  1. Is that Aussie-speak for *fox in the henhouse*?
  2. How exciting MMM!!! :yahoo: Just think how prepared you are for this new car, compared to the poor souls who haven't found this forum (like me, 6 months ago )
  3. Jus-A-CMax said: I would not have said "refurb" and the fact that a new S4 doesn't work is the most telling. Yeah, in hindsight, I shouldn't have given them that info, but I was trying to be helpful.
  4. Still in the game, in spite of the SYNC/phone issues :yahoo: And I STILL love my C-MAX!!! :wub2: 55 by JellyBean439, on Flickr
  5. So is this something in the car? The blue tooth chip set thingy? I will definitely mention it to them! Thanks Wingrider and Jus! I am praying it will happen again today, early enough in the afternoon that I can take it by. Last I talked to them, they were leaning toward it being the Droid 4 # 2....the refurb. They don't know about Droid 4 # 3.....which is brand new, only used 2 weeks until now. And I am still convinced that temperature is a factor here, somehow. Because why didn't it happen a single time between November and April?
  6. I don't think we want to do that Jus. The day I got the car, back in November, Jerry and I went out to dinner to celebrate. I wasn't on the forum yet, so y'all haven't heard this story. Anyway, I had already SYNCed my phone at the dealership. Jerry got in, and the car immediately tried to pair with his phone. We were green at this, so we didn't think anything about it. The next day he went to work 35 miles away and his phone was still trying to sync with my car. Everytime he tried to make a call the phone would try to find my car to SYNC with. He had a helluva time removing it. Many calls to SYNC, Verizon, and Samsung. His phone never showed up on my SYNC screen, so there was nothing for me to delete. Finally one day it just resolved itself. Maybe my car is possessed

    74 mpg

It's the Blue Candy......it's a fast color!!! Congrats CoolMax! Those are awesome numbers! The warmer weather certainly is kinder to us in Michigan now, in lots of ways, isn't it? I got 55mpg on my 17 mile trip home yesterday. I was pretty happy with that.
  8. Thanks for the kind thought, Tree63. Not me yet tho......I would have been close last tank, but the dealership drove it for a couple days and wrecked my averages. I'll get there this summer tho, I'm sure. But 700? Nah, I'll be biting nails to get to 600 :baby:
  9. What???? You cuss at Maxine? :redcard: After all she's done for you? What's up with that?? And don't let Asia hear about that, she'll charge you a quarter :censored:
  10. I WILL get to the bottom of it. It's jus going to take a little longer.
  11. Sadly, har, it's not the 3.5.1 update....mine was a problem before that, and we thought the update would take care of it, but it didn't. Not sure if it's a phone problem, a SYNC problem, a phone-SYNC-car *allergy* problem, or what exactly, right now. Tomorrow, no phone, no SYNC. If I need to make a call, I'll use the Bluetooth earbud to do it. I know there's an answer out there somewhere. I just need it to act up at a time when I can take it to the dealership so they can hook it up to their diagnostic equipment during regular business hours :drop:
  12. Well, I was so sure that the problem was the refurb Droid 4. I moved everything to Droid 4 # 3 (Jerry's unused one), and SYNCed phone and address book yesterday afternoon. Everything worked fine this morning, again at 3:30 this afternoon when I went out to check it, and when I left work at 5pm. I was able to use SYNC to voice-dial my husband and the radio worked just fine! :sing_rain: 20 minutes later, I stopped at Kroger for a few things.......maybe 10 minutes...........and when I came back out to start the car, SYNC was frozen....the screen looked completely normal, but nothing worked.....no paddle, buttons, dials, no radio  Back to the drawing board....... Removed SYNC from phone and will do a master reset tomorrow.
  13. OL, thanks salsaguy, much appreciated. My sale guy luvs it and I just included my Service Advisor in the email chain saying that if I ever have to bring Maxine in complaining about a "poor mileage" issue, hes in big trouble. As for FB, I'll leave that to others (Adair) Plus all this will be moot when Matt comes back with a bigger one. As snowstorm said, all this competition is good for everyone - jus proves what can be done :) Done!!!
  14. This is just crazy!!! I sure hope someone from FORD is paying attention!!! They need to interview you for their next commercial.......YMMV.......pffftt!
  15. Thanks, and welcome Moytoyx! I'm 3.5.1 now too. The problem started before the upgrade. We thought (hoped) the upgrade would take care of it, but it didn't. Have you had any really hot weather there in NJ since you've had your C-MAX? That was the only other thing we came up with, in addition to the referb phone, the weather turned really warm about the time my SYNC problems started. I will be SYNCing the new Droid 4 later today and we'll see what happens then.
  16. For someone who wants to give a smaller, but very useful gift...... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CRO4IK/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 car coin holder.....love mine!
  17. Ok, so the phone I've been using for the past 6 weeks or so is NOT my original Droid 4. I had no SYNC problems at all from November to April. That phone failed in mid- April, and because it was still under warranty, Verizon sent out a replacement......a referb......which they swore was warrantied the same as a brand new phone. I had problems uploading the phone book, but it eventually worked. It was 7-10 days later that I had the first incident of SYNC freeze, no phone, no radio, etc. And the rest of the story is well documented here. After the dealership kept the car for 11 days, could not duplicate the problem (without the phone in the mix), and I have it home 5 hours with the phone SYNCed but no phonebook uploaded.......and it freezes..........we now believe the phone is the catalyst and the problem. I forgot that my husband has a brand new Droid 4 that he's not using! He uses a Samsung Galaxy 4S. We're gonna switch my account to that phone today and try it. If things work ok and SYNC does NOT fail for a while, I will have some ammunition to go to Verizon with. I'll report back later. Does anyone else here have the Droid 4 with Verizon service?
  18. But is that with a phonebook uploaded? I tried steps 1 and 2, but when I said Dial, it said Please say a name......then when I said the # it wouldn't go anywhere after that. Anyway, it doesn't matter now. I baked the car in the sun for 5 hours, then went out to run some errands. First start up......ok, 2nd start up.......ok everything worked. Third start up, no phone, no radio, no dials, paddles or buttons worked, altho everythiing showed functioning on the screen. Called the dealership but it was too late to take it in. I did a master reset and removed SYNC from the phone. I'll drive like that for a while, using bluetooth to dial voicedial from the phone. If it doesn't happen again for a while....days.....weeks.....who knows..... then we will assume it's a phone issue and I'll duke it out with Verizon to get a different phone to try. AAAAARRRGHHHH!!! But, on the plus side, it sure is nice to have my nice, quiet, fuel effecient C-MAX back!
  19. Bill-N, I tried that, but with no phonebook uploaded. It kept telling me to say a name, but wouldn't dial just from the number spoken.
  20. WAHOO (fish tacos :>)!!! Way to go JUS!!!!!! As Asia would say, you are a Rock Star!!!
  21. Maybe I have to have the contact with the phone # uploaded first?
  22. I have not uploaded phonebook yet Frbill. We are still trying to make the problem happen at a time when the dealership can hook it up to the computers to analyze. So for now it's only the phone SYNCed, no phone book. I tried to dial by # XXX-XXX-XXXX, but it wouldn't take it. And the earbud/ phone won't work on it's own as long as SYNC is in charge. Still trying to figure out a work-around while we get the problem solved. I refuse to hold the phone to my ear!!!
  23. Got my C-MAX back today YAY! So far I have SYNCed the phone but not uploaded the phone book. I thought you could voice dial with SYNC by speaking a number....no? Also, has anyone uploaded contacts by Bluetooth ? I tried but none transferred. If I can't dial by # then if I can upload a few frequently dialed #s that would help.
