  1. So today, I was "lucky" enuf to find another dark gray SEL CMax ahead of me. I was driving along Roscoe in the west direction, a 40 mph street. I was in my usual "city-maximize-my-mpg" mode to test an old route with the 13b07 enhancement. Cool, I thought, nice to sit behind another CMax. As soon as he took off, I could tell this person gassed it straight away. I was in my 0-15 EV and kick in the ICE mode. This person was humming along and again, I caught up to him at the next set of red lights. Obviously, to me, this person was not hypermiling it and making use of the EV. I wondered what his Avg MPG was like? We did this over like 5 blocks and that CMax made a right, while I went on my merry way to work. I finished with 82MPG for the route, not bad. Going to take this same route and a couple of others to see how the 13b07 has improved. Usually, this was a mid 60s run and peaked at low 70s run pre-13b07. I got lots of stats so I can check. This is the 2nd time I was able to trail another CMax driver and observe how they drive. So anyone here take notice of any other CMax drivers? Do they fang? Do you ever wave "Hi"?
  2. I have been corrected ;) There is no explanation for it except it's gotta be someone who doesn't really like Priis, it could have been any car but it was a Prii and why would you put a CMax there...they have tons of other cars to choose from.....hmmmmh. Whoever it was...thanks for the laughs...u too Nick....LOL, :lol2:
  3. :congrats: Adair, still a nice improvement :)
  4. Yeah, it was the woman in the dark gray Prius, loading up her Prius who let loose the shopping trolley so the guy rush to grab it before it hit his baby. I present this picture as proof your honor... :judge: Note the baby and the back of the guy's head in the foreground.... Typical ditzy Prii shoppers.... :lol2:...I am sure that trolley was aimed at the CMax...she just had poor aim....u know, aiming by concensus...that's the whole problem with these Priis...everything is by concensus....acceleration, handling, loose trolleys at the CMax..... :noobie: (crap..I better get a like from Mr."I invented the concensus" Nick) ;) Ah, not so funny when these trolleys hit YOUR car though :swear: PS For a bonus point....the Prii woman has to reach and grab the top of the Prii liftgate and pull it down...damn it must be hard for the elderly woman, pity she doesn't have a ninja kick sensor under the rear bumper :sing_rain: So..this begs the question...was the Producer of the commercial, a CMax owner....hee....
  5. :gold_star: for Rachelll...lunacy really....but all in jest  Nothing new Rachel, defocussing off from the CMax until yesterday when I went to another market research thing, along with about 30 other CMax owners from all around Los Angeles. It was pretty cool but I hated the morning wake up...screwed up my day as I have been up way early all week. I did a we thread from my observations of the event...but can't say much about it since there is a non-disclosure in place. It was as fun as a survey can get...but NOT anywhere as thrilling as the time when I got to meet the Ford engineers in Irvine...but the check from them was nice indeed. I seriously did it for the money.... :spend: @ me anyday and I'll say anything u want  As for me, jus working on my golf swing bringing it back down to a single digit handicap that I once was. New G25 irons...ubber big heads help (big thread on that on the golf forums). It working, dropping my scores and I still have some looseness with some clubs but my new irons are MONEY....saving me a lot. I am especially working on my hip rotation since thats my achilles heels for many years, call it a lazy hip and its the cause of many errand swings & scores. Right now, my swing looks more like Tiger-Foley swing than Adam Scott...that dude is ubber flexible, like the juniors that I teach...and I am way past those years. Yeah...u know I am golf nut. Nothing new in Maxine, shes taking a breather from all the EVing at the moment. Running on ICE, taking some freeways. When is Rainette coming back, any ETA?
  6. Yep, I saw it too...looked jus like Ron's CMax.....I am sure Ron made some money out of allowing them to use his CMax... ;)
  7. Lets hope so. Did someone have a stat for that? zhackwyatt had a poll thread...but thus far, most appear to be prevalent in the SE. I, for one, am glad I stuck with my SEL. Ditto problem and mine was a early October 2012 build.
  8. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, huh? So if I am absent from here.....would someone be more fond of me? I don't think so, Tim. See when I answer my own question...thats a sign of..... :kookie: :stirpot:
  9. Good to hear Matt. You still have the aeromods on at this time? My miles have slowed down substantially...only at 21,000 miles at this time.
  10. SEs...at this rate, 2 out of the 5 would have battery issues in.... :waiting: .....3 months time. I know, such a pessimist.... :finger: PS There I said it....ha...no one dare accuse me of shilling aka defending for Ford now.... :rtfm:
  11. hey fotomoto....does this mean new oil filters as well with this new oil? (sorry not been following all this talk about the new oil).
  12. Nice!!! Great thread! When you bought your CMax, bet you never thought you would a washing machine in the back....did you now? ;)
  13. Yep....mine has not come off since they replaced that panel. Its sweet now and my shoesize remains the same ;)
  14. Next gen, Ford needs to add in a 17" lcd for total control of audio, navigation and entertainment and do away with the gear shifter and have a button gear....ala what Lincoln MKZ hybrid has. Yes, stealing the idea from Tesla but who cares, jus do it :)
  15. It works, swipe your finger across it with the key in your pocket and wallah. use it all the time....not many people know about this...well, at least I didn't until the Ford Motor Company Irvine Pow-Wow in Feb this year. Also, to unlock, swipe the finger behind the door handle to unlock it...I prefer that over the 2 pulls to unlock.
  16. It could have been....Ford, GM...or jus general. We commented on a lot of things. It was in the snail mail, last week.....
  17. One of the best feature of the Ford brand....it took Ford about 8 months to get it right though. We, at least I, rememger the thread here on whether it was one or 2 nin-jitsu style kicks on open it..or maybe it was a round house kick....or some mystical magic "whispering" or incantation we had to say before we approached that lift gate..... :lol2:
  18. So I dunno how I get my name into these things but I am collecting another check and a chance to see PLENTY of CMax owners in the one room. Due to a non-disclosure agreement, I won't mention place, name or company or what happened....however I think I can make these notes on the participants: 1. Nice to see plenty of CMaxs all parked in the one place tha is not a car lot. One participant commented on how they got their CMax and they were the only ones and it was rare to see another. feels like the forum back in December 2012. 2. CMax drivers there were diverse.....all sort of young women, older women, big guy, skinny guy, age, height, size...all walks of life for sure. I swear one dude looked like ScubaDadMIami in his outfit....I had to take a second glance. 3. A few of them are high miles CMaxers, > 25K miles. Those drivers were really luving the CMaxs and the ton of gas and $$$ saved. They had HUGE smiles on their faces when they were stating that... 4. So they were all discussing the new updates. I was there late and I didn't hear a word about the $550 Ford check. 5. Boy...they :flirt: their CMaxs and inversely, could not care diddly-squat for the Prii. Funny enough, all of them considered the Prii before the CMax. 6. Some drivers were unhappy about certain aspects of the CMax and felt this surveyw was one way to let "Ford" know. Hmmh...ok. 7. Some CMaxers were getting mid 30s before the update and now they are getting the low 40s. Similar stories to over here. 8. Conversely, some City Maxers are killing it in the MPG department. We all knew that...but how much KILLING is killing? LOL....I wondered. Would have luved to hear that conversation....and then we all got called into the survey. Last note as I was leaving....there were more White CMaxs than any other...yaaaah!!!! It was a fun event as much fun and intrigue as a group survey can get....but not AS MUCH FUN as the Irvine event. The sponsor of this event was unknown. I have my speculation but it's jus that, speculation. However, before anyone asks....no...Ford Motor Company was not there although we did get surveyed about what we thought of the CMax - naturally and to be expected. As for me, I as incognito...stealth. I was in my urban camouflage personality and gear, I didn't say anything about myself or the forum or even mention my MPGs, there was no need. Hell, I didn't even know these CMax forums existed..."forum"...what is that strange word..... <I am a figment of your imagination...I am not here> <look away> :future: :twister: lol. So right now, this CMax has returned about $1,000 in cash inlcuding the Ford check and these market research/pow-wow gatherings. Not bad... :) They may do other research in other states, I am sure of that....so be on the look out if you get a letter asking for a Auto/CMax survey. Avagoodweekend :flyaway:
  19. Don't be a whimp Nick, go one more to 46/50 psi....700...700 is calling..u know u want it....
  20. Welcome as well :). Easiest way to see if you have the 13b07 is to take the car > 65mph and see if EV comes on while the speed is above the range. 13b07 introduced EV all the way UP TO 85mph....you'll NEVER see that in a competitor hybrid. :)
  21. Ouch Rachel....that totally s*cks...sorry you're going thru this.
  22. Yeah, thats the PROBLEM with my City driving. It's not the speed limit but the non-timed red lights and the crazy, peak hour traffic braking for no gawd damn reason which forces more stationary time than driving time...ssssh. On a rare blue moon, I can get a stretch of timed lights.... I use to drive the country back roads at East Los Angeles, that was more fun and fast. We'll let me take that back, that one clogs too...LA traffic.
  23. Grill covers add 2-5(?threabouts) MPG according to Paul's testing, plus Gas Pods add another 3-5% (if the website is correct), so lets jus say, it adds 3 MPG (minimum), thats more than enough to pip PT's CMax over FTW. I ended up 62.2 and he ended up with 63.2, couple with a perfect terrain..wallah...BINGO....collect the cash.... :spend: :happy feet: I'll watch the Gas Pod thread before deciding...I know catsailor has 'em as well. Brake scores mean nothing to me, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100... :spend: ....my MPGs do not rely on the 100% effort. But that's jus me...
  24. lol, :flirt: it and enjoy it SDM. As much as I wanted mine to go to a nice golf club, the wifey saif its going to the car payment...whats the thing they say....can't live with....blah..blah...blah.... :drop:
