  1. Dealer performed a "cluster update" today. It fixed problem described earlier but now there is another, new problem. My Home no longer knows its own address. System returns a "No Match" message. It seems that this problem is unrelated to SYNC2 - v3.8 software. I may drop this. Not worth another trip to, and 3+ hours at, the dealership.
  2. I drive a 2013 C-MAX Hybrid SEL with MFT / SYNC2 - v3.8. I recently noticed a problem related to selecting nearby POIs using the steering wheel controls. Specifically, when selecting POI categories on the dash, the list displayed is the same list of categories, and not a list of POI destinations. For example, when I select Fuel Stations, I get a brief "please wait" message and the display flips back to the category list. I never see the list of nearby fuel stations. This issue does not occur when using the MFT touch screen. According to (http://outofmytouch.com), this bug has been around as far back as September, 2013, almost THREE years ago from today. Is Ford currently supporting MFT and SYNC2? Will Ford support MFT & SYNC2 in the future? How do owners of MFT / SYNC2 vehicles get fixes to known and documented hardware and/or software issues?
  3. I am totally confused. I have a 2013 CMAX SEL with MFT running 3.6.2. Is there now, or will there be in the future, an update to 3.6.2? Ford appears to have changed the customer-facing website where I used to check for the latest release. I can't find it now.
  4. Ford issued a TSB on 6-May. I just took my CMAX to the dealer and they applied a software / firmware patch. Hopefully, this takes care of this problem. I will know tomorrow morning.
  5. The Ford Oasis Special Service Message, #32069, documents this problem and states that "Engineering is currently investigating." It is not clear to me if there is a connection between this problem and the forthcoming update to SYNC / MFT. I reported this problem to Ford in September, 2012, but I don't know when Ford Engineering started to actively investigate.
  6. 55 to 60 are my normal highway speeds and my average trip is probably 5-10 miles. I took the CMAX to the Ford Dealer today and, as I expected, they did not find any problems. But, as noted above, I hope to see improved MPG with warmer weather, P&G, tire pressure tweaks, etc.
  7. Yes, it has been fairly cold here in the last several weeks. I don't have a cover or a ScanGuage and I usually park the CMAX in the parking lot, not the garage. No portable GPS but no hard sole shoes, either. And, importantly, I was not aware of Pulse & Glude until I read your post. Clearly, the cold weather has had an adverse impact on MPG. Also, contrary to my belief when I first posted, tire pressure was 3 psi on the low side on three tires when I checked today. Thanks for these pointers . . . I think I will start seeing better mileage going forward.
  8. Ford dealer told me today that Ford is working on a fix to the 2 kick problem.
  9. My C-MAX Hybrid has 2,844 total miles. The last 1,245 miles burned 35.4 gallons of 87 octane gas, about 35 MPG. tire pressure problems = none . . . recently checked, nitrogen-filled obey speed limits = yes gentle braking & acceleration = most of the time extra cargo = almost never me = 140 pounds highway v city miles = 50/50 EcoCruise = yes peaks & valleys in Northern Virginia = not many, not very steep Long trip down south soon so I am bringing the C-MAX to a dealer tomorrow to check for mechanical or battery problems. Also, I have a Case ID from Ford. I don't expect that the dealer will find anything wrong but will post if this is not the case. Great vehicle, except for real world 35 v 47.
  10. I have the "two kick" problem, too. Sometimes the lift gate opens on the 1st attempt, sometimes not, and this does NOT depend on the doors being locked or unlocked. My current theory is that this problem may be related to the difference in air pressure, inside the cabin versus outside the cabin. I say this for two reasons: 1) I had a VW Bug a few years ago and experienced a similiar problem with the hatch. VW told me that it was related air pressure differences and that there was not much they could do and 2) I have never seen the "two kick" problem if I open a window (thereby equalizing air pressures) before opening the lift gate with the kicking motion. In any event, I am in contact with Ford Customer Care to see if there is a simple fix and if Ford has recognized this as a broader C-MAX problem.
