  1. I've attached the Ford ESP plans pertaining to ENGINE and highlighted the fuel injectors.
  2. drdiesel1's response was valid. It all depends on the warranty purchased. Was it an aftermarket warranty? Was it a Ford warranty? If aftermarket, which company, etc. Ford's ESP Base Care covers fuel rails and fuel pumps but makes no mention of injectors, so I'd assume they are not covered. Ford's ESP Premium Care covers the above and also specifically mentions it covers fuel injectors.
  3. About the only way you will see a C-Max around here is if you get a parking ticket. In my city the bylaw officers are now driving Oxford White C-Maxes. They switched from the Prius sometime in the past year. I almost didn't get a white one for that reason but decided to fit in with the crowd.
  4. GM cars have operated like this for many years. When defrost is on, A/C is on. I thought most/all cars did the same.
  5. Thanks for the info Wayne. My friend has the MAXSpyder 3D mats in his Fusion and loves them, glad to know I can get them for my soon to be born C-Max. I really wish you had bought the rear one too so I'd know if they fit. ;)
  6. Covering the front end of your car with cellophane tape can help with fuel economy a bit. Lightening up the car will help more so. Might be time to start ripping out the carpeting, sound deadening, interior door panels, headliner, extra seats, and anything else that isn't necessary. Once that is done, you can go on a crash diet, wear little to no clothing and then report back on your fuel economy. ;) You're definitely hardcore, ptjones. Glad to see you're enjoying your car and hobby.
  7. They stopped making the Escape in a hybrid when they came out with this gen of Escape. Instead we got the C-Max. I probably would've given serious consideration to the Escape hybrid, but that hasn't been an option for a few years now.
  8. When I went to buy mine, there were about 10 of them total within about 100 miles of me in Ontario Canada. The dealer I bought from had no new or used ones on the lot, and it appears that most Ford dealers around here have a similar no stock policy. I ordered mine from the factory as well, mostly because it was get what I want in the future, or settle for something that's been sitting for a while and not what I wanted. Part of me thinks that Ford, or at least Ford Canada really doesn't want to sell this vehicle. Their website still hasn't been updated for 2015, you can't price out a 2015 or search dealer inventories for a 2015. Most of my friends have never heard of a C-Max, or seen one. I wonder how sales would be if Ford made an effort?
  9. Good point, I know in my Highlander I've left the car on when at the drive-in during a cool October night. The ICE only cycled as needed. :)
  10. Where I live you can fill it on Monday morning and then have to pull over halfway home from work and fill it at the side of the road on a Friday. That isn't too big of a deal if you have a spare bottle in the hatch. If you don't, you're wiping snow on the windshield and hoping you can see for long enough to get to a gas station so you can buy some more.
  11. Has anyone ever taken their car to the drive-in movie theater? I've never had a problem watching a double or triple feature in any of my cars with regard to battery level but am now concerned that I won't be able to take my C-Max there, or will need to bring a second battery.
  12. I was in the exact same boat as you looking at the same 3 vehicles. I ordered my C-Max 11 days ago. Good luck in whatever you choose!
  13. In some jurisdictions that the car is sold, DRL's are mandatory. If they were to do that, then they'd have to have different builds for different regions, or at least load different software into the car for different regions. Much simpler and cheaper to make it the same everywhere.
  14. In my garage is a 2000 Trans Am with 90,000 miles on it, 87,000 of them with a K&N filter on it. My previous car to that was a Grand Prix with 60,000 miles on it. I never had a MAF issue with either. IMO, issues are caused by over oiling the filter and reinstalling the filter without letting the filter have time to properly absorb the oil. I've known a couple of people who have set MAF related codes because of that. A QTIP and some rubbing alcohol fixed their issue.
  15. I never knew there was no warning light for low windshield washer fluid, glad I read this post. All of my cars over the past 12+ years have had the warning light. With the way windshield washer containers are jammed into engine compartments nowadays, there's no real way to check the level.
  16. The only winter tip I can offer is to move somewhere warmer. You're going to take a hit on fuel economy whether you are driving a hybrid or a conventional vehicle. Winter gas gives worse fuel economy, longer warm up times hurt as well. Since moving to a warmer locale isn't a reality to me, I just accepted my fate. Then again, I have a remote car starter for my Highlander Hybrid and ordered my C-Max with one as well so being comfortable is more important to me than a couple of bucks worth of gasoline.
  17. I'm 6'3" tall and before ordering mine I sat in the back seat with the driver's seat adjusted to my driving postion. I fit okay and therefore any one I'd ever take as a passenger would also fit. Test passed! :happy feet:
  18. Well the deal has been signed, now to wait forever until they build it and ship it.
  19. Congrats on the new wheels and enjoy!
  20. I hear what you're saying hybridbear and I've looked at the Energi several times and took one out for a test drive too. The lack of a fold flat rear seat really hurts me for the utility aspect of the vehicle. My daily drivers over the past 10 years have been a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, a Ford Edge and a Mitsu Endeavor. I've had many weekend trips to the cottage where those vehicles were full. While I can downsize somewhat, I'm not a magician :)
  21. I looked at the Energi the first time it appeared at the Toronto Auto Show. My commute is 25 miles each way for work and I'm sure that my boss would let me plug in at the office. Unfortunately the battery pack reduces the cargo capacity too much to make it a suitable vehicle for me. I also frequently do trips of 80-200 miles so there really wouldn't be any savings in fuel and electricity costs. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  22. I've been looking at the C-Max since it was released and have always thought it'd be a perfect daily driver for me. Currently I drive a company provided vehicle, a 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited. It's lease is up March 1st and my work has cancelled company vehicles so a shopping I must go. The C-Max, Prius-V and Golf TDI wagon were the only cars really in the running. I only really need seating for 2, but I need cargo capacity and fuel economy and "all the toys". Weekend cottage trips with the Mrs, our dog and her cage, golf clubs, bicycles, etc eliminated most other vehicles like the Fusion Hybrid. I do 25,000+ miles per year so fuel economy is very important to me. Gas isn't going to stay cheap forever! The hardest part was what year C-Max to get. I originally planned on getting a used one, could save a bundle on a low mileage car, but they seem to have dried up around here. The rental fleets were all returned a few months ago and there are few around. Then I looked at a new 2014, with incentives of $7500 off MSRP (Ontario Canada) the deal looked great and I almost pulled the deal today on one. There aren't many in the province so I would have to settle for something that wasn't exactly what I wanted. Luckily enough for me, my wife has been working for a large local Ford dealer for 6 months or so now and they came up with what I think is a very fair price for a 2015. So my plan tomorrow is to order a 2015 SEL, White Platinum, 302A, Remote Starter. I'll get the dealership to get the windows tinted before I take it home. Thanks to this forum, I'll be ordering a hitch from Torklift for my bike rack. Will also be ordering some mats from somewhere real quick. I've had sunroofs on my last 5 cars but this time I'm going to skip the pano roof. I figure having the glass panel would prevent me from having an aftermarket roof installed down the road if I decide I can't live without one. Anyhow folks, thanks for the forum and the knowledge I've gained the past few months from all the members. I look forward to learning more and sharing more as time goes on.
