Diesel is better for pure freeway. But you would then need to factor the higher cost of diesel fuel to that. And if Hwy 14 is slow moving (guessing it usually is?), there goes that diesel advantage. Another question I thought of recently. Just how efficient is the 2.0 Atkins we have anyway? A rough look shows the avg MPG on ICE alone is 20.67 for me. (miles drive with ICE divided by gallons used). There are more fuel efficient engines than that out there so why this choice for the hybrid? I'm no engineer but would guess they opted for more HP with the hybrid system than better fuel economy?

Saying just "Destination Home" works too. I can almost never get MFT to recognize a spoken address and end up calling her nasty names she never responds to. Siri she is NOT!

I they could find a way to move the battery and allow more room in the trunk area I would be all over the Energi tomorrow! It just seems so odd they aren't more actively pushing this vehicle.

They only serve "pop" in the 600 club. Need to be in the 700 club to be served the "good" stuff! Seriously, I don't understand why Ford is not advertising the CMax more. At least they aren't here in PA. This car has such great potential yet they seem to want to keep it low key. Makes no sense.

So my lifetime of 47.5 MPG with just 4500 miles is wrong??? I think I need to make an appointment with my "Quality Plus Ford dealer" to get them to have the computer stop lying to me! :happy feet:

You got the SEL hands free option. I had it on my Escape and loved it!

Just need the time to take it in. More than likely not till September with my schedule the way it is. It's hit and miss. Sometimes it works normally, sometimes not.

In order to see these options go into settings, navigation, and then route preferences I believe. There is an option there that says something like "always use preferred route?". Set that to "No" and you will get the above screen every time you set a destination. Select one of the options and you will see the colored route highlighted on the screen.

This car keeps surprising me. We did a 640 mile round trip up to Niagara Falls. Mostly freeway speeds (67 MPH), fully loaded with luggage, the wife, and two kids. AC on ALL the time to please the Mrs.! Computer showed 45.6 MPG for the round trip. :love_shower: Now if I can just get it back to the dealer to fix the liftgate issue. I like it so much I don't want them to have even for a day!

Are you going by instantaneous MPG? If so, don't. It will constantly vary. Fill the tank, reset trip 1 or 2 and use a whole tank of gas. Then check your average for the tank after refilling.

Once you learn to drive it mid 40's will be a piece of cake for you. Congrats!

Wait till the end of your lease to purchase. There will be a clear purchase price in your lease agreement. You will still be responsible for your state sales tax on the buyout price. It's a rather simple & quick process done by your dealer.

The SE I bought sat on a dealer's lot for over a year. The SEL on the same lot sat just as long.

We were away for the past few days. Several times during our trip the rear gate would not open with the power lift, had to do it manually. I'll get this to the dealer's attention very soon.

Has my first odd happening with my Cmax today. Using the FOB, I clicked twice to open the tail gate like I had many times already. The rear tail lights blinked but the gate didn't open. Thinking I may have been too far away I instead approached the car and used the button up under the license plate holder. And still the gate wouldn't lift, I had to manually lift it. There was nothing obstructing it. When pushing the button to close it, it still would not go down on its own so I shut it manually. After returning to the car a few hours later, all was normal again. Has anyone else experienced this? :headscratch:

Thanks for the info. I'll watch it and see what happens per tank. I do take some short trips but mostly travel 20 + miles each time out. Had the car since June 30th and hit 2000 miles today :)

I dont keep the subscription once it runs out. But for 6 months I DO use it.

Did the dealer ask you for an email and password when you took delivery? That is to register your sync account. Traffic is a feature of Sirius which is automatically activated when you make your purchase. At least that's how my last two Fords were. What package do you have in your Cmax? i.e 203A, 302A etc?

On my last fill up, the trip computer showed I used 11.6 gallons of fuel (see attached). The printed receipt showed I put 12.657 gallons back in. I can understand them being off a few tenths but not a whole gallon. Has anyone else encountered such a large discrepancy?
