  1. Nicely documented. I would not own a vehicle that has had as many unscheduled dealership visits as this one. I would lemon law it asap and avoid having to organize or post any of these items ever again.
  2. After an entire month and a half goes by between your updates and you say it's still not fixed I'm beginning to think you're making this stuff up to scare people away from the vehicle, troll-like. If not, you need to make more noise at the dealership and Ford Corporate level asap! Personally I would have made such a scene 6 weeks ago they'd have given me a free rental while the work was done and had it completed weeks ago. Get on it if you're serious.
  3. My DVR skips thru commercials so I have no idea if they're advertising in norcal, but I'm seeing them everywhere. Earlier this week I saw 2, a ruby red Energi, and a ruby red Hybrid SEL, in the same lane. Somebody in my work bldg has one too. Good to see I'll eventually have pick-and-part choices eventually for spare items. LOL
  4. Makes sense that like most/all other govt programs, the actual effect is completely unlike the desired effect -- go figure. Simply tint your windows and jump in the diamond lane like most other drivers I see around here. I know I've done the same thing many times, as it's ridiculous seeing nobody in that lane while everyone else sits in bumper to bumper traffic.
  5. This can't be real. You're obviously running on on much smaller circumference wheelbarrow wheels/tires to goose your shown mileage to trick us into thinking these cars can get anywhere over what the, ahem, "pros", at consumer reports get. :worship:
  6. Hoping this these leaks are related solely to 2013 models. LOL Please keep us updated on your issue too, dtorres.
  7. And when all else fails, RTFM. :) Here's a good link to the owner's manual where the engine air filter replacement procedure begins on page 229. I like to use the online and/or PDF versions because it's so much easier to find keywords using good ole "Ctrl+F". http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/owner_information/2014-CMAX-Owner-Manual-version-1_OM_EN_11_2013.pdf
  8. Ah gotcha. I agree. Once my 3yr/36k warranty is up I'll be looking closely at the Helm set then. Thank you both for your input here!
  9. As stated in the original post, this thread is to minimize the chances of anyone buying something of dubious origin/quality, and who said $170 is too much money if quality is excellent? Not sure I understand your meaning about the interior floor mats, but I appreciate the links to Helm.com you included. Have you personally used the Helm manual, or know anyone who has? If so, how's the quality? Ptjones, can you or anyone else who has it comment on quality?
  10. I searched and haven't seen a new thread about this topic for quite awhile so thought I'd bring it up again in case things have changed. Short of buying brand new Factory Service Manuals for mucho dinero, or a short term and expensive subscription to various websites, does anyone have a good source for the hybrid service manuals? I bought a CD off ebay for my 2008 Escape Hybrid back in the day, but it wasn't quite up to snuff (the PDFs' various paragraphs were overlaid on many pages and unreadable), and I'd like to avoid buying crap like that again. If you do have a good source, please include a URL, which manuals you have, example of ebay buyer with good quality CDs or manuals, costs, etc. For instance, anyone ever buy a service manual on CD from these ebay sellers? Or from anyone else? If so, how's the quality, etc? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-FORD-FAMILY-OF-CARS-TRUCKS-Service-Repair-Manual-Workshop-WIRING-DIAG-/221540848358?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AC-Max&hash=item3394dd12e6&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Ford-Service-Manual-dvd-C-Max-Hybrid-Energi-SE-SEL-Escape-S-SE-Titanium-/141350103076?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item20e91f6824&vxp=mtr Again, please post sources, seller info, costs, etc, to help everyone else out looking for service manual info. Thanks!
  11. I would lemon law that car asap then. Maybe the line was drunk that day and put everything in backward. There's no way I'd stand for 66 days worth of downtime on a vehicle. Get another one or something else entirely and don't look back.
  12. If your #s are true, your dealership sounds incompetent, to say the least. Have they updated all the modules on the vehicle? Even if they have, have them reflash them all again. Have they properly tested the battery, or replaced the battery, or just recharged it? Have they taken all TSBs into account on potential causes (water pump, wiring, etc)? Please let us know what else has been done, and what finally resolves it. Or if you end up lemon-lawing it. LOL
  13. I've read on Mustang forums where the code can be triggered by the ethanol content in the gas, which is actually federally mandated to be reduced during winter months in cold climates. It could also be something as simple as a bad O2 sensor. Update us on what the issue was so we'll all know what to look for.
  14. Fukushima and Ebola for starters. Yeah, I'm curious too. Seems a bit odd since if I had push button start/stop I would first put the car into park, get my feet comfortably off the pedals, then shut the car down with the button. I've never had any feet on any pedals after transmission is in P then turning a vehicle on or off.
  15. I'm sure you already know to open a case with Ford and have the vehicle towed to the dealer to troubleshoot and inspect. Based on everything I've read thus far, my guess is the dealership probably had that vehicle sitting so long it drained the battery, then sold you the car with a low state of charge after they jumped it. Have the dealership properly test the battery and either replace it or charge it properly. And please let us know what the resolution is!
  16. Wow, straight from the horse's mouth. I'm a believer then. Good on you and Marc Smith for getting the facts straight and updating us all.
  17. Depends on how you understand it, but carrying that assumption forward it sounds like we should then expect Ford to to continue to send rebate checks to anyone that ever buys a used C-Max that had originally qualified for the rebate in the first place. "Hey Ford, it's 2018 and I just bought a used 2013 C-Max. Where's my rebate check?" Where would the madness stop?
  18. Read OP's post though -- he bought it used. Certified Used, but used none the less. I've seen nowhere on the interwebs where anyone who bought a C-Max used has gotten any payment.
  19. First word of your post that jumps out at me is "used". Call Ford Customer Service, but I bet you'll get nothing because you're not the 1st owner.
  20. You should be able to go here and input the VIN to see if the vehicle qualifies for the fuel economy rebates. Would be odd if they hadn't already changed out the window sticker though. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do;jsessionid=C1BAABA2DC887259C62C3492A02754A3.eccvas505
  21. Nothing here. Sounds odd though, especially an entire 1.5hrs. I'd be curious where they said this will take place though.
  22. This all day long. I thought my 97 Saturn SL1 was bad till I did a u-turn in Max. I love the tight, responsive steering and feel, but the turning radius is pretty bad for any new car.
  23. Be aware of the weight on any wheels other than stock. BBS makes good stuff but some of their wheels are heavier than stock, which will affect driving dynamics such as acceleration, braking distance, handling, etc. It might be a small difference, and hopefully not noticeable, but figured I should mention it just in case. Disregard if your BBS choice is lighter than stock! LOL
  24. I just got the CS20 3M film on my 5 rear windows (nothing on the front sides though) and it's perfect for my purposes. Here's some info on that product line: http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UgxGCuNyXTtnxfVMXT_EVtQEcuZgVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=Color%20Stable%20Brochure%2098-0150-01 3M also has some other higher end stuff that rejects more heat, etc, but I'm not one to spend that kind of cash.
  25. C-Max is kinda shaped like a cow but handles much better -- cow tastes better though.
