Rebate offers - how good is good?
shinytop replied to scottwood2's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
If you are a vet see if they are still offering the vet rebate. I had to give a copy of my DD214 but it was worth another 750 rebate back in May. -
Got my check today, bought May 30, out of three tanks I am about to get my second 600 mile tank and they gave me $475. Glad I did not wait three weeks to get my car!

When you do decide to buy find another dealer. The car absolutely comes with a cargo cover. I have bought used SUV's and they always are missing the cover. Found that dealers will sell covers from the used cars. They bring up to $350 bought from a dealer, 200 if bought from EBAY. I would not give that dealer another chance.

I made a 1 mile trip to the drug store yesterday. Going, while the car warmed up, I got 29 MPG. Return trip, almost all EV was 119 MPG. Today I made a 10 mile trip to the Dr. Got 50 MPG using city streets going with AC off. On way back I went interstate and AC on and also got 50 MPG. I love this car.

You set the view for the backup camera: Menu > Vehicle > Rear View Camera A little more from the manual: Active guidelines are only shown with fixedguidelines. To use active guidelines, turnthe steering wheel to point the guidelinestoward an intended path. If the steeringwheel position is changed while reversing, the vehicle might deviate from the originalintended path. The fixed and active guidelines fade in andout depending on the steering wheelposition. The active guidelines are notshown when the steering wheel positionis straight

A5 Nav Card now available
shinytop replied to JohnTrigger's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I just received my 39.95 card from ebay and it works just fine, shows as A5, no problem. -
I have my C-Max registered on Fuelly as a 2014 and it is not one of the 2014's when you go to the list of supposedly all C-Max's. And that list includes C-Max's from before 2013. The site is good for tracking your own mileage but not any good for checking for real stats, at least not on C-Max's.

Yes, the fan exhausts are located just above the wheel wells. I have not noticed it running after turning on my 14 SEL but have not been listening for it.

I had a lightning strike yesterday that fried my TV. What does that have to do with size vs SUV you ask. So I am going to be buying a new TV in the 50-60 range. Was wondering whether it would fit in the MAX so I took the 55 inch box from my wife's TV and it fit in my C-Max with room to spare. In my last car, a Hyandai Sante FE her 55 was a tight squeeze including tilting it so it would get through the hatch. Much easier in the Cmax.

The latest turn on to turn off stats.

And those of us with '14's don't have lifetime stats. Wish I did.

Read the post about WD-40 after I had ordered another product. I remember that about WD-40 now. I used this product. Sprayed it on, watched for a couple minutes so drips would not get on any other surface since the decal was on a vertical surface, then wiped it off. Dried it well added a coat of wax. Looks a lot better than white decal on beautiful sterling gray paint.

My dealer had me see a lady for the keys. She gave me a 30 minute lesson on the car. She also gave me a phone number for questions. The dealer also offered classes on Saturdays. Since I live 240 miles from that dealer I have not attended the classes. The dealer was Long-Lewis Ford in Birmingham, AL. I found this forum before I bought the car and downloaded and read the manual before I bought the car. Considered it due diligence. I knew about the battery issues and the mileage issues. Have not had the battery issues and am beating the mileage from my sticker AND going to receive a check from Ford. Pretty good buying experience thus far.

A5 Nav Card now available
shinytop replied to JohnTrigger's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I have the A4 card. Used one day for a trip in the city and the nav took me under an overpass indicating it was an entrance for the road. That overpass and roads have been unchanged for 30 years. Oh, well. -
My brother and SIL's satisfaction with the C-Max is what led me to investigate it. Today SIL and family are visiting at Pensacola Beach and I got a pic of the C-Max's together.

I made it. Actual fuel added was 12,2 gal. Fuel warning was only in red for a couple miles. Still had 15 to empty. Apologize for upside down pic. Doubt I will reach it again until fall arrives. Have not been using AC much but will now that I made this exclusive club! And this was my second tank!

Maxus has 2014 Rear Window Air Deflector
shinytop replied to mtb9153's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I agree. My 14 SEL gets very dusty on the back window and I don't use dirt roads. -
It depends on how long it has been sitting on the dealer's lot. I bought mine June 29 and its build date was 3/14, I forget which date in March.,

The poll shows that SE models with option group 200A or 201A have a higher incidence of battery problems. What is the option group on your 27K SE? A quick search online shows that locally the STICKER price of just over 27K would be an SE with 202A option group. On Ford site choose CMAX, choose view inventory, put in zip near the dealer you are seeing the car, and you can view the sticker.
-
No, SE's don't start that high. SEL's appear to be safe.

Thank you, found Goo-Gone on Home Depot's web site.

Walking by my beautiful C-Max one day I thought how tacky the white dealer logo looked. So I put a finger nail up to one corner and it peeled off. Or that letter peeled off. So I took them all off but have some sticky residue remaining. While less obvious than the white logo against the dark gray background it now looks like just an area of dirt. Any advice on what to remove it with that will not harm the finish?

Ok, guys and gals, could I have some reassurance. Second tank, I am at 570 miles. Range is listed at 50 miles. My tank gauge is well below 1/8th tank but still white. Am I safe to go the last 30 miles?

Ya, when you consider what a cell phone is. Even the best retail without subsidy for <700. And they communicate much further on many bands, have wifi, not to mention a processor and screen.... Remotes that can control TV, BluRay, cable box, stereo are much less than that. Shoot, my cell phone also can control all my entertainment devices. We need an app for the cell phones that can be coded for our cars.

I don't believe anybody thinks that Ford is not responsible to solve this issue. What they have given you is a temporary solution to your problem of relying on your car to take you where you need to go. You don't have to listen, you don't have to believe in their good will. But it would get you further than screaming at Ford.
