  1. I have seen that sweet spot. But the fly in the ointment is you have to be cruising on level ground. Uphill or downhill quickly loses the sweet spot. Even in the low rolling hills I have in NW Florida and south Alabama. If your SOC is not at or near the top the sweet spot does not get you the 47+.
  2. I like the Weathertech mats but they need a better color for my light stone interior. I confess I probably do not need them and lacking the proper color is saving me $200. Currently saving another $100 by not having any battery problems. I will probably get tint put on before next summer. It is extraordinary how much we spend on addons after buying cars, cameras, phones, etc.
  3. Solid state drives are not as impressive to me as the drives for your cameras and phones. Up to a 128 Gig smaller than your fingernail. I built computers when you put the memory in a chip at a time bending the spider legs carefully to fit.
  4. It's peculiar that I drove cars for over 50 years with floor mats that did not fasten to the floor and never had to hire a lawyer or join in any class action lawsuit:)
  5. Registration is free, at least it was on my 2014 SEL. The dealer actually registered for me and game me my username and password.
  6. Manufacture date, 3/14, purchase date 5/30/14, no problems in 2100 miles, MPG over 46. SEL, 302 package.

    My New SeaMax

The only time mine makes a big noise is when I have it in Low instead of Drive. Easy to do in the Cmax.

    NEWBI

Amateurs! My wife was such a bad back seat driver that I pulled over on the highway one day and told her to drive. I never drove with her in the car for 18 months and she had to swear to keep quiet.
  9. I bought My 2014 SEL 302A package in gray sterling on May 30. I have just over 2000 miles on it and love it. Not a single problem. Second and third tanks were both over 600 miles and fourth tank would have approached 700 but we are currently getting hottest weather of the year so AC will run. Tried the high ICE on the highway yesterday and the instant MPG was around 45-55 when the SOC was maxed out. The Interstate around here is rolling so there is not much flat to keep that up but was happy to confirm the high ICE mpg's.
  10. Keep in mind when you are seeing that 20 MPG range on ICE the ICE is using part of the power to charge the big battery.
  11. I am not convinced that is correct. The two times I have had it in low instead of drive I could tell by the high pitch sound. I know the L does not change gears in a CVT but it feels like it tells the CVT to use a different ratio.
  12. Here's a question. Why does a car with a CVT need a low gear? If the computer chooses the proper ratio depending on all the inputs would it not put it into low gear when needed?
  13. I am sorry, I did not mean to interrupt your rant by asking relevant questions.
  14. I made three mile trip to pharmacy and got around 30 MPG, car had to warm up. Trip back was almost all EV and got over 100MPG on screen. If that ever happens again I will take a pic.
  15. Just curious, how many EV miles did that state of the art Hyundai get? Every car has something missing that another car has. If the sum total is not worth it then don't buy or get rid of it.
  16. My navigation voice changes volume if you use the know while nav instructions are speaking.
  17. Folks, it is by Microsoft. You can use their software and tell that nobody tested it in real life. Navigate through explorer. You double click on an folder and it opens the folder at the BOTTTOM of the window knowing you are looking for something in the folder. Proof that MS know a hell of a lot more about selling software than they do creating software.
  18. ya, but first try was pretty fast. I am sure I will get the hang of it.
  19. Bought the shades that Kellytoons has, jumbo size from Pepboys. Fit well, go up fast, folding them took about 5 seconds the first time, a minute the second time. Car was much cooler, much easier to drive without ac.
  20. I have not yet made a trip out of town using the navigation function of MFT. It has worked fine in town but I knew where I was going. I have used Google's Navigator for years and as a backup I have a mount in my car for my phone. It has a 5.5 inch screen so should not lose much if I don't like the nav function of MFT. Have not had much success with MFT understanding my voice commands. Will have to try that more. My first disappointment with MFT is that it is pressure sensitive rather than haptic feedback like phones and even my laptop are.
  21. I guess Jelly Bean might be the issue. Both phones I have used the app with are Kit Kat.
  22. After I send the address to my car the next time I am in the car I hit the voice paddle, say services, it says there is an address to sync, do I want it to set as my destination, I say yes and I am in navigation with that address as my destination.
  23. Ok, guys. When I bought my car the salesman set me up an account on Ford Sync. On my android phone I have an app called Sync Destinations. I login to the app using the username and password I got when I bought my car. Among the choices on the main menu is "Route me to". That menu gives you choices among which is Select from my phone contacts. You choose the contact and the phone asks if you want to send to your car. It then directs you the Services menu in the car and it will upload that contact's address to the car. You can also manually enter the address and upload to car.
  24. If you just purchased chances are the window sticker had already been corrected to the new figures. If it had you are not qualified for the check. I bought on May 30 and they changed the estimated MPG two weeks later. Check your window sticker.
