  1. Mine have been fine for 4+ months since I got the vehicle. Of course, now that I say that, they'll screw up......
  2. I had the CMax in for the check engine light and asked them to investigate the occasional two kick issue on the liftgate. They researched it and responded to my complaint with "found engineering is working on a fix to address this issue, and in the meantime they are suggesting to use the key fob". So, hopefully Ford is working on a fix to this issue. It doesn't bother me THAT much, but it would be nice for it to work (perfectly) as designed.
  3. The "problem" with looking for drips under our CMaxs is that the underside of the engine is completely covered by a panel for aerodynamic reasons. Thus, I suspect an oil or antifreeze leak that is just a few drips every so often is going to go unnoticed, as the panel will hide the drips for quite some time.
  4. Mine came on again, as I suspected it would. The first time I reset it with my OBDII reader, and it had a P0456 (small evap leak) code. It happened again this past Weds, same check engine MIL and P0456 code, so I took it in on Thur and they replaced the purge valve in one day, and I have it back already. They used a purge valve with a model number ending in B, but there might be some evidence in this thread that a new version, rev D, exists. We'll see if mine comes back.
  5. Just used the funnel, located in the hidden area under the hatch in the rear cargo compartment, and pushed it in the fuel inlet and then removed it, simulating a fuel nozzle insert/remove. Probably a better word would have been "reseated". Sorry for any confusion.
  6. Today I too got the Check Engine Light MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). I have an OBD-II reader, and it read P0456 Evap System Leak, very small. I see from Darrelld's receipt in his post above that the dealer read this same code from his issue as well, so I'll probably be taking it in when it returns. The MIL light could be from bad gas according to our owner's manual, so I refilled it today at a different station (although the fuel in the car was from Exxon, and today's refill was from Shell, both pretty good gas, I think). This specific P0456 code could also be caused by a bad/improperly installed gas cap, according to the internet, so I also reset the capless gas flap with the funnel. I then used my code reader to clear the code, and of course it went away. If it stays away long term, great. If it returns, I'll be in for the fix that darrelld got, I guess. I have 3K miles on it, owned it since Thanksgiving. PS: I got the "check fuel filler inlet" a week or so after I got the car, and it went away on its own back then when I reset the capless flap.
  7. As valkraider said, when we are eligible to upgrade to 3.5.1., which should be soon (this month???), you will first request a A4 card be sent to you via FEDEX on syncmyride.com and then you download 3.5.1. from the same website onto a USB flash drive, then intall them. All other MFT Fords already are eligible for the upgrade, but those of us with hybrids/battery vehicles (Fusion, CMax, Energi, etc) that are not very recent builds (within the last month or so) are not eligible to upgrade yet. Again, it should be very soon.
  8. Mine were there and I also ended up ordering a third FOB/precut key as a spare. By the way, your precut keycode was on a small rectangular sticker in your pack of paperwork, that looks like a UPC code with a 5 digit number written on it. If you don't have that keycode, you have to have the dealer look it up on their system for your VIN and you must provide proof of ownership (ID and registration type thing, so they can make sure you are who you say you are).
  9. Additional confirmation that there is no update yet for MFT for the battery/electric vehicles (like CMax) comes from the community board on syncmyride.com. Yesterday, the moderator updated the response to the thread on the new 3.5.1 update that now says "Fusion Hybrid, C-MAX Hybrid, C-MAX Energi, and Focus Electric will be subject of a future announcement" [...of an update] : http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=2&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=6366
  10. Yep, sometimes the street name is there, sometimes it isn't, even on the same roads driven on a different day. I haven't been able to figure out why. Who knows....
  11. I experience the same as your 1-3 as well, basically. Unfortunately, I am not sure anyone has figured out the cause, but probably one of the ones you list. Who knows.
  12. 3.5.1. has been out for those non hybrids without navigation system for about 2 months now. For those non hybrids with nav, the dealerships have had enough Nav cards for the last couple of weeks. Ford definitely has the SD cards available for non hybrids now with version 3.5.1, as the website below was updated in the last day or two and you can request a Nav card through the syncmyride and it will be sent via the mail now. http://support.ford.com/ However, when I log into my CMAX syncmyride webpage, there is no update for my CMAX yet. We should all have 3.1.3, I believe, and it is for the BEV (battery electric vehicles), and I think they have to give us a specific update. See other post in this section about 3.1.3 being the latest version.
  13. Mirrors are heated ONLY when the rear window heat is on. From the manual, see my underline in the last sentence. Also, see the note about cleaning the mirrors (yes, they can get a little spotty, I think so anyway). HEATED WINDOWS AND MIRRORS (IF EQUIPPED) Heated Rear Window Note: The vehicle must be running to use this feature. Press the control to clear the rear window of thin ice and fog. Press the control again within 15 minutes to switch it off. It turns off automatically after approximately 15 minutes, or when you switch the ignition off. Do not use razor blades or other sharp objects to clean the inside of the rear window or to remove decals from the inside of the rear window. This may cause damage to the heated grid lines and will not be covered by your warranty. Heated Exterior Mirror (If Equipped) Note: Do not remove ice from the mirrors with a scraper or attempt to readjust the mirror glass if it is frozen in place. These actions could cause damage to the glass and mirrors. Note: Do not clean the housing or glass of any mirror with harsh abrasives, fuel or other petroleum-based cleaning products. Both mirrors are heated to remove ice, mist and fog when the rear window defroster is activated.
  14. Headlights: Do you have the "auto light rain" turned ON in the Settings/Vehicle/Lighting display (see approx page 122 in owners manual)? Windows: As stated above, did you press and hold the unlock button on the keyfob?
  15. I agree, it is a good flow. Well, I was thinking maybe I had a clogged nozzle, but I guess it is normal. Thanks for the responses!
  16. Thanks, just tried your suggestion. That answered most of the question; I hadn't tried lifting up the rubber mat (duh!), because I had put a few things in that compartment already. The method you describe certainly allows access to the terminals of the battery, but it only exposes about 1/3 of the battery, the other 2/3 remains covered by the cargo floor. I suspect you have to remove some more trim/bolts/etc if you want to physically remove the battery out of the vehicle. I find it "interesting" that the battery installed in mine is not even close to the one specified in our owner's manual, different (lower) CCA and different model number. Nice...
  17. I am just curious at this point, but how do you actually put "hands on" the 12V battery if you had to remove it. I know it is in the back end of the vehicle, and from underneath the car, I can see a black rectangular box that it probably sits in. I know about the reprogramming that is required if it is disconncected. I know about the jumper ports under the hood, so I am not asking about that either. I know the manual says that a Ford technician has to remove it (yeah, right!). What I am asking is do you get to the 12V battery from underneath the car, or from the cargo area? If the cargo area, what interior trim do you have to "tear up" to get to it? Anyone done it yet?
  18. This is minor, but I want to see if my rear window wash is normal. My rear window wash, when activiated, is more like a stream of fluid that narrowly flows onto the side of the window where the wiper is "parked". The first bit of stream flows down on the wiper and then the wiper smears it around, so it does work, but I'd expect more of a spray than a stream. Especially because when the wiper is wiping on the other side, the stream has no "dam" build-up effect since the wiper is not below the stream, and much of the fluid runs off the window before the wiper can smear it around, at least until the wiper returns. Does anyone's rear wash come out as a spray, or is this "stream" normal? Thanks.
  19. Yeah, winter gas mix certainly has less BTUs per volume, hence you burn more per mile. So the summer mix will make a noticable increase in gas mileage, let alone the simple temperature difference similar to what you guys are seeing with your grill covers right now. Of course, none of us know yet with the late fall release of the CMAX Hybrid, but I bet there won't be as many complaints come late May/early June about as poor of gas mileage (when the summer gas comes back, and temps are moderate).
  20. I haven't had any problems. I'll through out a few suggestions that you may or may not have tried. Make sure your key is not in same pocket as cell phone (interference). You have to grab the handle for a fraction of a second before you pull it to unlock, and make sure you are not grabbing the handle when pushing the little "fingerprint" lock area.
  21. Above is what I see as well. I don't see ICE after engine start until I am out on the main road, and once it has engaged the first time, it stays engaged a little longer than normal til the vehicle is warmed up. Vehicle is garaged, and outside temps in the 25-35 deg range on AMs typically so far this winter. I don't use defrost unless I need to for a few seconds to clear the fog.
  22. I think I answered your question, unless I am not understanding your question. From what I understand of your question, I've been doing exactly what you are asking. I haven't noticed any issues using the battery tender described above.
  23. Found this article. Assuming it is true, an update to the hybrids will be in the "1st quarter of this year", whereas it says everyone else with Nav will be updated by this month (as has been reported elsewhere) http://www.usatoday.com/story/driveon/2012/11/29/ford-myford-touch-sync/1734133/
  24. Mine looks the same as yours. Probably could have been cleaned up a little to help further dampen noise, but I guess it is what it is...
