No, I only meant within the past few tanks there has been no change in driving habits. Of course I've learned a ton from everyone here and have radically altered my driving style since last drove the Jeep. No insults intended. I wouldn't have learned as much on the other C-MAX forum, for sure.

Nope, and I am under 10,000. W/O going out to the car and checking, I am less than 8,000. No change in driving habits, routes, distance.

I will be using the NAV this weekend, for the first time since the upgrade. Don't really need to use it for directions, but want to for..............well, just to see if it works ok.

It may eke out another .1 of a mile. In the winter, I think it hurts you because of exactly what you said.......you need the battery for the morning. But in the summer, maybe it helps a little. Also, it depends on how much battery you have left when it kicks in. This afternoon I was down at the bottom on my way home when EV woke up. It immediately gave me 2 full bars (which I didn't need, since it was flat and close to home), but still, I got another .1 in the mpg column.

I have 150 miles on this tank of gas, and my running average mpg for the tank is 48.3!!!! This is my second full tank of premium gas. With the first, I got my miles per tank at 558....a full 52 miles more than my previous best, and still with gas in the tank. I honestly think I could have made it to 600 on that one, but I had fuel points to use or lose at Kroger.............so.....I caved and filled up. My previous best tank average was 45. The Miles to Empty said 535 this afternoon! Crikey!!! What's up with that?!?! It's consistently warm here in MI now.....temps reaching 80+ in the afternoons, and usually starting out @ 50+ I had the 3.5.1 upgrade done at the end of May, I *think* during that last tank, but I'd have to look at dates. Jelly was at the dealership and we were OOT some. But it doesn't matter. What are your thoughts? Is it the Season? The Premium Gas, or the 3.5.1 upgrade? Or a combination? The daily route has not changed; I LOVE my C-MAX!!!

lkaldridge, here's my history with the problem, which started about April 26, when the weather started warming here in Michigan. It's been very frustrating, so believe me when I say I understand! Maybe some of the info here will be of interest to your dealership.....maybe they can pull history on my car when it's done. FINALLY!!!!! Someone else with the same issue I'm experiencing. Halla-freakin' lujah!!! ( Not that I'm wishing this on anyone else, it's just a relief that someone else knows what I'm talking about. I have driven the car to the dealership in this state 3 times. I knew if I described it to them, they would think I was crazy. I wanted someone there to SEE it. It's always at the end of the day and no one there to run the diagnostics. Finally, this past Monday, I was able to catch it in the act at 4pm, and drove straight there. 2 hours later, and 2 phone calls to the hotline, and they told me to unSYNC my phone and drive it like that for a few days, to see if it's a phone problem. Tuesday everything was fine when I left work, and I began to think they may be right. But then on Wednesday afternoon at 6pm, SYNC failed in the same way.....no phone, radio, cd. SYNC paddle didn't work, no buttons or dials worked. I called the dealership immediately and got a phone call back this morning. They believe it's something called the APIM.....something in it is expanding because of the heat, then contracting when it cools, which is why they believe it doesn't happen in the mornings. I'm taking the car in Monday morning to have the APIM replaced. They have to tear the car apart to get the #, then order. So I won't have it back til Tuesday or Wednesday, then we'll see.

kbf1, you are not going to change the minds of the majority of people on this forum who love their C-MAXes, so please pedal your negativity somewhere else. Yes, there are a few here who have had major issues...........there will always be that with any 1st generation car..........I should know, I drove an Opel GT from GM for 2 years, before there were Lemon Laws. The people here who have had problems, we support them, in whatever way we can, whatever their decision may be. We don't ridicule them for making their purchase or their decision. That's just petty, and reserved for people who obviously have another agenda. So, kpf1, the bottom line here is, quit trying to stir up trouble. You will only find a united front against it.

Do you have navigation? If so, you can try to sync your clock with the navigation. Mine has worked fine since doing this.... Good luck on the other stuff. Our collective fingers are crossed for you!!

Thanks JAZ.....Actually, this is a good thing in a way. Not to wish problems on anyone, it's still somehow comforting to see that others are having the same or similar issue. The Focus one looks closest to my problem. I never get any Audio off or any other error message when it happens. The screen quadrants look perfectly normal..........except that nothing works. I'll watch the YouTube vid at lunch. Can't wait to hear from the dealership this morning!

Seems to be a common theme here! I wish there were a better way of getting this upgrade! Or scheduling with the Ford server a time to download. Maybe there are too many downloading at once? Sheesh!!

It was just hot enough today, apparently! When I left work about 6pm, SYNC failed!!! :happy feet: With no phone paired to it!! :sing_rain: Nothing worked....no radio, no SYNC paddle, no CD player, no volume control, no ON/OFF button, no dials. Even though everything showed live on the screen. Of course it was too late to go to the dealership, but I called and left a message. :sos: Why am I so happy, you may ask? Hopefully this means (a) a new part will be ordered and (b), I won't have to get a new phone!!!
