Jus-a-C-Max................I have the image on my computer, I just can't find the *upload* button. I tried copy and paste but that didn't work, neither did drag and drop..... -

Ok, can't figure out how to upload a picture here, but my drive home tonite, approx. 25 miles, was 44.1mpg. That's actually a little low for my home trip. I've gotten as high as 54.5. Today's temps were in the mid 30s. I drove w/bun warmers on and the heat when I needed it. The trip is thru 1 small community, 45-55mph speed limits, with some stop signs and/or lights. I was alone in the car. -

I'm looking forward to moderating temps later this week to see what I get. But I'm not complaining....in 0* to 20* temps, 38mpg average with individual trips of 45-54mpg. The best my Jeep ever got was 21, avg. was 17 -
I had my VIN # for weeks but didn't know I could look up the window sticker from it until a couple of days before it was due to be built. The good news is that it was scheduled/built on 11.24.12 and I took delivery on 11.29.12.......yeah, I live in Michigan, only a few miles from the plant....sorry

Chris, I seriously feel your pain. I live in Michigan and we've had some really cold days in the past couple of weeks. (I've also lived in MN.....Duluth....so I know about COLD.) I've had my C-Max since the end of November. My lifetime average MPG is about 38. That said, I've had some trips of 44, 45, 47, and 54 MPG. Is it every day? No. Is it every trip? No. But enough to convince me that it is possible. The cold that we live with, that others can't even imagine, does us in. I'm completely convinced that when the weather moderates that we'll see much better mileage. I've learned a lot from this forum, as well as CMAXchat.com about how to drive a hybrid vehicle. I came to my C-Max from a Jeep Liberty that got 17-21 MPG. I'm sorry that your dealer is now changing stories on you. That's completely not fair. I hope you are able to hang on, read and learn, and come to appreciate and enjoy your C-Max as much as others have.

I've had this problem 3 times so far. The first time was just a few days after I got the car. Then yesterday morning it was wrong.........way off, but I don't remember the time. I reset it in settings and it was fine the rest of the day. Then this afternoon it was off again, by many hours. I reset it from settings but not from GPS. I'll try that tomorrow if it's off again. The only thing different is that I set the lights to stay on for 30 sec. after I get home, so I can see to get stuff out and to get into the house. Surely those few seconds wouldn't drain the battery to the point that the clock would be off. Otherwise, no battery-type issues .................knock on wood!

Yes, I've had that too, DavidJE. It will appear to connect, then the radio will come back on...........go figure! Where are you in MI, David? I'm in Milan, south of A2. I have only seen 1 C-Max on the road besides mine.

Thanks DarrellD, I'll try tomorrow morning. I'm used to voice dialing w/my Bluetooth earbud/phone combo, and in the beginning SYNC worked for me....just lately it seems to be stubborn!
-
OK, so it says that the *Phone is always on* and there is no need to say *Phone*, but with mine, I cannot initiate a call without saying *Phone* first. I tried again tonite on the way home. Pulled the flipper and it said *Say a command*. I said, *Call....................on cell!* It said, *Please say a command*. I said, *Phone*. *Phone, say a command* I said, " Call................on cell* It said, * Say a command, such as.......................* AAARRRRRGHHHHHHH!!! Finally, after 4 tries, I got my call thru. Does SYNC not like cold weather or something?

Ok, so it was night time when I brought my C-Max home over a month ago, and I've never had to turn on the headlights since, or turn them off.....until this morning! They have come on when I start up the car in the dark to drive to work; they are on when it rains, and when I drive home at night. But this morning they didn't come on even tho it was pitch black dark outside. I turned them on, but then had to turn them off when I got to work. I tried a couple of the settings on the light dial but apparently didn't hit the right one. How do I get my automatic lights back?

For the past 10 years I drove a 2002 Jeep Liberty Limited w/4WD. I loved everything about that Jeep.........except for the gas mileage. Just for grins I added up 1 month of fill ups in the Liberty (6 fill ups = $294.18) and 1 month of fill ups in the C-Max (4 fill ups = $108.83). That's a savings of $186.18!! My driving route, approx. # of miles driven each week, highway vs. city, has not changed. To say that I am pleased with the change is a colossal understatement!

Wouldn't you know? As soon as I posted the question this morning, I found it on my way to work. Thanks!!

Is it possible to reset the lifetime MPG? I can reset most everything else, but I've tried holding the OK button in a variety of screens and can't reset the lifetime MPG. Is that a fixed number, like the lifetime mileage?

Chinto, no I don't have the water temp gauge displayed. I'm going back out this afternoon to p/u the car and will check that on my way home, altho it's quite a bit warmer now.......+13!! Thanks for the info. C-MaxJaxon, this is the coldest it's been here this winter. With temps in the 20s on my way to work (20 miles) I can usually get into EV after a mile or so and complete about half the trip in EV mode. Today was extreme.

Ok, so I had to take my car in to the dealership this morning to have the remote start installed. I left at 7:45 for the 10 mile drive. It was +1 degree outside. I could not beg, coax, tease or trick my C-Max into EV mode until the last mile when I turned the climate off. That wouldn't last long at +1. My mileage for the trip, with very conservative driving, heat, heated seats was 27.5. My lowest so far in any conditions.

I've only had occasion to use the NAV once in the month I've owned my C-Max. A co-worker and I were delivering Christmas goodies to a family our company sponsored for the holidays and the address was in a neighboring town, in an area I wasn't familiar with. I loaded up the address before we left the office and things proceeded smoothly we thought, until we were brought to the completely wrong address!!! And then I couldn't get the GPS to accept the correct address to get us out of a rather unsavory neighborhood. Luckily my friend pulled up the map on her phone and routed us correctly. I haven't needed to use it again, but I suppose I should, even in areas I know, just to see if it works. OTOH, when it's just running in the background, it always knows where I am and shows me on the correct street, turn by turn.

Remote Start Questions
Adair replied to CNCGeek's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Well, I ordered mine w/remote start and was told it was a dealer installation.........and it wasn't available yet. 2 weeks ago the dealership called and it is in. I'm going to take mine up tomorrow morning to have it installed..........and now I'm having second thoughts. -
Hi Roggie, I live in Michigan and drove my C-Max Hybrid SEL yesterday in the snow. We had gotten a couple of inches overnight and the roads had not been plowed. I was used to driving a Jeep Liberty with 4 wheel drive, so I was curious to see how the C-Max responded. I had no trouble stopping, accelerating, turning in the snow, no fish-tailing and plenty of traction. I drove on both bladed highways and unplowed city streets with no problem. Granted, this wasn't a huge snow, but I was happy with the first experience. Also, our temps have been in the high teens - to mid 30s for the past week or so. Not as severe as yours, but still cold. On my ride home yesterday, in the snow, I got 47.9 mpg on the highway. ~Adair
