff, thanks for the thread fbov :)
  19. This is BRILLIANT  - I am going to pin it. Been playing around with some routes and it's very surprising... :drop:
  20. Yeah, 2 bar is slow and like I said, if it ain't bother anyone, jus do it otherwise, do what you can. I climb the Sherwin Grade, north of Bishop and THAT IS TRULY brutal..I cringe as I watch 2 to 3 MPG just blown away on the climb. So...if you are down in SoCal...north Los Angeles...may I suggest you put a trip down Box Canyon from the 118 to 101 via Valley Circle, Kannan from the 101 to the PCH on your list of "must drive" CMax roads....EV all the way to Malibu for a cold drink at the Chart House. I think you'll enjoy the ocean and valley views from these roads (take a look at one of my Jus Photos threads in the Lounge) and I guarantee you - if you head the direction I just layed down - you'll be 100% battery and EV all the way down. Its a ton of fun :) Oi...welcome to the forum by the way
  21. Ouch....sorry to hear that. Hopefully, they gave you a biplane or stealth fighter as a replacement. Been out many times with an update but Galpin always takes care of me and I get to drive interesting cars....thats why I :flirt: 'em. My regards to your hubby too and your dad too...hope his is doing much better
  22. I personally believe they are improving engineering. If Ford was not interested, why would they spend thousand of dollars to host the meet & greet POW-WOW in Irvine, SoCal back in February. They brought in like 50+ engineers all the way from Detroit and for every CMax owner that showed up, got $200 kicked in. They learnt a lot and I agree...seeing all these updates for the one-ninja-kick liftgate, MFT updates and the PCM updates...its been sensational. I have never heard of any other car company doing this.... PS Toyota had the Prius out for 10+ years now. They are still STUCK at 45mph EV max...how many updates have they got from Toyota Motor Company - aside from the recalls?!?!?! Huh.. ;)
  23. ScubaDad did something similar....post it up on here and we'll take a look at it. There are many posts and threads here about Consumer Reports and many of us have SERIOUS ISSUES with their :airquote: unbiased reporting. Does CR sell bridges to nowhere as well? If you have time, go take sometime and scour the many threads and posts here...some are very funny. Anyway, I digress..welcome to the forum, 2nd post and you're already claiming the 600+ Mile Club....way to go :) PS Post #1 always contain the Honor Roll.
  24. No, its based on the latest history. My Nutz thread proved it where I was fluctuating from 0 to 20 depending on what I was doing...
