  1. Keep pushing it, those are excellent results.
  2. She's eyeing that CMAX up as a "companion" ! After all the CMAX is a bull with all its HP!
  3. Seems as though CMAX sales have stabilized after all the EPA kerfluffle.... http://wallstcheatsheet.com/automobiles/people-like-fords-hybrids-for-more-than-just-their-fuel-economy.html/
  4. Your mom sounds great. Next time though tell here just to give you cash because you need to hit that 600 mile tank!
  5. Wouldn't the vehicle produce zero emissions if it stayed in EV mode? Fotomoto may be on to something with transmission fluids needing to be warm.
  6. Great news Scott! Glad you were finally able to pull the trigger. Now the fun begins. I told my kids "You guys like the PS4? Well the CMAX is MY gaming system! "
  7. I can confirm this. Living on top of a hill, each morning my commute starts with a 1 mile down hill run. Regardless of the battery SOC if the ICE is cold it will always kick in at 35 MPH. The speed limit on that stretch is 50MPH and I've tried many times to hit in from a cold ICE condition and it's the same result. Now if ICE is already warmed I can achieve the posted speed limit on EV alone. Temps don't change the result. It's happened if the temps are in the 50's or the 80's
  8. Interestingly, Ford ran a commercial here in PA today that mentioned the CMAX and it's great fuel mileage. Did anyone else happen to see it elsewhere?
  9. Push button start actually concerned me on the CMAX. There were two occasions I recall in my Escape where I accidently exited the car with it still running (once for over an hour), not realizing it with the quiet engine and bad hearing on my end. I could envision many times doing the same thing with a CMAX. :sos:
  10. Leather heated seats & hands free lift gate. I used that all the time in my 2013 Escape.
  11. Wow, great run you got going there. Keep this post updated!
  12. Scott: I bought a 2013 on a lot for over a year. The longer they sit , the more willing a dealer is to move it. Use that to your advantage.
  13. +1 to ptjones I bought my CMAX for saving cash at the fuel pump, not for the environmental impact it may have. At 5786 miles and a lifetime average of 47.7 MPG (48.4 by CMAX accounting) the cash I save makes me feel very GREEN!
  14. I live in the mountains of NE PA and frequently climb more than 200' in elevation changes. Each day as a matter of fact. My average speed is 5 MPH over the speed limits. Look at my fuelly numbers below. On board shows 48.2 Average. Just turned 5000 miles. On a recent trip to Niagara Falls, using mostly highway at 65+ WITH the AC on and 4 people in the car along with luggage we still averaged 43 for that trip. I also aware that those numbers will drop in the colder months, just as they did with every vehicle I owned. It is also a car with some faults, just like most new vehicles. I need a trip to the dealer for a few minor issues, just like my 2013 Escape had. I still get recalls on our 2006 Chevy Trailbalzer. We are waiting on parts to be available for that one and it's over 8 years old. Be patient and learn what the car wants. It will reward you. :shift:
  15. You might try "goo gone" also. It's used for removing adhesives from stuff. Can be found at any local box store.
  16. Checking carfax by searching the VIN might bring up some info.
  17. Here's another article with a similar take on what Ford is doing. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/08/24/how-ford-motor-company-will-take-on-toyotas-prius.aspx I'm hopeful for very good things to come from Ford in all of this.
  18. Those with an energi may know more but i believe the energi have two HV batteries. The larger batter is for the 20 miles on EV alone. Once that batter depletes then you are running on the second smaller batter in hybrid mode like a regular CMAX. The larger battery does not get recharged by coasting, braking, or ICE runs. It needs to be plugged in to recharge it.
  19. I'm hopeful Ford continues to strengthen the hybrid market with whatever they call a new model in the future. The really have a solid car in the CMax. Makes you wonder why they introduced it, never really marketed it, and now seemingly will quickly let it go by the wayside. My last vehicle was a 2013 Escape that had a bunch of recalls (some serious like engine fire possibilities) and took some bad press. Yet I still enjoyed driving it very much and found it to be just the right size between too small to haul anything and too large for good fuel economy. Even with all the bad press Ford is selling these things by the bucket full. Yet the CMax does not? The crossover SUV market WITH a solid hybrid/Electric combo I bet would be huge. I looked at a Subaru Crosstrek hybrid as an example of AWD in a hybrid platform. The fuel economy was rated just a bit above its non hybrid counterpart so it didn't make sense. What it DID show was that an AWD hybrid IS possible.
  20. And I just saw this on yahoo: https://screen.yahoo.com/ford-tells-u-dealers-stop-153144773.html
  21. You might be a redneck if....................................... :worship:
  22. Lot of great explanations to my question. Some things I hadn't thought of. This is a great group to be a part of. Living in a fairly mountainous area, a lot of my ICE time is used to accelerate on the climbs, making the MPG in ICE mode suffer.
