  1. I have a silver Energi with the light interior with the moon roof (didn't really want the option, but am enjoying it now) and 302A package. I really love the car, especially commuting to/from work without burning any gas. If you can live with the reduced trunk size I hope you consider the Energi. You won't be sorry either way. I have about 520 miles on the car and haven't filled the tank yet and the indicated average MPG is 53.6. Many of those miles are all electric from plugging it in and regen, so I have no idea how the mileage is really doing. Also don't forget other advantages like brakes and oil last several times longer than normal and HOV access (if you get the Energi).
  2. The DVD/training is a great idea and would have been worth every penny they paid for it. Especially since they are targeting "optimizers" and "early adopters", which describes just about everybody on this site. If this group can't consistantly make the MPGs, then no one can. The oil pan heater should also be built in, especially on the Energi, which is already plugged in. Again a no-brainer. The option to use a charger is brilliant in that it blurs the line between a hybrid and a plugin and provides a small, but meaningful benefit that I have long wished for in my Prius. It is all the more meaningful in the C-Max, with its larger battery and more powerful motor. I am not sure about the grill cover. It is a good idea, but the C-Max already has automatic shutters that do the job. What more would the cover do and could it be carried too far, to the point that the engine cooling is impared?
  3. The $750 is good on the Energi too. It worked for mine.
  4. The Energi has it as part of an emissions control system needed to be a PZEV.
  5. I got $750 on my Energi, but the additional $1,000 was only for the C-Max. By the way, the trunk in the Energi is a bit disappointing, but is bigger than my '02 Prius trunk and there is more than enough cargo space for my needs. Driving to and from work without burning any gas more than makes up for it most days. It always got to me that my Prius was gas only for short trips while the engine warms up. With the Energi, my commute or a trip to town and back are gas free, as is the warmup if I choose remote start.
  6. I got my Energi off the lot and had to take the roof or leave the car. I took the car and the roof and so far I am enjoying both. If you can afford the roof you probably won't be sorry you got it. Unless, as CNCGeek mentions, it affects crashworthiness or loading. I am not sure where to find that information right now.
  7. Mine recognized my house within the first three days. I always forget to check if it activates at work (I go to two different locations on different days). I will have to pay attention to that. One thing I like about EV+ is that by leaving the traction battery in its lowest state of charge, it makes better use of the ICE when it starts the next time and has to run to warm up the polution controls. Very clever.
  8. Easily, by the position of the wiper switch. In fact, ford requires it to be shut off before going through an automatic car wash. The manual mentions it. I took a closer look at the stalk positions. Moving up from the lowest position, there is an instant position that provides a swipe or two when you push the stalk all the way down. The next position is OFF, then there is intermittent/auto, and there are two constant speeds.
  9. I would not buy it for the reasons others stated above, but the only Energi I was likely to see before the end of the year had it and I was stuck with it if I wanted the car. I actually love it. It makes a silver Max look great and it also makes the interior of the car quite nice. I probably still wouldn't order it but i am glad I have it - for now.
