  1. Definitely easier. I have a copy on each PC for when I Ctrl+F a specific topic.
  2. Black in both FEH (over a year with them) and Max (a week). Figured it would look the cleanest as time went on, and it did. I had some grey rubber mats in a Caravan long ago and they were horribly discolored after just a few months and I could never get them completely clean.
  3. I've had both. Weathertech DigitalFit in FEH, and Husky WeatherBeater in Max. Fit is very good for both. I've read the Husky mats cover the driver's dead pedal area better. They should both last forever. I bought the Husky mats and saved over $80 versus the Weathertechs. Hope that helps.
  4. Amen, Mike. Clowns around here can NOT drive or park worth a damn. I park far away from everyone else in lots just to avoid idiots opening their car doors into me. My other car is a plastic Saturn and I still park away just to avoid possible paint chips. I'll be getting window tint done hopefully this weekend and I'll report back.
  5. I paired my older droid phone and use the voice command option on our SE all the time. I haven't yet tried the turn-by-turn directions capability yet since I have a garmin, and the phone as backup.
  6. Wow! Curious on weather conditions, speeds, etc.
  7. LOL, congrats. Of course the real trick will be duplicating that on your next trip when the HVB is depleted from all that use! :) I'd like to find a way to charge the HVB on our Hybrid when it's sitting in the garage so I could get similar results.
  8. This bears repeating -- I had no idea it could be accessed like this, but worked fine for me. Thanks!
  9. LOL, I didn't say it but might've thought it, Scott. :victory: Keep in mind it's your money they're getting so do whatever makes you feel comfortable about the purchase, bro. I went in knowing what I wanted, what I was willing to pay, and had a pleasant experience because they knew what they had to do to get my business.
  10. Whatever the case, with a used vehicle it could be anything. Does the car still have the factory warranty? If yes, have the dealership diagnose and resolve. If not, you might have to pay to chase down your issues. Keep us updated.
  11. And have them put a new battery in the one you really want, and ensure all modules have been updated to latest firmware revisions, so you feel satisfied you've made the right choice.

Let me guess, your problem is you can't stop driving it cuz it's so fun right? Or you feel like hugging it constantly. Welcome, and be sure to keep us all updated on your experience.
  13. Very odd. I'm not sure what's been on the rubber mats you've used, or what kind they are, but my feet never stick to the floor of any weathertech or husky mat I've purchased, and I wear Nike runners 24/7 -- never had passenger complaints either. Have you tried the Weathertech or Husky form-fit liners? I hate to vacuum any small particle like sand, dirt, leaves, whatever, from auto carpets -- these mats save a lot of cleaning time, and keep the underlying carpet perfectly clean. BTW all, I just scored the OEM Ford cargo liner from ebay for $60 shipped to the door --- good prices can be had if you look hard enough.
  14. Not only do the rubber Husky (and WeatherTech) floor mats cover much more of the floor area than the carpet mats, thus protecting those areas better (and staying in place), but they make it much easier to vacuum. Turns a 30min front/rear process into a 10min process, so what's not to love about that? And you won't even notice they're rubber/plastic after you put them in the vehicle since they're form-fitting.
  15. EDIT: AH CRAP -- SORRY TO DIG UP SUCH AN OLD THREAD -- I GAFFED A SEARCH AND THOUGHT THIS WAS A NEW TOPIC. I did a lot of research and looked at the different models, and ext/int colors, and decided on a bare bones ruby red SE with charcoal cloth mostly due to the lower cash outlay and ability to hide crud from dogs/kids. My wife noticed I volunteer to drive everywhere now since it's so much fun. The more I drive it, the more I enjoy it, and I would totally recommend it. I got 54mpg dropping off my son at soccer practice (high 60s, mostly flat hwy) with some city street driving to the supermarket, and 43mpg coming home after picking him up from practice.
  16. I just bought new Husky 99741 WeatherBeater black front and rear floor liners for $150 shipped to the door off an ebay seller. They are excellent quality and fit and were much cheaper than the WeatherTech liners I had in my FEH. Look around, you can find either one on CL, Amazon, or Ebay cheaper than most other automotive sites.

Welcome! Your last paragraph is spot-on for me. I lurked quite a bit getting a feel for issues, likes, dislikes, and once I bought it was very happy I did -- blast to drive, very quiet, roomy enough for 5 humans and some junk, etc.
  18. Excellent post. Thanks for the link on the device. You mention sleep mode occurring 10min after being locked, but does it also happen in the same time frame if the doors are shut but UN-locked?
  19. I'm curious how you verify this is when the 12V battery gets drained to the point of failure. Can you elaborate on this? I ask because it coincides with another member who verified a full 12.5V at ~1:30am but 8.5hrs later he read 5.2V.
  20. Be aware that poll is likely showing nothing more than a correlation between the total number of those models sold. If more SE models are sold than any other model, then it stands to reason it would show the most problems, not necessarily that that model itself is more prone to the issue. I believe I read that drdiesel and others verified the 12V does indeed get charged by the HBV/Charger when plugged in. In fact, I'm almost certain they said the 12V charging system works better after the most recent software upgrades. This was in the "dead battery" thread I think. Cowspotdog, you should definitely have someone at the dealership who's qualified to look at the 12V battery thoroughly test it. Sounds like it's likely damaged and won't hold a charge properly at this point. A replacement that has been fully charged properly may be in order. Also, ensure the dealership looks up any battery TSBs and upgrades all modules to the latest code to minimize the likelihood of older code causing the discharge issues.
  21. While a usb port supplies a max of .5A, whatever might be controlling that port and other functions "behind the scenes" is likely drawing much more power. Something like that could explain drdiesel's large battery drain. Just a thought. jdbob mentions Microsoft software running everything there -- that explains the problem right there! :) We should expect "C-Max Service Pack 3" to fix all these potential problems when it gets released. :woohoo: Whatever the case, it's an interesting problem with some potential fixes to fix some potential problems. I'm not too worried either way since I have this forum and its awesome members. Still though, I need to drop my Max off at the dealership to program the 2nd key they lost, so I'll request they throw it on their good charger too.
  22. I wasn't clear enough either. LOL I knew you weren't not comparing them, I was merely trying to say it sounds like the Audi seemingly kept the battery charged/maintained better than many people's C-Max, for whatever reason. Sounds like some peoples' (all?) C-Max charging systems often just aren't configured properly somehow, or there's a constant/intermittent load, or... who knows. Whatever the normal case may be for these cars, IF any given charging system is working properly there would be no need to include anything regarding supplemental charging/maintaining in a service manual or elsewhere. Sounds to me like Ford, like any manufacturer, simply thought the charging system would work well enough not to need an occasional/supplemental charge so they didn't bother writing a process to do it, or a TSB to be aware of it. All things being equal, if everything is working the way it should, there wouldn't be all these dead battery problems. I'm still confused on whether C-Max Traveler's verified intermittent load problem is typical of the dead battery problem, or if everyone else has a different problem entirely, but I certainly would like an answer on what to be aware of and be prepared for. I know in another thread the drdiesel said a usb port appeared responsible for draining his battery -- I wonder if that could be a common issue among others, or if it's again just an intermittent, and sometimes errant system/module simply hanging and not shutting down properly after vehicle shutdown. EDIT: C-Max Traveler, can you provide info on the specific device you're using to check vehicle voltage? I'd like to check that out.
  23. I remember reading that post late last night -- you took a pic after having permanently removed that module. Since my own SE was made in May and wasn't sold to me til 10 days ago, I'm going to charge my battery before the wife gets stranded and pissed, just in case. Based on anecdotal evidence here it doesn't sound as though the current set up on the C-Max is as robust as your Audi was, so may not be a good comparison. I'm new to the whole SoC aspect to charging and battery systems, but it certainly sounds as if there are some unresolved issues with how Ford is trying to maintain reliability. Sounds like a combination of factors could be at play here. I would doubt any service manual would have anything about battery service, as it would hopefully be assumed that battery charge wouldn't be an issue, much like with your Audi.
  24. Nice. I can't wait to break ours in over the next 1-3k miles to see what other MPG improvements we can get. Took my son to soccer practice last night on 60/40 hwy/local and it said I got over 48MPG in high-60s outside temps.
